Bleeding Through - Goodbye to Death

You have no heart left to break
Now your Soul has grown weary
The numbness you now feel
Growing stronger with the distance
Now you're alone
Your sacrifice goes unrecognised
You'll die inside
Inside you'll die
Everything that you ever knew as sacred
Has now left you blind
No silver lining
Humanity has made you a slave
You have no hope left to take
You sold your mind to the devil
All the self doubt you know feel
Believing every word you were told
Still alone
Your effort have all gone for not

    I actually find the keys work in the song considering what I picture in my head as I listen to Bleeding Through. The album artwork reminds me of a funeral, and the keys project the eery sounding church organs into my thoughts as I imagine the song play out visually. Awesome work!

    Well it comes to a time that a band's pioneering sound gets replicated in a form of influence rather than "ripping off", but like every genre and it's conventions, it gets over done and progressed until there's something new.

    well styles is just typically a stereotype, yes style can be applied to how a genre conveys generic conventions within a set genre, like how films use the genre they are depicting by applying the generic conventions. Same applies for bands in a certain genre, in the end they are officially genres, record companies and bands officially set it and applied it to the musical roots of Metal and Punk.

    The keyboard on this album, from what I have heard has it's ups and downs. And the previous three albums (The Truth, Declaration, and Bleeding Through) that Marta was featured on, her keyboard parts where much more in the right place. I think she'll find her place again in the next one. And no, Marta isn't just a piece of meat, although she is gorgeous, she is a musician.

    well Deathcore isnt JUST BREAKDOWNS, it combines Death Metal with Metalcore which originated all in early 2000. And yeh I agree, Melodic Deathcore fits this kind of genre, but Bleeding Through can also be attributed to Symphonic Deathcore as well, like Betraying The Martyrs, The Breathing Process and Winds Of Plague (whom which their keyboard player is the same member who does the synths in this band too haha)

    nahh you don't say, but it's definitely correct with this term, since Djent was actually nicknamed by Periphery when they started as Bulb, and it ain't underground, in fact, its become a Music fad now a days since before it never really existed, what you are stating is actually the pre-modern Groove Metal when it took it's twist on Metalcore, using different breakdown and riff patterns.

    Wikipedia isn't valid, Periphery didn't name the term, Djent has been used ince the 90s. There's a difference between popularized and named. Djent is very underground.

    Also Periphery did name the term, hence the quote "the term was popularized through the internet by American guitarist Misha Mansoor, founder of Periphery." from Wikipedia and many Metal encyclopedias state the exact thing. Mathcore is different, but now a days modern Technical and Progressive Metal/core bands incorporate the post-modern Progressive cliche of Djent, which really is a spin off between modern Groove/Thrash Metal (Threat Signal, I, The Breather) with post-progressive (Periphery).

    After hearing the album, I got to say its one of their best albums aside to Declaration, but the only things that I think could of been better would be that the songs should be much longer since almost the entire album was filled with songs that lasted for like 2 mins -_- and the synths needs to be less shy and more organic and vibrant since the synths in Declaration sounded much more realistic and blended well, like in "Walking Dead" which was one of the best examples on The Great Fire.

    Nope, they are all classified as genres, Metalcore and Deathcore are subgenres of both Metal and Hardcore Punk. Heavy Metal + Hardcore Punk = Metalcore (mid 90s) Metalcore + Death Metal = Deathcore (mid 90s/early 2000) Deathcore isn't really classified as a style because it too is an official genre, it is defined by an excessive use of death metal riffs, blast beats and use of hardcore punk breakdowns.

  • @kingplutoxiao1
    @kingplutoxiao112 жыл бұрын

    Well Deathcore is just Death Metal with breakdowns. So yeah. Melodic Deathcore fits them. Even bands like Sonic Syndicate(OLD STUFF)/The Unguided are Melodic Deathcore/Melodic Death Metal.

    Cool that they're trying new things, but I wish they'd throw in more melodic influences from time to time. I feel like they're teetering really close to being a chug chug band. The song's really interesting though. Especially the keys.

  • @kingplutoxiao1
    @kingplutoxiao112 жыл бұрын

    They work better as styles then genres. Trust me. Metalcore = Heavy Metal + Hardcore Punk(Post-hardcore or Hardcore Punk), some and elements extreme metal(aka the breakdowns, which were originally slams). Death Metal(any form, but usually normal deathcore) + Metalcore(the breakdowns) = Deathcore. Both just work better as a style then a genre though. Both are fusion genres not sub genres. Bullet For My Valentine, the old Sonic Syndicate, and Miss May I are good examples of artists that do.

    Djent isnt a style nor genre -_- people need to learn that Periphery made up that "TERM" as a joke, it's basically just a term to describe the vibe and sound waves that modern Progressive/Technical Metal(core) bands like Born Of Osiris, TesseracT and Periphery use, using downtuned 9 string guitars and poly-rhythmic patterns to create the sound that "Djent" is said to be. But anyone who knows a decent amount of music history & knowledge will know that the basis of that genre was made by Meshuggah

    Fear Factory, isn't progressive. Listen to Securitron, Controlled Demotion. Those are some of MANY of Fear Factory's progressive metal songs(that are known to mix with groove or thrash). Periphery:They're new album just dropped. Sounds like Groove Metal to me, but its also a lot of genres. its at-least like 7. Meshuggah: Experimental /Avant-Garde, Progressive Metal, but not really Death Metal but its VERY Technical and Extreme.

    bro bro...this is getting out of hand, first of all Meshuggah formed in 1987 whilst Fear Factory started only in 1989. Fear Factory only dealt with old school Groove and Industrial Metal, combining it with the basis of Death and Thrash Metal. Meshuggah are famous for creating experimental/progressive Metal infused with Psychedelic and Technical Death Metal, they started the whole onomatopoeia for the distinctive high-gain, distorted palm-muted guitar sound that djent "styled" bands use.

  • @kingplutoxiao1
    @kingplutoxiao112 жыл бұрын

    Periphery isn't metalcore what so ever. Here's what you DON'T know, Periphery's first album wasn't true djent. Fear Factory is Progressive Metal, Industrial metal, Death Metal(with some grindcore from their first album), Groove/Thrash, with a touch of Nu-Metal. I know that because I'm Industrial Punk and own ALL their albums. Meshuggah coined the term djent before Periphery even existed. You're forgetting Djent was VERY underground. Meshuggah just basically claimed the term.

  • @kingplutoxiao1
    @kingplutoxiao112 жыл бұрын

    Not really, somethings just work better as a style then a genre. Take Djent for example, its seen as a genre, but acts as a style.

    You have no idea what so ever what you're talking about. Meshuggah COINED the term, however bands have played before them(such as Fear Factory). Its a STYLE of PROGRESSIVE METAL but since it has so much depth it acts like a genre. Mathcore artists do the same thing. YOU need to know what your talking about, Periphery didn't make up the name Djent, it was used BEFORE their time.
