Black Sesame Roll (黑芝麻卷) **😍😍Hong Kong dessert 💯 Simple recipe

Hello everyone 😊today I would like to show you guys how to make Black Sesame Roll. This roll is a refrigerated dim sum dessert found in Hong Kong and some overseas Chinatowns and dim sum restaurants as well. It is sweet and the texture is smooth and soft.
Black Sesame seeds are a good source of healthy fats, protein, B vitamins, minerals, fiber, antioxidants, and other beneficial plant compounds. Regularly eating substantial portions of these seeds - not just an occasional sprinkling on a burger bun - may aid blood sugar control, combat arthritis pain, and lower cholesterol.
Ingredients
Black sesame powder 80g
Rock sugar 120g
Water chestnut starch 100g
Wheat starch 20g
Tapioca starch 20g
2 cups of water
Oil cooking spray
Tools: 10" x 7,5" x 1.5" pan, 1 brush

    Hi Flora, this looks great! Do you know if there are substitutes for water Chestnut starch?

    In order to get the good result and the right texture for this black sesame roll, water chestnut starch is the best choice. you can try to use Kudzu powder as a substitute, but the texture may not be the same. I hope this can help!

    You can store in room temp for 2 days. But it’s the best to eat it while it’s fresh 😉
