I'm so glad you enjoyed this, Sabbath is the foundation of metal music. Bill Ward, their drummer is a beast and their bassist, Geezer Butler inspired many of us the pick us the bass. I'd love to see you guys listen to entire albums, but I think that would prove to be a copyright nightmare, so I may just have to send you their albums. This was a pretty basic song from them, you'll catch it as you hear more of their music how intricate some of their songs can be. Thank you Gentlemen, this made my morning.

This was Black Sabbath's second album released in 1970, and in my opinion by far their best work. I saw them live and paid $7.00 dollars for third row seats from a guy needing to sell his tickets. I am not sure of the year, but it was early 70's. I went to a multitude of rock concerts in the late 60's and through the 1970's.

Sabbath was all about feel...They were groove masters that found a pocket while projecting a slamming ethereal vibe. The esoteric lyrics of Geezer(bass) filled in the mythos. Lyrical as 19th-century expressionism with often overt Christian doctrine to dark magic, social-political rhymes, like and good sermon. This song could be played on soul train. The band shines light on the darkness with tri-tone funk...

Yes a young Ozzy, early 20's. Black Sabbath came out of Birmingham, the equivalent of Steeltown Pittsburgh in the the sixties. Ozzy is recognized as one of the best singers to sing on time, clean, clear vocals. He sat in that bands pocket note for note and always on time. And he was pretty strung out then. Even now 50 years later his timing is tight and on point. Great selection! Powerful message. Four disenfranchised dudes from steel town England had had enough. War Pigs

What''s up young Men. I'm Hispanic so I grew up listening to R&B Soul, and Latin Music, then got into Jazz in my early 20's. I knew of some rock like Led Zeppelin and The Who but not too many other groups until I got older. I didn't listen to Black Sabbath until maybe 20 years ago in my 40's. I'll be 62 in a few months so my music is very diverse. Just to switch things up if you wanna see some 'World Class' Musicians, then watch a video called, 'The Roots of Coincidence' by The Pat Metheny Group or 'Romantic Warrior' by Return to Forever. You haven't experienced 'Next Level' musicianship until you get into Jazz. Not only Jazz but other genres like Tool. I never listened to them until I saw the 'Drum Cam' by Danny Carey. The dude is considered one ot the best drummers ever. Not surprising, he also plays in a Jazz Fusion Band. Peace in Northern Cali.

Most lyrics for Sabbath at this time were written by Geezer Butler (bassist), and the riffs/music were mostly by guitarist Toni Iommi. Trivia: When the band decided to quit their day jobs and go full-time, Toni thought about skipping his last day at the factory, but his mum convinced him to go. When he got there, another guy had called in sick and they put Tony on a machine that he'd never used before. During that last shift, his fingers were partially cut off.... yep. The fingers were on his right hand that he uses to play. He was devastated and thought about quitting. Then he learned about a famous guitar player that played with fingers actually missing. He thought - fuck it, and crafted some fake fingertips which he uses to this day. This situation actually turned out to become part of the Sabbath sound. He even restrung his guitar and used different tunings to make those fake fingers work better. True story.

Glad to see you guys react to the song and not the corny, modernized video that everyone else reacts to and only distracts the music. Back in the early '70s, music videos *for the most part,* did not exist. So, the songs weren't intended to be listened to while watching one. What often happens is some director who might not understand the song completely, has the most influence over the making of the video.. often results in videos that tell a different story than what the lyrics are saying between the lines. *Avoid videos for that reason, especially for old school songs.* Edit: 11:24 The guy on the left got it exactly right after hearing one song.. Nice! They have said many times that their music is not evil and doesn't promote or condone devil stuff... They said they were just the only ones daring enough to address the darker side of a lot of things when a lot of bands were singing about "free love with flowers in your hair." Having grown up in post WW2, bombed out Birmingham England, that wasn't reality to them. Their songs were about the side of things that usually got swept under the rug by the mainstream. Most often though, those songs usually ended with a message that peace and love and God was the answer.

The way Ozzy cries his anguished "YEAH!" right after decrying how the Poor so often are made to fight in wars is one of the most cathartic fucking things I've ever heard. Great reaction, guys! I love how this song never gets old, and I hate how this song never gets old...
“Fairies wear boots” and “The Wizard” are 2 other classics definitely worth checking out 👍

Fairies Wear Boots may be my favorite Sabbath song.

Honestly probably one of the greatest songs ever written.
They were the birth of heavy riffs and beats. Nothing was the same after Sabbath hit the scene in 1970 ! Many people say it was the birth of heavy metal.

The guitar player had an accident and lost the tips of some of his fingers. He then created some fake tips for his fingers and went on to create this excellent music.

Black Sabbath for sure spit truth. Inspired generations to come. Legendary. Ozzy Osbourne on vocals, Tony Iommi on guitar, Geezer Butler on Bass, Bill Ward on Drums.
Yes, that's OZZY! Glad ya'll didn't play the fan video that is popular. You could start at album 1 like you did with Zeppelin 😆🤙
Bill Ward beats those drums like they owe him money! Everyone was on point in this one.
These dudes were ahead of there time. The best then notes. The lyrics are deep
MORE Sabbath! Hand of Doom next. Heavy, bluesy, jazzy as fuck
Best heavy metal band of all times ! Their awesome song list is forever ! 🤘🏻
Bill ward is a beast on the drums 🥁 Live version is a mandatory must see /Hear🔥💪😎
Me and my cousin used to walk around with a big Telefunken radio powered by a motorcycle battery in a ammunition case blasting this stuff. This shit is the goat.
You got to see them play this live in Paris 1971. One of my favourite live performances. The band is on fire.

Unfortunately they are falling for all over again with Ukraine.
I've always felt this was Sabbath's Magnum Opus. The lyrics, the drums, the guitar, the bass, the song structure, everything is perfect.
Finally you guys get to the greatest. In my opinion, they rival Zeppelin. Bonham's favorite drummer was Bill Ward. Watch the live version of this in Paris from 1970 and you'll know why. React to WARNING off their first album and then pick your jaws up off the floor. I can live with their first 5 albums without another song and die a happy man.
Can’t wait for more sabbath reactions. I enjoy your works guys!!
Yup that’s Ozzy you should both watch it live from Paris in 1970 it’s breathtaking !!!!👊
Great reaction guys. One of the most relevant songs about war ever written. But just really wanted to say this to you guys, please, please react to war pigs live in Paris 1970. I guarantee you won’t regret it. It’s at least twice as good as the studio version, and I’m underselling it.
"Hand Of Doom".....is a Black Sabbath gem.
Great reaction guys. The 1970 live concert version filmed in Paris is worth checking out, I think it's even better, so raw and really shows off their individual musical talents perfectly

Love Sabbath! Iron man is just great! Saw them in 1974 at California Jam….great music, vibes under the California sun!
Sabbath and this track have become pop culture phenomena over the past 53 years and are now thought of as not only the first and best heavy metal band but also one of the best Rock bands, period. Try going back to the first album and start with their self titled debut tune and go from there. You do a good job and will get even better with experience. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
Bill Ward really tears his drums up in this song. Black Sabbath was awesome in concert, one of the bands I’ll never forget.
Yes, its Ozzy singing!! Watch the official video and also the live performance in Paris in 1970🎶🎸🎵
Most lyrics for Sabbath at this time were written by Geezer Butler (bassist), and the riffs/music were mostly by guitarist Toni Iommi. True story.
This was around 1970. Sabbath first 4 albums or so are pure fire. Recorded very well. Time for a deep dive gentlemen
My first 8 track 16 years old, mind blown.still relevant today

They were the godfathers of Metal and for me still the best, the only Metal band that comes close is TOOL. Glad you guys liked it.Another band that will blow your minds is YES.Go checkout Roundabout and be prepared to be amazed! ROCK ON!
There is a live Paris video of this song which is just the best !!! Its so fresh, so tight, the funk is so hard, the jazz is fly , the Hair is majestic and Ozzy is imperious ... oh and the drummer, you have to watch it

I knew you lads would love this. My favourite tune for decades. You are in for such a treat with this band. Great reaction.
They have so many masterpieces but this was the first one I heard alone in my room after a joint, and man I instantly fell in love with Black Sabbath.
Ive listened to this almost every week for years...and every time I'm smazed at how musically sophisticated its is AND the virtuosity of the musicians...that bass...the drums...the groove...It is absolutely outstanding. Every one is so familiar with heavy metal as a genre but people forget that Sabbath were the progenitors. Factory and foundry workers from Brum. Awesome. Awesome!

Nice work guys!! Sabbath is my favorite band! How about "Supernaut" from Vol 4, or "Snowblind" from the same record, incredible stuff. Also "Planet Caravan" is very groovy...:) Every song from the Ozzy years is incredible, can't think of one that isn't great! Ozzy's voice & Geezer's lyrics were a match made in heaven. Sitting on top of Tony's (Chopped off finger) Doom metal riffs & Bill Wards "Big Band" style drums, it's beyond magical!!
Oh my oh my….the beginning….this lead guitarist is worth lots of listens. Ozzy is great on this as well. ❤️🎼❤️
