I just have to say, I am a pre-beginner (my wheel is ordered but hasn't arrived yet!) and I CANT WAIT to get to the point where I can actually start to use some of these amazing techniques, I've just watched about an hours worth of your KZread videos and am feeling so inspired. Watching this landscape batt tutorial I literally went slack jawed at how beautiful that blend looked, thank you so much for sharing that with the world and opening my eyes to all the possibilities!!

Oh thank you for your kind words! That totally made my day! :) You should tag me on Instagram if you have it when you get your wheel and start spinning! I can't wait to see :)

WOW WOW WOW!!!!! I want to spin and work with fiber so bad! I've wanted to for just years and years! Watching videos like this is so beautiful and inspiring, I could almost cry! My husband says I already spend enough time and money knitting, crocheting, sewing, and the hundred other crafty functinal art that I do. Buying at the thrift store is definitely cheaper (in more ways than one!), so I, of course, see his logic in wanting to save time and money. We save money everywhere we can, so when I am finally able start all this fiber blending and spinning (hopefully one day) I'm making all my tools from scratch: spinning wheel, drum carder, blending board, lazy-Lucy - everything! I have all my plans and ideas. And, in my mind, I'm constantly adjusting and tweaking everything so it will be custom to exactly my preferences! Since I can only watch videos online instead of get my hands on things myself, would you please direct me to your videos that show a finished piece you made from projects like this one? I would just love to see what it turns into in the end! Also, I do have a French angora rabbit. I've been saving her fur for about a year, now. If nothing else, I could at least make a drop spindle and spin her fiber. Please, how do you dye your fiber such beautiful vivid colors? What products and techniques do you use?

This is inspirational! Do you happen to have photos or videos on how this spun up? My partner recently made me a DIY blending board using carding cloth and a wood cutting board from Kmart. I'm so keen to try different techniques. Thanks for your video ❤

you have amazing talent. you painted the same picture on the blending board as the picture from your phone. I was very impressed withe the colors you picked out, and how it was made to look as the same as the picture. Great work, thank you for sharing.

Being a felter and not a spinner, I see the potential of pulling the beautifully laid fiber off in one batt as opposed to rolags, and then needle or wet felting it into a flat piece. Why, I may just have to try that!! Keep up the great work, my friend! ☺️

The outcome is so pretty!!! I love your videos, you're the only one I'm subscribed to in this "genre", so every video is enjoying for me to watch. My favorite type of videos from you are the ones where you spin the yarn, so more videos like that in the future is something I would enjoy. But of course don't make videos you don't want to make yourself. (:

I love this idea so much! it's so artistic and creative. Could you let me know where you bought your blending board that you used in this video? I like it better than any of the others I've seen and I love the gold/brass coloured rods.

You may not be answering any more but..... so do you spin them in a particular order to preserve the color rotation...or is it pretty much lost after spinning?

beautiful, vibrant colors!! such a cool idea to bring a picture to life! how are you going to spin them together? are you going to move from the pink to the blue, or switch between them as you spin? do you know what you want to make with that yarn?

+Sara the video is coming soon :) I have a whole monolog in there about the many ways you could arrange a landscape yarn in a finished project. Giggle. He says I should finish a knitting project then he'll make me one. Awh man. :p

mine is 72 tpi, I like how versatile it is. Smooth or textured, it all plays well with a 72 tpi board.

One of your intro pictures seems to show a large blending board, did you make that yourself? Does it stay steady while you"re pulling because it's up against your body?
