Good Old Boy Good Time

I love Home Free. They give you everything they've got with every song. Such a feel-good group.

One of their originals is "Good Old Country Harmony," which is fun and kinda sweet. "Summer in the Country" is great too. And have you seen their "Country-Fried Pop Medley?" It's likely to bring a few laughs!

The funny part about this is that Chance, city boy here, is the most back woods country of all of them. He has to use a 4wd and carry a machete every where he goes where he grew up. Home Free: Thank God I'm a Country Boy, Fishin in the Dark andElvira with the Oak Ridge Boys. Voiceplay: Queen in 5 Minutes, Warriors, Carry on My Wayward Son and Tennessee Whiskey.

There's just something about these a capella groups that just about ruin mainstream music for me! This song for example, I loved the original, I was perfectly content with it the way it was. Now that I've heard the groove and attitude that Home Free threw on it, I had to put Blake and Trace on the back burner. The originals with "real instruments" actually irritate me because they clutter up the sound! The sound is so much richer and fuller with just the human voice.

I heard someone say that they now have a Home Free filter. I'd agree. About half the time, I hear the Home Free cover first and then when I hear the original I think "well they just ruined that song, who is this artist?" LOL. The original is fine but I definitely find that I prefer the acapella cover to the original most of the time. Who knew?

What’s funny is that the most country of them all played the city slicker. Chance is from s. Alabama and his momma’s place is way out in the sticks. Tim (bass, or Trace) is from Texas. Austin (redhead, high tenor) is from Georgia. Bubba (Rob with glasses and big beard) is from MN and Adam (beatboxer) is also from MN. This is a good one. If you like bass try I Can’t Outrun You (another Trace Adkins song), it’s beautiful. Folsom Prison Blues, Some Girls Do, In the Blood, Summer in the Country. Home Free is so good but also have a real goofy side. Good reaction!

I love this video! It's so cool that Adam Chance played both the city dweller and one of the 'home boys' just by taking off his glasses. It made me think of how no-one recognized Clark Kent was Superman just 'cause he was wearing glasses!

I agree with most here saying you need to all of them.. but I'd really suggest Elvira, My Church, and Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget. Seven Bridges Road and In the Blood are also favorites.. really you can't go wrong.

And Adam Chance (the "city boy" in this video) was on season 1 with his old group Street Corner Sy.nphony. Another a capella group that I don't see many reactions to is Straight No Chaser. I literally had a pet chicken growing up (lived on a farm) I use to pick up and carry that chicken around and tell my friends (lived in the city) they are easy to catch and would demonstrate on the one that basically just walked into my arms as my friends would chase the others lmao good times
