The whole fight was a diversion, just to draw her away.... but also, she was only one of a very small number that he feared a direct fight with. Keep in mind, Thanos did not act directly against Earth until he learned that Odin had died.

Lets remember how less educated and skilled Wanda was before MOM. Back then, she didn't even know her powers were Chaos Magic or that she was the Scarlet Witch. After MOM, yeah, Wanda definitely could've done all that while staying in the tower, after becoming more educated on her powers.

Said the guy who doesn't know anything about these characters and is just hating on a movie moment that's popular to hate when this is just as bad. There's A LOT wrong with this scene considering Proxima doesn't just murder Wanda, the fucking ASSASSIN doesn't straight up attempt to kill Proxima instead of taunting her, Okoye circles around Proxima to fight her from the front for some reason with her back wide open, and overall, these characters are just doing shit they largely wouldn't. These 3 chicks are supposed to be ridiculously skilled fighters, and they're being really stupid. It's also convenient that they're all together..... If you're going to hate "Girl boss moments" you should still be hating on this one too.

Cap's comment right after is why. Wanda was the last line of defense if Thanos' forces broke through to Vision. Push comes to shove, she's also capable of destroying the Stone to keep it away from him. The Wakandans were already struggling to keep up with Thanos' troops before Thor showed up, so they could easily be overwhelmed if Vision was attacked directly.

I don't know about Okoye's fighting prowess. She's already *behind* Proxima Midnight with a clear shot at stabbing her back, but she runs across the ditch wall to get *in front* -- where Proxima can defend herself better.

@@kjetilror9154 No, only certain characters. Capt. America is pretty much at that level and so is guys like Ironman and Black Panther. It's like some of the OP characters like the Hulk gets tone down a little. In the comics, if gotten mad enough the Hulk could shatter a planet, hence the nickname 'World Breaker'.

Someone well trained like Black Widow can defeat Dr. Doom. without having any real super powers. Ironman was defeated by the Mandarin's son who only used his martial arts training.

Yes you are right she is weaker than her comic book version but remember the avengers needed to defeat the children fo Thanos so he can complete his goal and get all the infinity stones. It was a Thanos film, not an Avengers film. The Avengers had to get defeated even for a bit.

It's not just newer movies. This was something that happened as far back as Sam Raimi's Spider-man movies. The reason is that they need heroes to be able to emote for the camera at key moments, which is pretty difficult behind a mask.

Tony removes his mask as his identity is public, so no need to hide his face. Tom Holland's Spiderman's identity was made public, so maybe he didn't care much about the mask? I bet he would be more cautious about his identity after the whole Mysterio thing.

2:06 Outriders retreating, 2:08 If you look closely, it seems that one of the Outriders is giving way to hurry up and get on first.

The choreography of this fight has always bugged me. Proxima Midnight has the Scarlet Witch helpless, but instead of just ending it by stabbing her in the back, she rolls her over to taunt her. Then instead of launching a surprise attack from the rear (advisable against a more powerful opponent), the Black Widow choses to announce her presence...by taunting Proxima Midnight. Then instead of attacking her from two different sides, Okoye runs up and down the berm around P. Midnight, to attack her from the front with the Widow, with predictable results. Then when Proxima Midnight appears to have the fight won, the Scarlet Witch finally ends it BY ATTACKING HER FROM THE REAR. Okoye, the Black Widow, Proxima Midnight; they're all supposed to be brilliant tacticians, but in this fight they surrender surprise, stealth, attacking on two fronts, attacking from the rear and finishing the fight when you can.

To me, this scene could’ve started with Proxima being electrocuted after threatening Wanda, but the audience not knowing by whom. THEN, Black Widow appears from behind with her widows bite bracelet activated, suggesting she “bit” her, and saying her line “she’s not alone”. Then Okoye enters the scene by making a sneak attack with her spear, and then the fight starts against an already hurt Proxima.

This is always a problem in movies. Characters that are capable of avoiding stuff like this will just crouch because someone is going to save them. Like every movie. I've been waiting for a movie that will do this correct and realistic. Not just for the entrance of the 'savior'.

IMO, yes Okoye taunting Proxima was a stupid move. But she was a warrior. And like all warriors, she might've been taught the rules of war. In a lot of ancient texts, its written that the soldiers will follow a code of conduct while battling no matter what. Also, she's never seen Proxima before. All she's seen is her, striking Wanda and that's it. Hard to prove she knew how strong Proxima was.

They mainly beat the Black Midnight's army because of Thor and Wanda. Thor using Stormbreaker and his lightning to attac kthe Outriders and smash through the towers saved a lot of them from getting ripped apart and outnumbered and Wanda lifting up and throwing the Threshers saved many more from getting crushed.

Back when feminism in movies doesnt feel forced or political. Gosh I love scarlett and wanda.

But at least we got movies and shows that were still great and easily anchors the rest of phase 4, like Wandavision, Loki, spiderman no way home, moonknight and more. The rest had some flaws but overall well constructed

"She's not alone" This was the proper girl power scene. All the fighters were in the same place on the battlefield, and it wasn't forced at all.

A lot of these designs were originally inspired from starlins drawings from inspiration from jack Kirbys new gods. It looks like the tanks darkseid used in superman the animated series

Wanda's powers are so inconsistent. Later on you can see she can dispatch Thanos with ease. But when Proxima and the other guy go for her and Vision at the beginning of the movie, she can't take them on, especially after lifting 3 gigantic diggers, problems weighing 200 tons each. Why can't she lift a 120 lbs girl and hurls her across the land.

I doubt it. Thor being able to use his lightning and Stormbreaker to blast away the Outriders was something I don't see anybody else there being able to do and Wanda lifting up and flinging 4 multiple Threshers, that probably weigh millions of tons, is also something nobody else there has the power to do.

This is the point where villains should have been getting axed. The villains getting killed off in one film made it impossible to develop their character over time and have a history with the heroes. It's weird having a marvel universe and most of the heroes don't have a rogues gallery of their own.
