I'm a die-hard Black Sabbath fan and I'm an ok listener of Judas Priest song. But I totally dig Rob's singing in this Sabbath show, he's a humble guy and a hell of a frontman. It's not easy for a human being to do a complete show with the band of Sir Anthony Frank Iommi, especially with Geezer and Bill.

To all you arm-chair performers out their. I have been singing since I was 16 yrs. old, I am now 50. I have sang around 20 Ozzy/Sabbath songs with Ozzy and Dio as the vocalists. I have sang around 60 Priest songs over the years, from "Out in the Cold" to classics like "Victim Of Changes" and " Electric Eye", "Tyrant", "The Ripper, " Desert Plains, etc. If you think that playing a show with Priest, and then doing another show with Sabbath is easy....YOU ARE FUCKING SADLY MISTAKEN!! For Rob who probably had a short time to brush up on this material, and at his age at the time...This is a really good performance. Two totally different voices...PERIOD. It's like being in the cover bands I was in for years, Rob has never been in a cover band, compared to singing your own material, it's a totally different animal!! It's not easy, for years I sang everything from Priest, Maiden, Dio, Whitesnake, Ozzy, Sabbath, Zepplin, Queensryche, Evergrey, Fates, Dream Theatre. It took me years to get to a place where I could go from band to band, singers with totally different styles. Then when we decided to do original material, it was very difficult to put my own style into those songs. So give him a break, he's doing quite well thank you. If you listen to the new cd, he sounds better than he has in years.

@@zachbartlett2829 You can't call a complete ass to someone who never failed to appear on a scheduled show. Dio refused from day 1 to participate on ozzfest but Sabbath still insisted on doing the show. It's not like Dio's just pulled off at last minute or something. He never liked Ozzy for how he treated his staff and other artists on his Shows so he always refused to work with him. But Sabbath just said yes in order to pull some sweet nostalgia money. Tommi is more to blame then Ronnie on this one

As far as this show, it was said that Ozzy came down with bronchitis and was at University of Penn hospital. I asked a few that I knew that worked there. Heard nothing of Ozzy being there. Later it was rumored Ozz partied with Slipknot to the point he was too messed up to perform.

Black Sabbath screwed DIO by signing to open for OZZY. DIO took offense and quit BLACK SABBATH. ROB HALFORD stood in for DIO as a favor for SABBATH last minute. He was obviously nervous and unprepared. But he had the balls and pulled it off. Lest we forget.

Vlad Vampirelord but it was nice of ozzy to do it for Sabbath since ozzy was still more in the lime light... There were years where Sabbath albums didnt even chart and I think ozzys always been on the charts ...so its nice that they could get more modern exposure... Guess dio had his own opinions

And how exactly did Sabbath screw Dio? by the sounds of it Dio didn't give a shit about Sabbath or their fans. Still a great singer though.

By bringing on DIO to do an excellent album and then disgracing him by setting him up to OPEN for OZZY who was the original singer thus making DIO and BLACK SABBATH seem inferior to OZZY. It is a pride thing. DIO had pride and a notion of self worth. There was no way he was going to open for OZZY regardless of OZZY's obvious talent.

How can anyone bust Halford's balls here? The guy stepped in to give the fans their money's worth and did a commendable job! Half these assholes commenting wouldn't give this kinda effort at work. Much less do it after you were done for the day to boot. Stop dumping on a guy who gave a shit about the fans.
