I think this shows the professionalism of the emergency services. They check every report to make sure it is safe.

I think that's the first fire I've seen without smoke. Looks like sheets blowing in the wind.

Ok on a more positive note..The Tower is constructed in such a way that it would survive hurricane force winds.Its built essentially using four triangulated sides that are designed to move in the wind but as they do actually make the structure stronger.Fire aside its almost indesructible bar tampering.It can happily "sway" upto 12" at the top and spring back on itself.The victorians were pretty good at structural engineering .

Actually the fire brigade was called by several people and were there in minutes. Took the police a good 80mins to launch the helicopter though. Even the fire brigade thought it was fire!

Common sense clearly fails some people. Iphones, modern camera equipment, invariably in all our pockets and or bags. Would take a few seconds to zoom in and take a closer look prior to calling 999. The absence of smoke is also telling, giving weight to his arrest for mal comms or engaging in hoax calls to the emergency services.

There's often fire without smoke. Chemical, gas, certain metal and certain electrical fires burn without producing smoke.

Only orange netting could catch fire to cause that much destruction? How did that orange netting catch fire then? There has to be more information around about how that fire started and why. Was that orange netting nearby a kitchen in which the fire started there first? So many possibilites should have been considered before police make maybe only a cryptic sounding instead comment like that. Imagine being a weather man having to cope with crank callers to the studio where they work after storm Gerrit.

Where's your evidence that the person arrested for disturbing the peace is the person who put up the netting? Unless it was some crazy abseiler, it would have been officially put up by a workman who is very unlikely to have had sole decision, if any decision, themselves what colour of netting to use.
