I would actually switch Arkangel and Black Museum, and put USS Callister as #2 personally. Arkangel was predictable and honestly boring to me. But good list :) I think there’s no wrong answer for best to worst black mirror episodes as they’re all well made, it’s just a matter of what individually people liked best

No episode is by far the best, it's a close race no matter which direction you go. Personally, while the payoff was great, the stories of the Black Museum weren't nearly as interesting as "White Christmas" before it. The one about transferred consciousness in particular left a lot to be desired.

I thought USS Callister was one of the worst this season! So much of it didn't really make sense and the technology seems the least plausible. I still enjoyed it but I was just scratching my head about how none of it made sense the whole time

I think every Ranking is well-founded if it contains Metahlhead and Arkangel on Rank 5 and 6, USS C. , Black Museum and Crocodile were DARK and just real Black Mirror like

Crocodile is probably one of the most underrated Black Mirror shows ever! People have boxed in Black Mirror so much into a "techy" show that if it isn't ultra-techy like Crocodile isn't or isn't commenting on tech in society explicitly then it's not quality or it doesn't "feel" like black mirror. I'm honestly triggered! I hate how everyone has such a monochromatic unilateral perspective about black mirror bar National Anthem. It's so frustrating. The show isn't even meant to be a "tech horror". It's meant to use tech as a vehicle to show the complexities of humanity.

I would say if anything represented a typical Black Mirror episode.... Crocodile would be that episode. It’s dark. It’s not “drama” it’s intense and beyond screwed up, just like a Black Mirror episode should be. Crocodile was my favorite just because it was the most impactful and the most creepy (that song at the end)

headbite alien Don't get me wrong, I liked it, just the least out of all of them. For me, there were so many possibilities, and everything shown as she was a child was super intriguing and setting it up to be my fav episode of the season. However when she became a teen, the story went down a kind of predictable path that would've been ok if I could latch on to the characters, but I didn't like the teen at all. Still interesting, but I couldn't relate personally to her so it didn't catch me. Still a good ep, just my least fav of the season

Hang the DJ was so bad I seriously cannot see the appeal. Probably the worst episode in the whole show

I realize the plot of metal head wasn’t great but it was one of the only times I felt genuinely scared watching black mirror

i thought i would love the black museum but when the final atraction was that, it kinda lost me, i was waiting for something more for the FINAL ATTRACTION

For me: 1. Hang the DJ - great (personally like love stories so sue me) 2. USS Callister - great (driving plot, individual and nuanced characters, incredible acting, edge of your seat, unexpected ending) 3. Black Museum - good (interesting concepts, likable character, somewhat unrealistic actions, sometimes too many plots at once) 4. Arkangel - okay (predictable and basic, edgy-teen-cliché) 5. Crocodile - bad (relied too much on anxiety driven plot, zero connection to characters) 6. Metalhead - terrible (Zero connection to character, simplistic writing, depressing to the point of not even motivated enough to finish episode, amateur concept and delivery, thinks that because it's b&w it's gonna get artsy points when it's story is bad.)

I would put black museum higher but I mostly agree with this especially arkangle and hang the dj both of the stories were really powerful and was executed very well. the acting was so good and I was really hooked on both of these episodes and the whole cinematic feel was so good.

1. Hang the DJ (easily the best, for me its one of the best love stories ever told in just 50 minutes: 10/10) 2. Black Museum (3 apparent individual stories that all connected in the end. The entire episode had my eyes glued to the screen: 10/10) 3. USS Callister (surprising first act and is arguably the most solid episode of the season: 9/10) 4. Arkangel (underrated, this was the episode that I was most looking forward to and it didn't disappoint. Many people are overlooking the themes the episode is trying to address: 8/10) 5. Metal Head (Didn't like it at first because I wanted more story because I was so invested in the world! But the Cat and Mouse narrative was actually quite gripping: 8/10) 6. Crocodile (Cool concept at first and I initially rated it better than Metalhead but the main character was not interesting nor were her motivations clear. You could have guessed how the story was going to pan out. The only WTF moment was the baby but that was a cheap twist imo: 7/10)

The foreshadowing in Hang The DJ was about as subtle as being hit by a truck

With Crocodile, I felt that it showed with the technology it had with looking into people's past memories was and thus being more able to catch and solve crimes, would crime actually decline or become worse because people will go to lengths to ensure memories aren't used against just like what the character did

Nosedive has one of the saddest most heartbreaking endings I could ever have imagined. Arkangel too. I mean, that mother still forgave her after her daughter beat her literally senseless and Lacie still loved her friend even though Naomi cared about was the points, Naomi felt embarrassed about how many points Lacie had.

Yess, hang the dj was the best, really love the moment they explain the 99.8 figure, but emotional episode overall.

Why does the Waldo Moment get so much hate?? It’s my top episode

While the premise was solid, I think the Waldo Moment missed on the execution in every way possible. Characters weren't interesting, dialog was just passable, narrative didn't do anything memorable, and the climax fell entirely short of anything remarkable. Still well shot, and acted, just very little to offer otherwise.

Like even Waldo was fucking amazing and that was last on my list. Black Mirror really just can’t go wrong for me. The show is absolutely genius.

Madeline Kildee Shitty lifetime movie? Wow. This was a thrilling episode showing the kind of paranoia that tech that can read your memories can induce. Any small mistake can lead you into a panic since you'll almost always get caught and the confession will be rooted out of you. Fantastic episode with great pacing and an accurate depiction of someone digging their own hole and the tragedy of being a victim of circumstance.

I love USS Callister the most! When I started watching that one, I was like “holy shit.” This episode was the most hard to watch at the end. Dude getting stuck in the game, just sitting on his chair.

I liked it, just thought it was a bit slow due to lack of dialogue.

I guess either you enjoy it or you don't, because I seriously don't see what to dislike about it. I loved the tension, the photography, the acting, the Boston Dynamics-style robot technology being put to use in a terrifying way. I love the chase, the panic, and the bleakness of the world. I loved that it was a simple narrative without a ton of characters or dialogue, and that the story was able to be told in such a concise way; I felt that this gave it more power. It sucked me in emotionally and kept me there the whole time. It was one of the most engaging episodes of the show for me.

Garrett Gibbons well said. It's easily my top 3 for season 4 (with Hang the DJ and Black Museum), you summed it up wonderfully... there isn't much to add. These things are designed to destroy anything with a heartbeat and stop at nothing to do so. The opening scene when we first see the the dog and the dude falls off the ladder, there's a slow motion shot of her turning and screaming with the violins in the background that's just amazing. I love when he tries to bash it with a metal pole of something, the dog is completely unfazed and shakes it off before shooting him in the shoulder. They're completely frightening -- how anyone can be bored with this episode is beyond me. I love they way the dogs move, the sounds they make, their vision... how it slowly turns its body to scan the scenery. The way they instantly hack anything mechanical. And when it attached the kitchen knife to its broken arm?! Holy shit! Oh well, different folks / strokes, right? I love the episode. I read an interesting theory on how if San Junipero was a heaven type digital afterlife this was the equivalent to a digital hell people are put it with the dogs being remotely controlled somewhere distant. I dunno how much I buy that and just take the episode for what it is but thought it was interesting at the very least.

Honestly I’ve seen all the episodes and I personally think that black museum was the best but I appreciate your opinion

Daniele Basso I have a lot of disagreement but it's Black Mirror, everything is well made so it's normal to have opposing views hehe. it's really about preference. 1. Entire History of you. 2. USS CALLISTER 3. Nosedive/San Junipero/Hang the DJ 6.-18. I have to decide still 19. Metalhead hehe

Black Musuem is Black Mirror's version of Get Out and it was fucking brilliant.

I have it: 1. USS Callister 2. Hang the DJ 3. Crocodile 4. Arkangel 5. Black Museum 6. Metal Head Another great collection all around, season 3 is still the best of the bunch, but not a dud to be found. The fact that there's so much debate about episode order shows how strong they are. So far "the Waldo Moment" is the only outright useless episode of the series for me.

Switch hang the DJ with metalhead and I agree

My ranking: 1. Crocodile 2. Black Museum 3. Hang the DJ 4. USS Callister/Arkangel (undecided) 5. Metalhead I feel like this is the most controversial season. If i ever watched Star Treck, or something similar, i probably would have rated it higher :)

My personal ranking: 1. Hang the DJ (I know it is the most mainstream one or whatever, I am still obsessed with it) 2. Metalhead 3. Arkangel 4. USS Callister 5. Black Museum 6. Crocodile I change my mind a lot tho

I loved every episode, I just felt like there was ruined potential in arkangel and metalhead.

Black Museum is my favorite by far, and Crocodile was the worst. Also, don't feel that bad for the insurance worker, if someone doesn't want you inside their head and personal memories then don't force them imo
