Eh... I think Corsairs will remain the cooler Eldar KT. At least the new Scorpions are great sculpts, let's hope the rest of the antediluvian Eldar range gets updates as nice as this.

@@CanYouRollaCritit’s also actually a bespoke eldar kit as opposed to a a 40k one sort of shoved into killteam. I think the designers have done a good job of making it work but I hope this isn’t a trend. Not having specialists really doesn’t jive with a killteam for me

I find Blades of Khaine as a close-ranged team if you don't plan to bring Dire Avengers. I also think that Howling Banshees is necessary regardless of what you're bringing due to its more versatile kit in my opinion. Great review! I can see myself picking up the team since it's a different flavor similar to Phobos Strike team

Ah nice, that's great to hear!

I was really hoping that the new Eldar Kill team would have a Warlock as one of their operatives (I know that in 40K Warlocks can only join teams of Guardians, but this is KT and the rules are a little bit different here. In 40K orsairs also couldn't have Wayseeker in their teams, they were an HQ choice for them, but yet they have one in their Kill Team). I would love to see a serious spear-throwing badass with array of psychic powers :) Also, as a long-time eldar player I agree with your opinion on lack of the melee punch of the Banshees/Scorpions and on debuff of DA shooting (having 3+ on Striking Scorpions Save would be also a nice touch). I'm not sure if all those cool Aspect Warrior techniques will make up for the fact that Harlequins have better melee stats, Psyker in a team + fly and inv save on all of the operatives. Nevertheless the Blades seem interesting and fun to play, I'm looking forward to it :)

Well the 40k Corsairs can take the psyker in the unit but warlocks never work with Aspects sadly. Yeah Aspects need a boost, so weird to me still

Warlocks can join aspect warrior teams. They come from one of the shrines. There are Warlocks that were Dire avengers, Banshees, Reapers, etc. If they’re required/desired for a mission they go to their shrine to get their gear. Joining a squad that they fought with on their warrior path. On that note, warlocks themselves could have Rune Techniques. Using their psychic boons to buff the squad or debuff enemies. Maybe having the ability to use 2 Rune Techniques if he’s mono shrine with the one they used to be in. Perhaps you can only have one but they can do 2 techniques because warp trickery.

@@CanYouRollaCrit Sorry, I was thinking about Void Dreamers (from the 7 ed Corsairs list) not Wayseekers. They were equivalent of Farseers (HO 0-1) so they could join teams. As for the Craftworld Eldars, Warlocks may lead Guardian units but for the KT (they are basically spec ops teams) I can easily imagine a Warlock supporting a small detachment of Aspect Warriors in their task (especially that we're talking here about a KT consisting of different AW, wchich is also not possible in 40K :) )

Those stats are a bit annoying from a legacy/narrative standpoint. Scorpions are tougher and stronger then Banshees but Banshees are faster and more agile. Not represented in this Kill Team.

​@hydra66 it would have been a good way to put out a new model for warp spiders....you know how many boxes they would have sold if they had a new 5 man plastic warp spider set? I don't know why Gw doesn't take easy opportunities to make easy sales when models are relevant.

The avengers with no balanced seems like an error that will get errata

@@JB-xt8kp the 3/4 is a mistake because 3/3 with twin shurikens got mathed out as doing less than a single. So it's just a misprint.

I have the same issue with the Striking Scorpions only having a 4+ save.

I have mixed feelings about the team. I love aspect warriors and eldar so im definitely going to play the team. Its just that the whole thing just feels a little strage. Like why did they make the Dire Avengers worse than thier craftworld counterparts? They weren't exactly overpowered in that team.

…Probably would have been overkill or too much stuff to pack in for one kill team but like. Warp Spiders and/or Fire Dragons would have made this PERFECT for me but, Striking Scorpions are cool enough for me to legitimately consider this

Any hints that new Dire Avenger models are coming? I’m a bit reluctant to get the old ones immediately.

What benefits are being gained by equipping the Twin Shuriken Catapult, that it needed to be nerfed to be worse than just one SC? Annoying as Twin SC has been the best build on DAs in big 40k for a few editions - so I'd guess that's what most people have assembled.

I think the Scorpions were just updated models for 40K that accidentally got pushed into this box to make it sell to every Aeldari 40K player. They are going to want them and it’s a great marketing ploy to sell this set. Look out for more range refreshes spamming our Killteam releases if the rumour of Mandrakes is true..

Nah Farseers don't join Aspects now. Maybe an Autarch but that would be too strong

Can you use strike and fade outside of your activations? (You are attacked and win in a defensive fight)

Yeah when you spend a CP to do 2 shoot actions and if the opponent is close together enough

"Blades" of khaine doesn't imply good melee, I don't know why you're surprised they have 4 attacks😤

it's baffling that Dire Avengers were already the best option in the worst compendium team, and the brand new team nerfed them. IDK I guess theyre either going to be buffed as they underperform over the next year, or some intentionally poor internal balance as everyone already has Dire Avengers and they gotta sell those new Scorpion kits

From a narrative/rules point yeah but still a fun team, the new models are great tho

This team sucks. GW was too cautious. This is underwhelming. Shelving this project and sticking with my Void Dancers. So disappointed. Team needs a day one buff.

No anti obscure? Very limited mobility options and only 4 attacks on melee specialists? 4+ saves? Shooting was nerfed? Did they play test this team amongst the currently existing teams let alone on the new terrain?! Now we know why GW wasn’t so keen on sharing info. Embargo date on the same day as preorder date. Thinking of canceling this one.

Eh I think they just focussed too much on game balance without really keeping it in-check to the narrative

4 Attacks on the Power Weapons should be good enough. No team has power weapons And 5 dices on their regular operatives.

Technically Hunter Clade but the dedicated melee operatives in a team of no specialists should be 5 attacks, like with Quins

Every Grey knight also has 5 attacks with their force weapons, which are just power weapon profiles otherwise

Team looks really bad and bland to me.
