I filmed this rare and old video traveling from Quetta to Taftan on 25 October 1999. An Oil Tanker Train went from Quetta to Zahedan ( IRAN) through the Dalbadin Baluchistan ( Pakistan ) Desert. ALCO 20 Locomotive was at Lead. A beautiful Locomotive of the era 1958 - 1969.
The Locomotive "ALCO 20" was used by Pakistan Railways to lead Express and Goods trains at ML-1. All rail fains hope must enjoy this 24-year-old video.

Very nice old memories of railway lines but it's very unfortunate that we couldn't maintain it properly.
You people may not believe me---during that trip I would get down the train at water stops---. I recall looking at the railroad tracks---if my memory serves me right---the track were dating back to 1917 or maybe even 1914---the date stamp on the iron rail tracks. The area is high desert---the sand blast from the wind made those rail tracks look brand new---without rust as if they were laid down yesterday---.

There used to run a water train from quetta to Taftan. I have travelled to Taftan in 1970 with my father on his monthly tours to far off railway posts on the rail track. A railway saloon coach would be attached to the water train---I travelled in it with my father---. Train would stop every few miles and supply water to multiple locations in areas around Dalbandin---.

I did not go with my father to the Sibi Harnai section---but did travel in the railway Saloon car to Fort Sandeman or was it Qilla Saifaulah on the meter guage. The meter guage ended at that location. You could literally run with the train.
