Lawyers, bankers and politicians don't make wealth. They merely rearrange it. This gentleman makes wealth one object at a time.
That was most enjoyable to watch on a lazy Sunday afternoon. I love watching a true craftsman at his trade.

How do you know that he never gets it right the first time? Does he always show his failures in his videos? I've only seen this one. Still, he got further and further along with each time. And, they improved a lot too. He certainly is a fast learner.
One thing that I always admire about Tor is that he is very precise in all of his measurements, and it definitely shows in the final pieces. That is a high quality smith right there.

Torbjorn is right. It's only too late to learn a new thing when you are dead. I'm 42 and work as a service engineer for warehouse automation. For 2 years now i'm carving spoons as a hobby. Few months ago i forged my first hook knife at home. Just pushed the old chisel into the fire in the kitchen and made my first tool by hammering some hot steel on a little anvil nailed into a wooden brick:D Right now i'm making my first forge in the old bucket. It may take some time, depending on my service travels, but it's fun! @Torbjörn Åhman Thank you for inspiration and also showing your mistakes. The only person who does nothing, doesn't make mistakes:)
I've always liked the blacksmith. Like a carpenter or a person who works with clay. Much respect!
I shall never be able to look at a hammer again and think "Its just a hammer.." This has been breath taking to watch and as some have said, so much better without any music.

I don't know what video you were watching but I distinctly heard music, the music made at the forge. When he dropped the hammer head after he hardened it you could hear the high pitched ring that tells you just how hard the hammer head is. Old timers don't need no Rockwell hardness tester. They just listen to the ring of the metal.
A thing of beauty....what else could one say? Thanks for sharing these priceless examples of your creative craftsmanship.
That is a beautiful hammer. I was especially astounded when you pulled out the first 3 attempts. You sir are a manly man. I love your shop too. Thanks.
I see tradition, I see master craftsmanship, I see the way it used to be, the way it should be, a man, or woman, creating tools for life, as well as producing a tool that will last several lifetimes. I see peace and tranquillity within this shop, I see tradition that will surly be passed on to the next generation. My respect to you sir, long live the blacksmiths, all over the world, hammer time, aloha.

I bought one at a second hand market really cheap, mainly because i don't have the knowhow nor equipment to make one, mine looks 99% identical … still really cool to see how this one was made, because mine was likely made 99% the same. Just not by TA, actually no makers mark on it unfortunately, just a weight mark... Clearly early century factory work, but still made by hand in just the same way.
It’s nice to see a real craftsman at work. Nice job.
