Blackhawk Films presents Rio Grande Southern & the Trestles of Ophir (8mm Scan, Reel 1)
Reel 1 of a 1963 8mm print from Blackhawk Films of the Rio Grande Southern during its last days as a railroad.
I couldn't find any other scans of this, so I figured the Foam community would want this.
Engine 40, 463, Goose 5 and a plethora of recognizable steam engines are on view

The San Juan Express was discontinued on January 18th, 1951.
463 is now restored at the Cumbrers And Toltec Scenic Railroad

She is operational! Sister #464 is down for an overhaul at the Huckleberry Railroad in Flint, MI.

I have this footage on vhs,but it is in color! I guess they colorized with a computer?

So this print I have is a B&W one because it was cheaper to mass produce. The footage was shot by Otto Perry on Kodak Ektachrome which indeed is color. This is a copy of a copy and I wish the original negative could be scanned
