If you watch the four girls and read what they're singing about, they are each describing the reason why they get into toxic relationships. Jennie, on the black and white swans, discusses yin/yang, she feels that in order to have happiness there must always be sadness, and she knows that she is destined to repeat her mistake. Lisa, the "cereal killer" (sorry, couldn't resist) believes in quantity over quality. She wants it all, even though love to her is a short, sweet sugar high that leaves her feeling empty and needing more. Jisoo, in the church, realizes that she is weak, her stronger future self destroys her with a flaming arrow. And Rosé, driving the car, also causes her own destruction, running herself down in the road, the license plate on her car reads "EGO".

I love the way more people are getting the points of individual scenes in this awesome video. Yes, Jisoo is the pupil of the eye and her headdress is the tears of blood in the lyrics. Rose is trying to kill her weakness but she laments it. Jisoo wants to kill her weak self so she can take down the abusive partner harshly. God, I love this song!

10:21 nope nope. Kpop groups RELY on constant promotions and releases because competition is BRUTAL, I'd say even moreso than Western music. BLACKPINK is able to stay popular with their very few releases because well, there's even little explanation to that. They blew up ever since their debut and even their label and the girls themselves didn't expect it. They became a sensation overnight and it's kind of a RARE phenomenon that they are able to stay relevant with their very few releases. The girls are also ALL talented and are multilingual (which is an advantage not a lot of Kpop groups have) and ALL the members speak English (though only Jisoo is not fluent but she's waay better than the average Korean). They also came from different cultures, as Jennie grew up in New Zealand, Rosé in Australia, Jisoo in Korea, and Lisa in Thailand..so their group and even their music sounds so diverse. And lastly, their producer Teddy Park is considered a genius. He just knows how to make songs that are sure to be hits. Other labels would fight to work with him, though fortunately, he's under YG Entertainment (BLACKPINK's label). Fun fact, Teddy used to be an artist himself. He was the leader and main rapper of the group 1TYM, also under YG. He's also Korean-American. Proof that BLACKPINK are not just one-hit queens is when they released their first full-length album fittingly called "THE ALBUM" 😅 in 2020 with just 8 tracks, ALL the 8 songs charted #1-#8 on iTunes in over 52 countries. So even if they release multiple tracks consistently, they'd still be hits (this is why we are all demanding that YG treats BP better..we could have so much more songs, collaborations with other YG artists, etc.).

If you don't mind I add, the girls are also ALL OVER forms of the media. In the fashion scene, they are in covers across the globe (not just in Korea), their products sell out like crazyyy, and the girls are global ambassadors of top brands (Jennie-Chanel, Jisoo-Dior, Lisa-Celine/MAC/Bvlgari, Rosé-Tiffany&co./YSL). They're also in commercials and even their music is already played in Western radio. I've also heard a decent amount of their songs in Netflix shows/movies in the US. I'd say among all Kpop groups, BLACKPINK & BTS have an unparalleled level of reach when it comes to both the EAST and the WEST. There are a lot of Kpop groups that are popular in Asia but fail to gain traction in the West.

Cool note: Jisoo with the headpiece forms a bloodshot eye, referring to her line, "if you cry tears of blood from both eyes."

In Rose's scene (and Jisoo's archery scene), it is Freudian psychology, her Id (that negotiates between the Super Ego and Ego) and Super Ego (conscientious/logical rational side) are trying to "kill" or reign in their Ego (that is driven by pleasure seeking/hedonistic pursuits, note the name "Ego" on the car's license plate). If you are trully interested in their meaning go see English Priest Reacts to Kill This Love, where they discuss the Freudian aspects and the Greek Mythology aspects (head of Aphrodite' in the background of the Chorus, symbolizing the need to destroy the hedonistic side in favor of the less selfish more nurturing and kind side of love). Yeah, the depth is there also, if you care to look beyond the beautiful girl, great music and visuals.

Since im one of the first commenting i will suggest the truth untold live by bts and blood sweat and tears but with explanation :)

There are MAKING OF VIDEOS for each BLACKPINK music video, they run 3 to 5 minutes and will show you how they do some of the scenes without CG. The background behind Jennie in KTL is a projection screen, like old Hollywood techniques. Yes they built a giant bear trap set for KTL. You can see in the last scene the interconnected sets for other scenes off to the sides and the opening organ scene in background. KTL has some Samsung cel phone and ear buds advertising built in. Even the BLACKPINK b-sides are really good, though some could argue that it's easier to have maybe 4 great songs a year than to keep up the quality if you release maybe 8-15 songs or more per year like other Kpop group's. GWSN is another girl group with a good track record for b-sides if you're into their styles of music (deep house and edm title tracks, pop, ballads, The Keys EP was different from their other releases had a jazzy b-side Wonderboy and some other retro styled tunes). GWSN is an underrated group under a smaller label. Their newest MV Like It Hot is worth checking out.
