Burn Un-Noticed

I keep thinking about questions like the one at the end. If you could get all talents at all levels, how would tier lists change? Some of the heroes would become super OP and others wouldn't change as much.

I think tier lists wouldn't got changed that much. They already show relative strength of every hero quite accurately. E. g. Valla is super strong in any build, Falstad is decent in any build and Nova is super weak in any build. So, if all 3 of them get every single talent, they would still be S tier, B tier and D tier as well. Maybe some heroes like Varian or Kharazim would become 1 tier higher or even 2 tiers higher than now, but these are exceptions.

@@soak_king The exceptions are the interesting thing to me. Which heroes would be an exception? Illidan maybe, because his kit all has synergy with itself and many of the talents have synergy with each other. You'd get to both lower cooldowns and buff abilities. Or increase damage and increase survivability and movement speed. Artanis for similar reasons. Varian would be basically twice as strong simply due to lvl 4 talents having so much synergy. Lt Morales on the other hand probably wouldn't get much stronger. Her talents don't seem very strong, and don't have much if any synergy.

@@Pehz63 The hero strength is mainly defined by their stats and their set of abilities. Talents is a secondary thing. For example, Morales in her current form would never become as good as Brightwing or Stukov, no matter how much synergy her talents have. It's just about basic possibilities and playstyle. Same thing about Illidan.

​@@soak_king Talents have a significant effect on the stats. This is why Fan will always say "lvl x power spike" because some heroes have strong talents that really benefit their hero's kit. Like Artanis, a lot of his talents give him a lot of armor or shielding. The reason I bring up synergy is because if you can get a talent that increases how much shield you get AND a talent that increases armor AND a talent that decreases the cooldown of that shielding, then it's a compounding effect. Having all 3 talents is more than 3 times stronger than having just 1 of the 3 talents. If you have an Artanis with big enough numbers that you outshield all of their damage, then you never die and you can win every team fight. But with Morales, her talents aren't nearly as strong as his. Thus I don't think she would be very good in that modded scenario. Which I find interesting.

@@Pehz63 talents don't solve the main problem of Artanis' survivability: he has to autoattack non-stop to be tanky, and he is a melee. This means you can just counterpick him with a lot of blinds, stuns, attack slows and mobile ranged heroes, like now, and he will instantly die in every teamfight, like now. That's why he would still be B tier imo. Of course, it only works in ranked. ARAM and QM don't count. Same about Morales: even with all talents, she is only good at saving and empowering her allies. She is still very easy to focus and kill, she still has no real cc or burst damage, she still has no real mobility, she still can't heal multiple targets at the same time, she still has no waveclear. Morales with all talents is still Morales, with all her disadvantages which make her C tier. This would work for most heroes.
