Even though they were rivals you can tell Attuma and Okoye both respected each other as fighters. Attuma seen Okoye as a formidable fighter and even gave back her weapon to finish fighting him, instead of killing her unarmed. He even referred to her as warrior towards the end of the movie in their rematch.

In almost any medium if you disarm someone and then casually kick their weapon back to them, its always meant as a gesture of disrespect. Youre basically saying "yeah youre not on my level. Take your weapon back so I can play with you a little longer." Its fitting for Attuma. Hes supposed to be an arrogant prick.

When he made her make contact with the spear and she disconnected her shoulder, and then immediately POPs it back into place to continue fighting will make this scene even more amazing 💛

Let’s not forget. Let’s not get it twisted. Okoye has no heart-shaped herb running through her system. No super-soldier serum. Yet time and again, NOT ONLY punches above her weight, not only holds her own, but “bests the best” of land, sea, and space.

Many people don't like Namor's physique but to be honest, he has a great physique and the trunks just ruined his shape. The reason why attuma and M'baku look so good is because the outfit fits them and if they gave Namor the scale-like leggings like in the newer comics, it would look soooo much better, but it still looks good tho

@@jmscoper6228 Ramonda agreed and even went along to command to bring her to Wakanda, so she shouldn't be mad at her, but her emotions took over. second if anything, Namor is a hypocrite for putting the blame on Ramonda when he specifically told them to help him find the scientist, until his henchmen attacked them out of nowhere and abducted Shuri which was a reasonable reaction to attack 2 of his people to save her when the last thing they did was order to kill Shuri when she was being rescued. Ramonda died because Namor was a dumbass.

That was a brilliant tactical move! Dude is a true warrior, that comes from learning years of battle. Smart and effective. Im sure Okoye will either learn that move or avoid it if she is ever put in that position again

Mesoamericans would play a game where they bunted a medium sized ball off of their hips in an attempt to bunt it with enough force to pass it through a small hole the same size as the ball, maybe a centimeter or two bigger than the ball. Its kinda like basketball but you don't play it with your hands as much and the hoop is vertical instead of horizontal. I've played a few times and it's a one helluva workout. It takes a moment to get use to it, especially if you are new to the sport. But the people are very welcoming and open minded. Sorry for the factual digest. I just thought people should know. Where on earth in this scene did you get the idea that she bested him? Other than a kick to the nuts and a dig in his neck he beat her like she stole something. In the end she needed a next level tech suit to beat him. "Bested him" lol. People are weird.

Might be one of my top 3 favorite fights in the mcu for me. The male squad leader is such a sick character, and showcasing his skill & sheer strength vs arguably the most dangerous person in Wakanda at the time. Epic

Now that The Last Wish is on Netflix I feel like a lot more people gonna get this reference.

No music always makes for the best fights. Only sounds are clangs and grunts. Adds so much to the drama and desperation for whichever side inevitably starts to lose.

Keeping in mind she is a regular human. Fighting against multiple mutants with powers . She gets all the respect 🫡!!! #truewarrior

Attuma was absolutely badass. Loved his Hammerhead shark skull headdress.

I love this fight so much and the fact that it has no music makes the scene so much better, thou I do wish Okoye took on Namora that would’ve been a great fight too

Easily the best and my favourite scene in Wakanda Forever

What makes this fight even more exciting is the lack of music. Just grunts of the combatants and the metallic *clang* of blade against blade, mixed with a deadly silence. Like the whole world is holding its breath, the fear of loss is tangible. Great fight choreo too. Chapeau!

I liked how he used his hips to hit the lil water bomb reassembling the aztec ball game. It be the little details. Marvel really went all out with this movie

For me, the most impressive thing about the Talokan people was riding on Orca. As soon as I saw that, it made believe that they were the most powerful in this movie.

God I'd listen to Mabel speaking Mayan for hours and I'd never get tired of it.

Dang she really made you feel like it hurt just to block that hit that made her slide back like 10 feet. I did not expect the camera angle they used there either where they made the railing of the highway move closer instead of showing her from a wide shot sliding to the railing.

Why is it hilarious that shuri wakes up because of the water

Okeye & the Dora milaje are basically like Spartans. Trained from young, bred to become the finest warriors. Her fighting skills rwith that spear rival a super- soldier and she bested three mutants. Love the lack of score, the cinematography, composition and editing. This fight sequence is fire. Easily one of the best in the MCU.

What makes this fight fun is that neither side is taking chances and want to end the fight quickly. Okoye knows that she's out of her depth here (no pun intended). If she gets tired or worse injured, its over for her, Riri, and the princess. Attuma wants to end the fight both due to okoye posing a threat, and that the quicker they finish, the less chance they have of being seen.

okoye needs to be appreciated more, the talokans have super strength, she is just a skilled warrior and she took down 3 warriors and gave a tough time for him to take her down, i like the climax where she gets the suit and whoop all of these guys asses

I feel like rhis whole scene took inspiration from the past and future, when he threw back her spear I remember death telling Puss to pick it up, and when he beat her I imagined the kill bill scene but imagined him thinking, little black girl, likes to play with vibranium weapons.

I was legitimately worried they were gonna kill off Okoye here.

Okoye is a true warrior. The way she looked down and out, and got back up to go again. Massive respect. No powers too.

The lack of music or any leitmotif in this battle gives more emphasis to the sounds of the weapons and metal clashing against one another.

This is exactly why the Black Panther mantle should have been given to Okoye and not to skinny science girl. That would have made this movie more successful. Okoye always fought side by side with Tchalla, she is stronger and more battle-tested than anyone. So Shuri beating Namor made him look very dumb and weak. He lost to the weakest and least experienced warrior from Wakanda that took the herb.

Love the costume that attuma is wearing and speaking of attuma will we ever see him again in an upcoming mcu movie

Throughout the movie, I thought of Attuma only. I thought he was the most beautiful character designed in this movie. There was a lot of them obviously and various costume pieces but only Attuma stood out to me most. The way he was in appearance and design reminded me of the head guard/general in the movie Apocalypto. He was the first person I thought of when I saw Attuma and for a moment I thought it was the same actor. But Attuma truly was a brilliant piece of work!

Incredible fight scene very skilled, athletic, very well choreograph. Costumes are amazing

World building in Black Panther was the best in the franchise.

As of 2023, vibranium is not that rare anymore. These Talokaniens have it coursing through their veins. That's why they look blue out of the water and not blue when they're underwater.
