Hi! Thanks for the video, so useful.. Does someone know if the batteries in the battery grip can be different? F.e one from black magic and the other two from other brands? Thanks

Thanks for showing this battery grip. But how do you monitor the battery with the grip? does the battery indicator still work?

I monitor it the same way I do the batteries by using voltage

Hey even tho it recommends not to charge while attached, does it work when you do that? Also can you plug in DC power on the side while this is attached?

Thanks for sharing How would you use 15mm rods ? (for accesories)

Unfortunately you cannot use a traditional 15mm rod setup, but I am working on a video on the small rig top plate that works with this setup and has a slot for one 15mm rod on it for a follow focus

@@cryptofitnessandgaming-cfg not yet. There is one that works with the official battery grip by Smallrig. For this one I have found that only the top plate by smallrig would work.

Thats a fairly poor review in my opinion. I just got it today and that thing is absolutely worthless because of one design flaw. Due to the design of three batteries, they have moved the mounting thread on the bottom all the way to the right, offsetting center balance, so the lens and all weight is on the left and the thread is on the right. Which you have failed to mention or even show btw. No one in their right mind should even put this on a tripod as a heavier lens, plus camera, plus three batteries and trust a cheap chinese plastik mould to hold the entire weight on a single thread thats not even center balanced, this is absolutely mental. To make things worse, this combination can not be installed in a cage, because the smallrig cage 2765 makes the cages for original placement of the threads, you could only attach it to the top screw but not the bottom so thats pointless and if one uses a speedbooster, which like 90% of all bmpcc4k users do, then you cant even secure the speedbooster support screw due to the battery grip. I am sending mine back... Minimalists should stick to only using one battery, everyone else should rig up, recommending this product is like recommending to buy wet shoes.

Hey man, totally understand where you are coming from. for those uses you mentioned this battery grip is not a good fit. However there are many uses for this battery grip that you did not mention, like traveling, filming events with stabilized lenses, using as a C or D camera on set. There are many uses where this grip will come in handy, so while it is not a one battery works for every situation solution. It does work for some situations making it absolutely a useable product for some but as you noted, not others. Thanks for watching!
