This song is absolutely amazing. I used to be an entertainer in multiple gentleman's clubs and the hardest thing to do is to leave. Once you do though, you no longer cry at the shame. Life takes you down the road that will make you the strongest.

This song was written by Florida Georgia Line, sang at every concert in their earlier days and then sold to Jason..... I asked them why they sold this song as this song is what turned me and many others on to FGL back when they were getting their start on "The Highway" on xm radio...they stated to me that there is no greater honor than to write a song like this and have it recorded by an artist such as Jason Aldean.

People have the same reaction to Brantley Gilbert songs. Yes, these smaller artists write the songs, but the love it when someone covers it. It gets people to KZread to listen to the song, then they find this version, and discover them. It's how I found Brantley Gilbert and FGL both.

Listening to both versions back to back, i really like FGL's more. though both are excellent artists.. Reguardless the message is key, thats why i like it most. All country music, well most, is about the meaning of the songs and actually have meaning other than just being loud. Songs are stories told in magical ways!

You have to understand how songwriting works. Us songwriters write songs with the hopes that a major artist will put it on their record and hopefully on the charts, that's how we make our money. Tyler Hubbard wrote this song with Canaan Smith and it was recorded by Jason for Night Train long before FGL was even famous. Tyler Hubbard pitched this song to Jason in hopes that he would record it. So it's not a matter of Jason doing everyone's songs, it's everyone wanting Jason to sing their songs.

I love Aldean, but I also am a huge fan of these boys. i think it's fantastic that Tyler could sit down and co-write a song like this and Jason really did a fantastic job on his album with it. Artists should write their own music but the truth is that won't ever happen.

this song really hold alot of meaning to me, i work in a gentalmens club but not as an entertainer, when it came down to me and my son being kicked out and got told if i wanted to continue to work where i was id have to be and entertainer , i think of this song and i didnt do it i walked out and,although i was down i new a better oppertunite would come my way, i could never be and entertainer , .this song hold alot inside the song , and idc who sings it , its an amazing song .

Jason Aldean is a HUGE entertainer and ANY songwriter would want him to cut one of their songs. Saying he STOLE the song is absolutely ridiculous. Grow up people!

Who cares who sings the song...the fact that it can be sung well by two leading country artists means that it is a good fucking song.

I love this song, its sad but its good

I normally only like metal but here I find myself enjoying a country song :0 . It's as if this song is related to rock somehow :o

FGL sang it first. If y'all would've heard it first it would be your favorite. I'm a HUGE Jason fan, but he doesn't capture the pain and feeling like FGL does. This was the 1st song I ever heard by them. They're still incredible!

It fascinates me how so many of the comments this video are about whose versions better, FGL or Jason Aldean's.... Completely forgetting or ignoring the original message this song has to send to its listeners. It's a beautiful song no matter who sings it, not to mention powerful at the same time. I love this song. And the message, holds dear to my heart. And for the record, FGL is better.

If your referring to Brantley Gilbert's song's that Aldean has sung, then ill make it a point to say that its just giving them more publicity. Notice since 'My Kind of Party' and 'Dirt Road Anthem' have came out how much more popular Gilbert has become. Gilbert also stated in an interview that he's happy that Aldean cut his songs because it means his music is getting put out there. Not every country artist writes every song they put on a C.D.

It's amazing that a country song actually talks about a young girl's torment over being used and selling herself for sex. Usually the country songs just encourage girls to "get drunk and put out for free." It's quite a departure for Jason Aldean to record a song like this, since he's always singing about getting drunk, sex and partying (and apparently doing it, married or not), but congrats to him for popularizing this song. And kudos to the songwriters FGL. Excellent!

don't diss songwriters, i always used to but when a song plays on the radio, only the songwriter gets a profit, not the singer, also, some people can write amazing songs but cant sing and some people can sing but arent very good at writing songs, thats why we need people like jason aldean, who sing things written by other people. you wouldn't diss someone selling something for not making the item, so dont diss singers who dont write their own songs.

FGL is great but their voices aren't made for this kind of song... Jason's voice is so soulful and does this song more justice I feel.

"The Truth" was done by Trent Willmon, "This I Gotta See" was done by Andy Griggs... "Johnny Cash" was originally done by Tracy Byrd... "Asphalt Cowboy" was originally recorded by Blake Shelton... and like you mentioned... Florida Georgia Line did Black Tears.. I know there are more, I just cannot think of them right now..

No he doesn't "buy" them, Brantley Gilbert has a video about the process, a sertain amount of he proceeds goes to the writer its kind of like leasing it is how I can best say it but watch his video on it.
