I actually think that we can see the same thing happening in the real world. How many young men, who never felt real love, are now addicted to porn? They are looking for the warmth in the shallow and cold websites, where people are presented only as machines to give pleasure, not as human beings with real stories and emotions. There is huge similarity between Joi and porn. I can definitely say, that the plot of movie is real already.

Did anyone else notice that the generic Joi at the end of the movie called him by the exact same name that his supposedly-customized, supposedly-sentient girlfriend "gave" him halfway through the movie? At that moment, he finally understood she really was just a computer program and didn't really have thoughts or feelings. It's just one more twist of the knife in this movie.
@otaldogrifyn

I think that the AI can't create a name, so she thought of the only name she knew, the generic name on her "mind", probably she can have (or emulate) feelings that was loaded on her previously, but she can't create something from nothing. The programming is her only way to love someone, cuz she was design to do that, and if you think about it, humans can't choose who they love too.
@archiereddy9560

yes the point of it was to show that k was never special as he always yearned to be, it suggests that joi was simply following her programing as opposed to actually developing feelings for him. its also a direct comparison to love (that other replicant make by wallace) who adopted the name that wallace calls all replicants because she also wants to be special. basically two sides of the same coin
@vijayreddy8513

I always thought if it as if he realized that Joi was real but she only began to realize her feelings for him once he started questioning her programming. Blade Runner 2049 is the best dystopian movie that I have ever seen or heard of. It is the only movie that accurately portrays the future humanity is destined for: lives filled with empty pleasure, advanced technology, and loneliness. In essence, Blade Runner 2049's world is only an exaggerated version of ours, with sexual deviancy, technology, and extreme loneliness. I can't stress that enough. What also contributes to this accuracy to the future of real life is that Officer K is just the side character, another tool for someone else's goal. The movie was centered around K, even though the plot wasn't, and I think that is a very difficult (but very well done) balance to strike. It perfectly portrays the feeling most people have today: working tirelessly for a system that doesn't care or even know about them. Example: when a massive company has one of its workers die, it just hires a new one to take its place, like a robot on an assembly line. That's my take on it, but we're headed for a dark future. One not too far from what Blade Runner 2049 shows...

I loved the misdirection in this movie, we’re led to believe that K is the child but it’s kind of like through his eyes, we all want to believe we’re the hero in our own story but that’s ego. It’s a beautiful story. What a rare and wonderful treat.

@otaldogrifyn
2 жыл бұрын
I think that the AI can't create a name, so she thought of the only name she knew, the generic name on her "mind", probably she can have (or emulate) feelings that was loaded on her previously, but she can't create something from nothing. The programming is her only way to love someone, cuz she was design to do that, and if you think about it, humans can't choose who they love too.
@archiereddy9560
2 жыл бұрын
yes the point of it was to show that k was never special as he always yearned to be, it suggests that joi was simply following her programing as opposed to actually developing feelings for him. its also a direct comparison to love (that other replicant make by wallace) who adopted the name that wallace calls all replicants because she also wants to be special. basically two sides of the same coin
@vijayreddy8513

@@archiereddy9560 Also the movie is about how thin the line between humans and replicants. K failed the test that any replicant should pass easily. This shows that replicants can actually develop feelings which makes them more or less humans.

This song somehow reminds me what is like to be a human. The fealing of being part of something bigger than yourself, allways surounded by people but even so you can feel alone, somehow disconnected. And you just never stop fighting for life, cuz you can't. You must keep going, giving everything you can as if everyday was humanity last day on earth. Life is duty.

Loneliness has become too common. We may feel lonely, I know I sure do, but I have turned to focusing on my mind and body. To make myself the best I can possibly make. We may all feel alone but I am with everyone in some sense. God bless.
Ultimately,we are all alone in this petty blue rock of a world
I love how this song became the unofficial official theme song of this movie.

Incredible technologies on the one hand and terrible poverty and hopelessness among the vast majority on the other. The huge metropolis is packed with people, but each of them is terribly lonely and unhappy, busy only with his own survival. Probably one of the best images of cyberpunk in cinema, as well as the world to which we slide every year.

Truly astounding edit ! After Dark's vibe goes perfectly with the dark and moody atmosphere of the movie !
This song fits like a glove to this movie.
It's a modern miracle that this movie got made. A slow burning, methodical and cerebral film with a AAA budget. It's one of my favorite pleasures.
В моменте когда она сказала " я счастлива с тобой" - я чуть не заплакал, настолько это было по-настоящему, просто безумие какое-то. Сразу влюбляешься в Ану 😔
When I was 18, Rick Decard was my hero. Probably still is.There was a series of novels based on him. K is much the same . He has that same stand alone wolf complex. Like myself.
this movie gave me chills, one of the best dystopian/sci fi movies for me

I just love the fact that clips are changing some frames after a beat. Looking splendidly.
Hated or used by humans. Hated or used by Replicants. Loved only by an artificially intelligent program. Respected by a veteran of his profession, but because of his choices. A creation from nothing, meaning nothing. Choosing to be something more. Choosing to die for the right cause, reuniting a father and daughter. The most human thing one can do.
I listened to this all my way to Nightshift in Luxembourg.. such an amazing song to drive through the night on the autobahn.
Watched the movie again after watching this video. What a story! And every frame is a masterpiece.
