    This band is fucking incredible, they're ridiciously talented for their age and the songwriting, riffs, drumming, are just... They are on another level. And they JUST STARTED. How does a band get so good so quickly? I can't wait to see how they evolve, and what their 2nd album will sound like.

    @@ramsoope8520 Cavalcade is going to be amazing, they keep demonstrating that they have everything it takes to be a prolific, genuinely progressive band that keeps finding new sounds and improving. They say they're already done writing almost half of their 3rd record before their 2nd is even out and their new stuff is as good or better than their best material so far. They have so much potential for so many more amazing albums and I'm so glad there's a new band this good out there that's so dedicated to their craft.

    @@traxcanonch.2421 you’re not wrong, but also they are taking inspiration from other generations of young people… this didn’t happen in a vacuum, they had 30-40 years of post punk, post rock and outsider rock music of all stripes to draw from… don’t let that diminish them in any way though, this is the tip of the spear of post rock musical evolution right here

    The term "late capitalism" was coined by Werner Sombart around 1900. Don't think it has a soundtrack considering this death rattle has been forecasted (at least according to communists) for the past 122 years. Although a Marxist for most of this career, Sombart affiliated with Nazism in the 1930s due to his deep anti-Semitism...it was just another form of socialism after all. You should probably find a better term.

    This style isn't exactly my favorite, but that doesn't mean I can't acknowledge that there's something spectacular going on here. They're so close to catastrophe, yet contained. I credit the drummer; if they had a lesser rhythm section, they'd fall apart faster than my high school relationships. Well done, boys.

    Did you see them at Primavera? I was there too. Can't say the moshpit was the best ever, too many drunk idiots, Lightning Bolt and Idles had 10000 times better moshpits, but the black midi set was cacophanously great. Mix wasn't amazing - sax and keyboard were super low on the mix, could hardly hear them sometimes. Still a great time, I'll try to catch them in London next month.

    @@olasmcc7266 the 90s had a lot of math rock too. Slint, hella, lightning bolt, capn jazz, and lots of others. The 90s were like the years that math rock was being crafted and then it bubbled up in the 2000s and hit it's golden age.

    The guitarist/vocalist reminded me a lot of Adrian Belew during his time with King Crimson
