Thanks, glad the response is so positive. I'll try to do them more often. It gives me a chance to add some more details.
You get a like from me just for not wasting my time with an intro. Thanks for getting straight to the point.

This is like if Ian Hubert and Andrew Price had a baby! Amazing how a 8 min video feels very light.
If your alphas are repeating go intro texture properties under mapping extension set to clip instead of repeat.
I think the quadsphere is just the same as a 3x subdivided cube so you could probably save a little time starting the tutorial with "select cube and push ctrl+3"
@davidbischi

a subdivided cube isnt a sphere, you would need to add and apply a cast modifier to it with set to "sphere"
First of all, thanks a lot for all your videos, those are some amazing high quality and straight forward content. I'd like to ask you if you know how to do stitches in sculpt mode using alphas, like substance do with texture maps. Is that viably possible?

i have a question about the cavity option, im currently making a type of robot for 3d printing, will the cavity affect the result when 3d printing or is that just for yourself in blender

@@BlenderSecrets at about 2:48 , im generally just trying to get a good indention look (that its a sharp edge)

@@90bubbel60 As long as it's real geometry, I guess it depends on the resolution your 3D printer is capable of.
@90bubbel60

@@BlenderSecrets not entirely sure what you mean with real geometry? that its not a texture or?
@BlenderSecrets
Жыл бұрын
@@90bubbel60 I mean, if you make geometry changes with sculpting, it's really displaced the geometry. As opposed to say, using a Bump or Normal map to "fake" displacement. That would not work with 3D printing (although, you can still convert it to real displacement this way: kzread.info/dash/bejne/c4OY0qmgoazbkps.html)
But how to remain the sharp edges in hard surface sculpting?

Cool, but alpha brush technique for Zbrush, because for good quality need 100+ millions polygons per model, and blender in this case pretty bad
@BlenderSecrets
2 жыл бұрын
I don't think I've used 100+ million polys before in ZBrush 😅 Certainly not necessary, if you split it up in multiple subtools. Maybe you mean if you count all the individual subtools up? You can do that in Blender as well, just use separate objects each with Multires modifier. Turn on the modifier only on the object you're working on.
