I want to thank you for making me feel good about myself when I get a new plane. Especially when my wife watches and says after forty five minutes “do you actually fly these things?”😂

Looking forward to the Turbine Duke, myself....but this aircraft looks amazing.

Just purchased the full package. Released a couple of hours ago. Took the turbo out for a quick spin. Handles sooo well! What was interesting, was when I shut it all down, you can hear something like maybe the gyros winding down after all power is shut off. This is way cool! Christmas has come early this year.

I always have a rocker or hat on the yoke or throttle handle where up is raise flaps all the way and down is lower flaps all the way. And of course somewhere else less handy is the flaps up and down a notch at a time. Landing, over the threshold I push the rocker down to make sure I have all notches of flaps -max flaps. After touchdown I pull the switch up to fully retract. To use this rocker I just wiggle my finger without having to move my hands which remain on the throttle and the yoke.

The cockpit looks extremely immaculate for my taste. Looks more than new... Looks like a pre-texture work render. I don't understand people who don't like some wear and tear here and there for extra realism.

Hey Mike, hope all is well. I was the Southwest pilot talking to you by the HUD display at FSExpo, also owned the Aerostar 601P. Hope all is well. Just a small suggestion when reviewing the plane. I realize you want to get it on YT asap. However, I feel it detracts from your otherwise well done vids. Perhaps take some time, do a run thru with the interactive checklist, that can point out switch location. Saves hunting for it during video. Might even consider going over a start process so you have the flow down for those of us watching your review. Afterwards, you'll have a better idea of the flow in the plane procedurally. Now, when you present the plane and review to us, it will flow smoother, and you will have more time to tell us about the plane. Just a thought. Even as a professional pilot, when I get the Duke, I'll still go thru the interactive to learn the switches and cockpit flow as I do in the Boeing. Hope to meet ya again someday. Can't make Vegas FSExpo this year. Best, David

26:30 IIRC they mentioned in one of their videos that starting the engines with covers is possible, and like the real aircraft your engines will overheat due to lack of airflow if you keep if that way

Same here. $69.99 is a major purchase, for sure, but knowing BlackSquare I know I will be rewarded with an amazing flight sim experience.

21:41 about cowl flaps, manual says : - Cowl Flaps : This aircraft is equipped with electrically actuated cowl flaps. The cowl flaps are positioned by the three position momentary “COWL FLAP” switches on the pilots lower side panel; however, there are no cowl flap position indicators. While this may be frustrating, it is accurate to the real aircraft. Full cowl flap actuation time is approximately fourteen seconds. Similar to setting flaps in older model Cessna aircraft, the switches must be held for the approximate duration required for the desired setting. Since this is tedious in a flight simulator, an invisible switch is positioned between the two cowl flap switches that will actuate both cowl flaps at the same time. I will add cowl flaps state can be monitored from the tablet (p.91 from the piston duke manual, represented below number 4) there is so much more to say about this tablet

Smoooooth power changes will benefit you lol. Turbocharged airplanes really don’t like abrupt throttle movements. Wonder if Blacksquare logs slight engine damage from that if it’s routine. And props should remain forward on shutdown 👍🏼

Man.. it's about time!!!! Whooooooo!!!! I will have to take this back to my old stopping grounds out in Tucson, AZ! Fly to Yuma, Phoenix, Flagstaff, and of course the Grand Canyon! In fact, this will an amazing aircraft to complete a tour around the US! Active Sky is not needed at all in MSFS2020. Especially with FS2024 on the horizon. Don't waste your money on that. Save if for future scenery and aircraft!

Were dead! Cockpit familiarization is a must, looking for a switch during an emergency or procedure is a sure way to end the flight prematurely.

Thanks for the early preview. The video quality is poor from what I can see. Is this intended or is there a problem with the video quality? The only direct video quality selection is 360p.

It is a sweet plane but I won't be buying it for $50 or $70. I already bought the black square Baron and don't even fly that very much.
