Basically, in the first image, there are thousands of vertices and edges, but only one face. The second image shows the back of a head after sculpting with dynamic topology, and now the topology is trash and fucked up. The third one is cursed because the default Blender scene has the camera, point light, and default cube, but now it has been replaced with a default pyramid. The fourth one shows what happens when you repeatedly apply the smooth modifier to Suzzanne. The fifth one shows the Maya logo instead of the Blender logo where the Blender logo should be. The sixth one shows a massive and unorganized node tree. The seventh one shows bones for a human rig, but all the bones are oriented upward, which is weird and doesn't work well. The eighth one shows a Blender in Blender.

  • @michaelmakes1333

ok this is a shit comment that isn't even right. For example, the first one is cursed bc it shows a single face with hundreds of thousands of edges. And the fifth one is cursed because the Maya logo is where the blender logo should be. I hope this comment is a joke. Hopefully I cleared some things up.

I'm still a Blender beginner, but here is my best guess for all of these 0:00 A circle with 28,958 edges is overkill. Also judging by the 28,956 triangles, I'd guess that the circle is split up in a very inconvenient way. Terrible. 0:05 It looks like this model was generated from an image using an algorithm. Its level of detail varies dramatically. See where all the black dots are? Those spots are going to look like a weird pinching if you try to animate it. 0:13 Blender always opens with a default scene with a default cube. This is a default pyramid. *shudder* 0:19 This is the Blender monkey. Her name is Suzanne. The model comes free with the software. Someone tried to subdivide it but it looks really weird. (Thank you to Designator for leaving a comment with info I forgot.) 0:26 The window is Blender but the top bar shows that the window is actually in Blender's main competitor software, Autodesk Maya 3d. 0:37 This is a Nodes window. Nodes are a way of programming without typing everything out. This image looks like a lot of bad code. It would be very difficult for anyone to work with this, even the person that made it. Good code is important. 0:43 These are animation bones from an animation skeleton rig. All of the bones are vertical which doesn't bode well. They should probably be in a T pose or something. Maybe all of the rotations got erased. This is the Blender equivalent of finding a human skeleton with all of the bones neatly arranged. 0:49 Blender in Blender

@@angrychallenge 1. 0:00 It appears to be a circle with a lot of vertices so that it's extremely smooth but super inefficient, so basically the energy is: ruh roh. 2. 0:06 Seems to be a model generated by some sort of photo scanning program and the topology, basically the way the shape is made through polygons, is just horrific. 3. 0:11 Usually the default scene in blender has a cube, so the fact it's a pyramid is odd. 4. 0:20 The monkey on the left is named Suzanne which is one of Blender's mascots. It is one of the objects Blender has in it's library and it seems to have had a modifier or some sort of effect applied to it so that the geometry is changed and it has produced unsettling results. 5. 0:27 The icon in the top left is for Maya not Blender 6. 0:38 Nodes scary. Lots of them. Ah. (Though looking at them from this distance I don't think they're doing anything) Nodes are usually used to create materials in blender and they dictate how an object reacts to light and other things. 7. 0:43 Sometimes when you import a skeleton to use to pose a model it has the bones all rotated in a weird orientation because they were not imported correctly. 8. 0:50 Blender made with Blender. edit: added time stamps

Explanation: 1. There is a circle with almost 30 thousand sides. Way too overkill 2. The topology is a nightmare, the triangles aren't even evenly distributed 3. A pyramid is not one of the default objects in Blender. How did it get there? 4. The monkey head should not look like that. I don't know that was even possible, but it's cursed. 5. The software is Blender, but the icon is Maya (not the same software). 6. There are way too many nodes and they aren't organized. I don't think any normal computer would be able to process that much 7. All of the rigging bones are pointing up. They should resemble a skeleton 8. There is an actual blender, not Blender the software.

0:00 Every object is consisted of vertex, edges and faces. Vertex are points, edges are lines and faces are surfaces. What you see here is someone put bunch of vertex and edges, but it only has one face. That means the object is literally unusable so the person that needs to work with that either needs to make every individual face seperately or start from scratch. Judging by the number of edges and vertex it takes lot of time and I honestly don't know which is worse. 0:05 Object needs to have clear and consistant lines. What you see those black dots are in fact edges that will need to reshape. In order words, someone will spend entire day fixing that stuff. 0:12 Pyramid is a diffult object. In most cases, cube is the solution. Pyramid is very specific and while you can transform it into cube, it is unnecesarly difficult to operate it. If you have pyramid as default, either you are about to lose a friend, or devil himself hacked your computer. 0:21 It is literally devolving infront of our eyes. 0:27 M is logo of Maya, the rival of Blender. This is like Super Mario having the logo of Sonic the Hedgehog. 0:38 What you see are the nods that define the texture of the object, be it metal, or wood, etc. They need to be clear and concise, because otherwise you can get lost very easily. This is everything except clear and concise. 0:44 I have no idea what am I looking. 0:55 A blender made in Blender.

Explaining every one: First, at 0:01 You can see a LOT of vertices in 3 objects. This much will most likely cause your computer to explode if you try to render this. Second, at 0:04 (which is the worst in my opinion) You can see the worst topography I have ever seen. Basically, models are made from a bunch of faces that form a topography, but this topography needs to be tidy and with the least amount of polygons as possible in order to be "good topography", which is necessary to make it render fast (and if using for a game, to make it light enough for the engine to handle), be easy to texture and easy to rig. This topography is absolutely horrifying because it looks like it needs so much manual retopo (essentially making each face by hand, the worst part about 3d modelling) that it would be better to delete the model and start anew. Third, at 0:11 This is easy to explain. When you create a new blender project, it automatically creates a cube, called the default cube. Most of the times, you would delete this cube because you can make as many cubes as you want, however the cube has become a cultural icon in the community. In here, you can see the default blender setup when you create a new project (default light, camera and cube) but instead of the cube, it's a different shape. Normally, this wouldn't change anything, but because the default cube has become a meme and something recognizable by the community, it feels unnatural. Fourth, at 0:19 This is also pretty easy. In blender, there is a default model of a monkey head. The reason for this is if you quickly want to test a shader on a complicated mesh. In blender, there is also a way to "decimate" a model, essentially artificially reducing the amount of polygons in a model without changing it's shape too much, using an algorithm. However, once you use it too many times, it begins to distort the original mesh into something unrecognizable, which is the case with the monkey head model. This just makes it look weird and uncanny, nothing special here. Fifth, at 0:26 This is just funny. It's a photoshopped image, showing the icon of Maya3d, another 3d modelling software, in the place where the blender logo should appear. Sixth, at 0:37 This looks like the shader graph. The shader graph is a tool in blender that lets you create shaders, essentially controlling how light affects the models in the project. This just looks like a shader that is overly complicated and is very confusing. Seventh, at 0:42 In order to make models move like, say humans, you need to apply bones to them. The bones can move, and if applied correctly, can move parts of the mesh with them, distorting as needed, in order to simulate how bones would move the human body. In blender, you can create a premade human skeleton that is in the correct shape, however it looks like here they generated the human skeleton and made all of the bones facing downwards instead of the bones facing the natural way that the default skeleton is. And finally, eighth at 0:49 This is a 3d model of an actual blender, a pun on the name of the software. Edit: just realized that in the first one, it's all of these vertices on 1 face, which should never ever happen, ever. And if you somehow did make 1 face with so many vertices your computer will probably turn into a nuclear warhead.
