Fun tune to play on guitar as well, just love that tune

this is a great lesson. i played the bass guitar for 7 years and just got a banjo this week. after snapping a few strings in tuning, i finally got it set up and ready, and this is the first lesson i stumbled across. outstanding teaching style, great explanations behind the shifts and finger usage. just playing the first few notes gave me a lot of confidence that i can start to learn how to do this!

Good to know. I'm going to build my own banjo. Wish me luck. Once I have it completed, I'll come back to your videos so I may learn from a really gifted picker. Where are you now? I'm surrounded by razorbacks in central AR. I would have to be dead for at least three weeks before I would allow someone to put one of those plastic pig hats on my head!!!! And then on second thought, not even then. Folks here are good and special but they eat, sleep, and dream only about their sainted hogs. Go Ags!

Depends on where you live :) We started eating dewberries and blackberries in late spring down in Texas.
