LuFuki is a composer, organizer, guitarist, and cultural curator from Detroit who views music as a spiritual practice that brings healing and unity. His art centers around the Black ancestral legacy, creating a powerful and soulful experience.
LuFuki formed the collective, LuFuki and Divine Providence, and has released four albums: Inner Horizons, Elephants and Mountains, First Light, and Love&Light. He is currently working on several projects including XRoads, a traveling exhibit on the history of Black Muslims in Jazz, and Autophysiopsychic Millennium, a creative research-music collective exploring Dr. Yusef Lateef's philosophy and music methodology. This work has been featured at Carnegie Hall and Cranbrook.
LuFuki holds a Master's degree in Near Eastern Studies (specializing in Arabic Language) from Wayne State University, and a Bachelor's degree in Africana Studies and History from the University of Michigan.
