Good morning everyone, how's everyone's week been? We're in the midst of September birthdays! 2 boys down, 1 to go! I'll need a holiday by the time we get to October haha! So today, as the title would suggest I'm talking blazers, and the many, many different outfit ideas I could make with them! Which is everyone's favourite outfit? You look great. The blazer you’re wearing is $225. All of the blazers that I love are expensive and all the ones that I buy are cheaper ones and they do not look as good. I’ve learned by trying to build my blazer wardrobe that I have to spend a little money to get the look that I want. I cannot believe the difference in fit in a blazer that’s $30 versus one that’s a lil more expensive. $98 is the highest I’ve spent on one. I should be receiving them soon from J.Crew. I did catch a few on sale that were $200 blazers that i snagged for $60. Fit is phenomenal. ♥️

Blazers are my jam! When I worked in corporate during the 80’s and 90’s, blazers were requisite workwear for women. During that time you could get great quality blazers without putting yourself in the poor house. I bought my favorites from an online retailer called Clifford and Wills. The blazers were made of 100% lightweight wool and were lined with silk. I’m so glad that I kept them and I get so many compliments when I wear one of them.

The same with me, I loved my high-quality corporate blazers from then. It’s nearly impossible to find that quality today and I can’t wear those ubiquitous poly linings🙂

I love white or off white with a camel blazer and tan shoes😊I would like a video on styling a cropped, Chanel style blazer. Somehow I can only come up with two combinations🤔

I just bought this blazer! I originally ordered in a 46 but was super disappointed when it arrived as it was waaaay too big. I sent it back the same day, including the lovely Christmas gift. And when my credit came through, I ordered the size 44 and I will keep that size even though I’d say it’s even a tad oversized on my frame. This is an oversized fit anyway ,my bust is a 40C and I have wide shoulders and a belly. That said, it looks fab with my Saint James mariners sweaters and the quality is lovely. Did still need to clip off a few stray threads here and there but it’s a gorgeous blazer I’m looking forward to wearing forever. Thanks Jess.

Being older with salt and pepper hair, the camel doesn’t work for me. Amazing on you. I take your tips and try things that work for me. Love your style.

Same here sadly… When I was younger I had blonde hair and my skin tone seemed more towards the warm.. I was often a little tanned. Now I have silver hair that I really love and my skin tone is really cool.. beiges and camels etc just don’t work on me at all.. although I sometimes wish they did! Having said that, I also have a slight negative association with any colours in the camel and “beige” range generally - there were the colours that every middle-aged parent wore when I was in my 20s and so I forever associate it with dullness and suburbia.

Good morning Jess, it's still very warm in Greece 32 degrees. I am looking forward to cooler days so I can wear my blazers ( I love a good blazer). I have a camel blazer which I purchased from Zara in Australia approx. four years ago and it's still going strong. I usually wear it with a white or soft blue shirts, I never thought of using different tones of brown. I have a few short sleeve knits that I will try for Autumn / winter. Thank you for your informative and well thought out videos, I really enjoy Sunday mornings drinking coffee on the balcony and seeing your lovely smiling face. Enjoy your week.

Good morning Jess 😀. A lovely versatile blazer. I would wear a blazer far more in winter than I would a coat as I'm generally not outside for long enough. Having said that I'm on the lookout for a long grey coat similar to your one from Marcela, if you see any give me a shout! All I can find at the moment are the very masculine style ones which I like but it's not what I'm looking for. I liked the French chic outfit with the simple vest underneath. Have a great week x

Lovely video, Jess. This presentation was so helpful because I tried on my camel blazer just yesterday, so these ideas will come in handy. Also, thanks for the tip on sizing up with blazers. I tried on one yesterday at Banana Republic. It fit perfect, but when I tried it on with a light sweater, it was tight across the chest. I ordered the size up and I am hoping this will fit better. If you live in the U.S., J.Crew and Banana Republic have beautiful blazers. I finally found that perfect navy blazer (the Devon blazer) from J.Crew. I loved all your outfit ideas.

I have two blazers from Reiss, A navy and an oatmeal one, double-breasted and longline like yours. I love them and I'll definitely consider Reiss formy next purchase because I usually go back to where I've had success before as shopping can be a hassle lol.

You should try the Sezane one, love the shade of camel they've used:)

I love Tencel, too, as an alternative to silk. Silk is my favorite, but the selection of silk items is always limited, Tencel is a great second choice and I love its sustainability and lack of animal cruelty. A lifelong silk wearer, when I discovered the cruelty involved in its manufacture, it took a lot of joy out of wearing it. But, having skin allergies to synthetic fibers, there are only a few fabrics I can tolerate, even some cottons are a problem. Thanks for another great video❤

I have the same problem. I have good sandals and boots curated over the years, but I don’t have a single pair of good quality, chic and comfortable pumps or closed toe shoes for in between. My feet always slide out of pumps or get pinched in the toe area. Flats are never comfortable for me and they make me look stumpy as I am not tall.

My camel Sezane blazer is one of the hero pieces in my wardrobe. You can throw it on over practically anything and it gives a chic but cool vibe.

@@FashionStyleEdit I went true to size, mainly because I have small shoulders, but I always find Sezane fits are pretty generous in tops. Trousers, not so much!

Morning Jess, hope you’re all well? Love a camel blazer. All the looks you put together are gorgeous as always, much like yourself! I have a beautiful navy one which is 2 sizes too big for me now but I like the tip you said about being able to fit a knit under it. I was going to get it taken in if I could but I don’t think I will now. I’ve just started moving bits around in my wardrobe as I think it’s safe to put away my shorts now haha! Some really great ideas and combos here. I still have the camel blazer we bought when we went shopping together, in fact I have all of the pieces still. The blue striped shirt you’re wearing is on my wish list as is the beautiful forest green shade of the Chloe blouse, I think this shade will suit me and be a lovely addition for autumn winter. Also I’m looking for a couple of pairs of trousers for my work wardrobe as everything I had previously are too big. 2 weeks today I’m running a half marathon raising money for a charity that helps my nephew which terrifies me but also means the world to me. Good luck with the final birthday fun and cake 😀🎉🤣 my 3 boys are spread out but my eldest will be 19 in 4 weeks! 😱 where does the time go!! A blazer is such a great staple, like a camel coat. I'm on the hunt for a nice blazer but I need to get my backside out to the shops to try them on as I've not had great success trying to find one online. I'm just under 5ft 2ins and busty but relaxed styles tend to swamp me and invariably the sleeves are more suited to an ape. 🙄😂

Love my blazers! I live near San Francisco where we have cool weather most of the year, so they are the perfect piece nearly year round.

I second the request for a winter waistcoat video. I'm struggling to find a wool waistcoat anywhere. I'm trying to cut down the amount of polyester I buy. I've got a couple of linen waistcoats from Mango that were great for the summer but don't quite work for the winter so I'm on the hunt. M&s have had a few nice waistcoat suits but they're all polyester.

Great video! Blazers/ jackets are always difficult territory for me as I'm petite. Jackets are slightly easier as it can be easier to turn the sleeves up due to a lack of buttons. I've found Boden is good for blazers, but unfortunately, they seem to be doing less in petite jackets. But my favourite jacket is a military style from Me + Em last year - they make the sleeves with deep cuffs so you can them back without seeing the lining, it looks as though its supposed to be like that! I rarely go oversize as it drowns my frame, but I can get away with it in a cropped blazer.

Great video. That jewelry brand is really beautiful thanks for sharing. I mostly have found my blazer pre loved. There so many great wool and silk ones out there for the fraction of those materials new. I have a thing for vintage Ralph Lauren petite blazers and have a growing collection. My new addition looks just like the Sezane blazer in brown with hints of red. Kind of a dark tan brown color. So this video gave me ideas on how to style it. I just picked it up from dry cleaners. Tommo for work i am styling it with black silk t shirt and black pleated wool trousers. If you know what size blazer works you can use those measurements to hunt online for pre loved options. Sezane also has great blazers if you want to shop new and I love that the curated blazers are lined in silk.. definitely on my wishlist.

Hi Jess! I really appreciate from environment point of view that you emphasize that there is no need to purchase new sets but shopping from own gardrob can reveal great treasures as well. I’d love to see a video about how to find the perfect width, length and color of belts to a set, I think it adds a lot to a polish look like yours. I have a couple of blazers, my latest one is emerald green and perfectly hunted from Vinted.

Ooh that sounds a lovely one:) Vinted is brilliant isn’t it, and a bit easy to get addicted too! I find myself hunting the house for pieces to sell haha! I talk a lot in my videos about choosing sustainable fabrics wherever possible and of course shopping your own wardrobe is the most sustainable thing of all! Often it just takes a new bit of inspo to remind us of all the lovely pieces we already have and just a fresh perspective of how to style it differently:)

Love all of the outfit combinations. My challenge is finding nice pieces in a petite size. Right now I’ve been shopping Ann Taylor petites. Would love to know what other options are out there.

My favorite black blazer came from Express and my other favorite came from Veronica Beard. Another is from Nordstrom. Several others are from Zara.

Hi. I’m thrilled you made this video as these styles suit me. I am a teacher and also in menopause so being able to take off layers at clients’ homes is helpful. Also, I’m not sure about Paris but pretty much every woman I see here in Cherbourg wears jeans to work. I love your pleated dress pants too but rarely see that look where I live. Good morning Christine, my Husband's just headed down your way funnily enough! Jammy thing, wish I could have sneaked in his suitcase! So glad you enjoyed the video, in terms of my sleeves I mostly lift up the sleeves of the top I'm wearing to the elbow first, before I put the blazer on. Then when I push up the blazer to the elbows it's already got a little bulk there so to speak which helps them stay up:) Hope that helps lovely, have a wonderful weekend
