Unfortunately because of all the moron resellers I'll probably wait 1 yr later and go into the store in mexico and buy it at retail like I did the moonswatch.

Great video David. Not sure if you saw my video from last night but I managed to get some inside info, corroborated by 4 separate sources, and saw a photo of a prototype. I can confirm you're correct about the automatic movement - it will be Sistem51 - and Bathyscaphe case design.

If it’s the sistem 51 movement I won’t be going near it, plastic movement which is a sealed unit and CAN NOT be replaced when the 2-3 year life span is over? With a 3-500 price tag, no thanks.

Definitely a valid point on that. I remember getting rid of my Sistem51 Sand Irony watch for similar concerns and unfortunately the accuracy on that watch I had was terrible. I’m curious about the WR on this release too. Thanks for the comment! 😎👍

@@DavidSchwartzjr they are used in $80 dollar swatch watches so I think it would be more of a insult to blancpain to use a movement with a 2-3 year life span, isn’t very accurate than a quarts that just needs a battery. I can pick up a seiko Nh35A for 20$ and that movement is very good for the price point and using good parts and when it stops working as intended I can get it serviced or get a new one of 20$. I think they are forgetting people get these as a collectors item, well…. Us watch enthusiast would be. I don’t see how using a sealed unit with a short life is ever going to bring recognition to blancpain in a good light, I’m sensing greed for sales rather than a good / collectible watch unfortunately which won’t look good on a already not very well known “ premium “ brand.

Your video was not up on my subs list. Crazy it accidentally popped up on the suggestions list. YT is working very randomly. Anyway I will only buy that collab if it looks very nice which I doubt it. SS and great dial finishes needed for me. Maybe you are right and PD will make it better again.

Saw a video on this a few days ago, and more detailed info early this morning. Thanks for this excellent video! But at the end of the day this is just going to be more overpriced shit dressed as shinola. It's sad to see another brand being forced to do this. I suppose it won't be long before we see Breguet swatches, Longines swatches,, Glashutte swatches, Hamilton swatches etc. I suppose they might as well cheapen them all at this point.

That’s a good point about where does it end? Swatch group has a ton of luxury brands under their ownership so it can definitely get out of hand with these cheaper collabs. I didn’t give into the hype of the moon swatch and I don’t think I’ll give into the hype of these, especially if they are hard to get, so time will tell. Dood video Schwartz. I would hope Swatch has learned from the MooonSwatch, Better Materials; Availability; Quality Control. Yeah, Sistem 51 would be unique. However, the Swatch is meant to be a collector piece, Not A Beater!?

I have a hard time seeing any of the swatches as long term collector pieces just for the fact the materials used. It will be interesting to see just how well they hold up as the years go by. Nice video, David, thank you for sharing. I personally won't be purchasing. If they are using the System 51, man, I don't know. Part of the reason I enjoy mechanical movements is the idea of longevity- owning something of value that if taken care of properly can last generations. From what I hear, this movement is unservicable. Yep, not interested. Thanks again.

Homage is just a nice way of saying counterfeit. The Chinese are flooding the market with counterfeit watches. Please stop asking for more

I respectfully disagree, as counterfeits will use the branding of the company for the watch they are copying, in an effort to deceive others into believing it is the real thing. Counterfeits are sold to be passed off as legitimate. I have not and will not ever support or recommend someone to own or create a counterfeit watch. Homage brands do not do this, as you can't be fooled by an homage watch. You can try to get caught up in semantics if you'd like, as that is your right to do, but to say "homage is a nice way of saying counterfeit", is incorrect.

@@DavidSchwartzjr the majority of the people one meets never get close enough to carefully inspect your watch. If your watch looks like a popular model, from a well known brand, it is presumed to be so. The proof of this is so many wannabes go out to clubs wearing their homomage watch while highly dressed hoping their watch will be mistaken for a well known watch it is modeled after. Many years ago I had an Omega Seamaster 200 which looked a great deal like a Rolex Submariner. I preferred Omega but grew tired of people asking me if my Omega was a Rolex. Let's not forget watch connoisseurs are a tiny segment of society. If nothing else, homage manufacturers are stealing the trade dress of elite watch manufacturers diluting the value of the brand.

😂. Yeah man, and those flippers were charging crazy amounts for the moonswatch. I’m really hoping that crap doesn’t happen again with these. We’ll know exactly what swatch is up to if they only drop like 200 of each color again lol.
