All the content in it comes from one of Chinese four Famous novels, "Journey to the West". There is no Doubt, this will be China's first 3A masterpiece. I really glad you guys like these things which are basically based on Chinese traditional culture. Wukong is an anti-hero character which has super great power in the novel journey to the west’ , and all these enemies and skills which Wukong can are all based on the novel. Hope you check out more backgrounds about him if you are interested in.

That is not a hat. In Chinese mythology, that is a magic weapon. It is one of the few weapons that can make Monkey King suffer. According to legend, Monkey King lost a battle because his legs were caught by this weapon.

also if you listen in the background the moment they show the golden weapon you can hear knocking so maybe he trapped some people in it already or Wukong is in it as well.

@@kevinuribe318 That magic weapon is a golden cymbal. It is the magic weapon of Maitreya Buddha. His apprentice Huang Mei stole it, along with a short stick and a bag. The fat man at the end of this video is Huang Mei pretending to be Maitreya Buddha.The nonsense behind the video should be that Huang Mei is bewitching people .

The last thing is not a hat it's a golden cymbal. One of the weapon that Huangmei monster(Yellow Browed monster. Who transfered the Maitreya Buddhause in the last scene)to trap Wukong. If listen carefully you could hear the knock sound inside the cymbal.

Totally agreed about you guys. So surprised you have such a deep understanding that how Chinese kids grew up with the Journey to the west stories and still have a dream to make it happened on scene to present to all the people around the world that the game how their keen and love of the game producers to the stories. That is what we call Culture.

The music is epic

The “hat” at the end is a cymbal, which was used to trap Wukong according to the novel the journey to the west. If you listen carefully you will hear a thump coming from the inside of Cymbal, that is Wukong was trying to break out.

At the end, the hat shape UFO was probably the weapon of a powerful monster, which could trap heros inside it (You can hear something inside it knocking for a second in this video). According to the novel "Journey to the West", the monkey king was trapped in that thing before he defeated the monster. The little monk was actually the monster who pretended to be the "future" buddah, and what he said in this video was "Since you have seen me, the buddah of future, why don't you bow to me?"

As Chinese, I am guessing he is trying to escape a giant mountain that repressed him for 500yrs, a mountain of punishment. That’s what the Journey to the West suggests.

In the TV series that I watched, the dragon king let him take any magic item he wants and begged him to leave after he trashed his palace. So he took one of the world pillar and use it as a staff.

different, the one you mentioned is south sea emperor, this one much closer to white dragon who will become horse for tang sang, but could be different.

The white dragon with one Horn in the head named Kang Jin Long, he was the deity who freed Wukong with his...horn after Wukong got trapped in the Golden Cymbal (the Hat thing at the end of the video) in the orignial story. Don't know why they fight in this game tho.

It's got the Buddhist setting. In the religion they believe there are three buddhas, the one from the before life, the one from the current life, the one from the after life (past, present and future). My guessing is the buddha at the end in the temple is the one from the future(or someone who pretend to be him - Yellow eyebrows king who serves future buddha). This might be related the 'The journey to the west' chapter 65, monkey king faced the same enemy yellow eyebrows king. So the game could be the monkey is going through the same journey/challenge that monkey king has done. And the big golden UFO like thing is cymbals that belongs to fiture buddha which has been stolen by that yellow eyebrow king. Cymbals can be used as a weapon to lock someone in. If you pay attention to the end someone(got trapped) was knocking the cymbals from inside.

14:04 that's not a hat it seems some kind of seal weapon. The main character monkey it's not wukong that's what I heard not sure if it's true :)).....I'm not a player but I'd really like to watch the story of this game I bet this is going to be huge and worth to wait

It’s supposed to come out in late 2023. That’s their target date. But I won’t be surprised if it gets pushed back. Take your time take your time. This shit looks incredible. This is day 1 action easy. lol.

It’s not a hat, it’s a Buddhism weapon, monkey king was trapped in it according to the tale you can hear someone knocking from inside if u listen carefully. That’s why monkey king was running away from it, it’s more like running away from his fate, cuz monkey king fears no one. The music, lyrics narratage, graphic, story plot… everything is just incredible, so many details hidden behind it, like every character, every building, every weapon…there’s a whole individual story behind it. The scale, scope and depth of this game is mind blowing. I feel like It’s gonna change people’s life purpose after playing, instead of a game, it’s more like a epic tale made up with Buddhism, Taoism, philosophy and a mindset seeking for spiritual freedom. These dudes did massive amount of research about Buddhism and Taoism. All the statues, buildings are not just popping out randomly, they have their own names, and they are there for a reason, also all the buildings and statues are 1:1 restored base on real life landmarks in China, yes they really exist! If this is a movie, it should win the Oscar. If it’s a novel it should win the book of the year. if there’s an Oscar for the gaming industry, this one would be it. That’s just how incredible the game is.

Actually, in China, almost every boy wanted to be the monkey king when they were a child😂😂😂

The game looks incredible but it seems linear, I just wish it’s open world where you can explore and discover.

Just like Ghosts of Tsushima, you'll spend sixty bucks and be done with it and maybe a day or two. Stick it on a shelf and never touch it again. I'll wait for it to go on sale. I'm not that hyped about it...

Each and every monster had their own storyline and most of those stories were taken from "journey to the west". The in-game translate doesn't fully translate the meaning. All the word in Chinese mean more than what it translate. The translation are just too simplify, the game developer need a better translator
