Have to admit at the end, your product delivery is stunning. Makes me want one now. I like how you are hitting one side of the blade at a time. Gotta take serious accuracy and consistency to do something like that. 13:08 ...damn, you sacrifice for your customers almost every time. That takes dedication XD I saw that pain reaction, don't try to deny it. B-) At 8:09 I freak out at first because I don't know what the heck are random lips doing on the top right part of the screen lol. Or at 8:13 or 9:40 when a nose appears out of nowhere. For a second I thought that was the cameraman, and I wondered when the heck did you hire a cameraman...then thought, yeah, it is the cameraman. XD

I did in fact give myself a couple of oil burns at 13:08... :) I didn't think I make a big deal about it though.

What kind of steel did you use

For letter openers I use mild steel.

Careful with holding things between your legs, it can hurt really bad!

My non sharp letter openers are forged from mild steel. Practice makes better. Generally speaking, I would recommend using low carbon steel for practice work. Low carbon steel is somewhat easier to manipulate and has less of a chance of cracking. It wont make a good blade, but it is good practice! :)

@Adam Rhein since letter openers dont need to be sharp, can this be done without a belt sander? (or spending hours with a file and a jig?)
