Versatility is another good reason. Also, a rubber strap comparison would have been nice. Both look better on the strap imho but black on black currently really is my fav as well while I have to say that it is a really tough one which is why I'm watching those kind of videos😂

I went back and forth over these two for a long time, but in the end I went with the black. I think ultimately what helped me decide was how versatile the black dial is and how much the dial changes depending on the light. Also, I plan on buying an Aqua Terra and the white dial on rubber strap looks amazing. Congrats on your amazing timepiece.

Great choice! I also went with the black a year ago! I feel like you can appreciate the laser etched wave dial and everything going on more with the black as well👍🏼

I went with the white, I personally love the contrast of the bezel and dial. Another big thing for me is I plan on at some point getting a black dial chrono, possibly the Speedmaster and that just looks amazing as a black dial (unless I magically got handed a 50th Snoopy).

Have that decision right now but my Speedy? black, Breitling navitimer ? black , Tudor chrono? black and on and on so I will go white. Maybe?

I am torn between both, ahhh! I have the Submariner so white would make its own statement but the black could be an addition to the Sub and Longines Hydroconquest and Skin Diver and Hamilton Frogman which have…you guessed it, black. Both are gorgeous dials, your videon is helping me to go to the black side

Like the gentleman above said, “the black works better in bracelet”…. I had the exact dilemma picking between black and white dial, I ended up choosing the black dial, and have no regrets. For me personally the white dial looks “cartoonish”. The black tile looks classier and more legible. Great video

Great video! Black looks great on the bracelet; white is by far the better choice on the rubber strap in my opinion though. That makes black the more versatile choice.

Had the same dilemma but didn’t quite like the thick waves so I went for the prior model without waves in black. Don’t regret it one bit! My wife loves mine as well haha

Love the look of this and think black is increasingly my favourite even if I really should mix it up a bit with others in my small collection… BUT, do we think a new version should be due soon? What do you think, worth holding on for that if we think it may be updated soon?

I wear the white dial Seamaster on a rubber strap. Amazing watch. Thinking about selling the 2254.50 and get the new black dial Seamaster instead

white for me, had them both and the white is far more legible with black hands and markers on white, the black has silver hands and get lost in the dial.

How about the green? I wanted black too till I tried on the green. It’s very dark, almost black in certain settings. I am on the waitlist at my AD. It’s unavailable everywhere and selling above retail in the grey market.

I am confused why is it fall time in Sweden all of the sudden! Cannot go wrong with black. I can see why this was a hard choice tho. I probably would have gone with blue for a SMP300. I'm biased tho bc I have the classic 2531.80.

Haha, I can understand that. I actually filmed this back in October-November. But for some reason a bunch of other videos had to be released before it so I kept pushing it back and here we are… But relax, it’s not global warming’s fault 😊 Yeah, the blue one is beautiful as well, but in my opinion it lacks the contrast 🙏

If you’re going for a black diver it should be the Submariner. The Omega Seamaster should be in blue or now the new white(I owned a 2003 blue and currently own a 2022 whiteface). If I get another dive watch I would get a Blancpain Bathyscaphe in blue. Also, with your colorful tattoos I’m surprised you went conservative with the black dial.

“Should be”? How come? I own one Rolex, and I paid a pretty penny for that watch since I bought it on the grey market. I’m done paying over retail for Rolex so the Submariner is out of the equation 🤷‍♂️ And my tattoos are actually the reason I’m quite conservative with my watches 👍 Thanks for watching ❤️

@@backintimewatches How come? As a watch aficionado you should know that traditionally the Submariner is black and the Omega since 1993 has been blue. I e. Wen collecting over 35 years and I bought my Rolexes well before it has been driven up by social media, crypto, rappers, gray market sellers and drug dealers. I wouldn’t buy one today. Thanks for explaining your choice. Take a look at brands like Blancpain, Breguet, Cartier where there is no mark up and you can still get a discount. Have a good one.

Only one thing, I would never call myself a watch aficionado 😊 I’m just some random guy who likes watches and like filming and editing. I’m no expert in any imagination of the word and I would never pretend to be. I use to buy the watches that I’m drawn to aesthetically. Not so much how they looked when they were first released. Black on black (dial and bezel) look best with your tattoos. Maybe you could get a white on white, like a Planet Ocean for your wife and then steal it from her.
