Black Mamba hunting Rodents 01, deadly venomous snake

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Ojatro.com
Ojatroblog.blogspot.com
Black mambas hunts by moving fast with their heads high above the ground, on the constant lookout for potential prey as well as predators. Once prey is detected, the mamba 'freezes' to avoid early detection and continues with a slow but careful approch. When in reach, the snake hurling itself forward, issuing several quick but deadly bites, swiftly killing its prey. If the prey attempts to escape, the black mamba will follow up its initial bite with a series of strikes. Mambas will release larger prey after biting it to avoid being injured, but smaller prey, such as birds and rodents, are held until the prey has died. Mambas sometimes holds off a direct attack on a single prey animal but follows it to its burrow. This technique proves quite successful, due to the fact that the black mamba will take full advantage of the situation and feed not just on a single rat or mouse but kill and devour the entire rodent population of the burrow in a single visit.
Black mambas feed mostly on smaller warm blooded mammals, such as rats, mice, hyraxes and even bushbabies. These snakes are agile enough to ambush and catch birds and bats out of the air and do so frequently in trees or near water holes. Mambas do feed occasionally on other reptiles, such as lizards and venomous snakes, including puff adders and cobras. After ingestion, powerful acids digest the prey, sometimes within eight to 12 hours depending on its surrounding temperature. Black Mamba feeding on rodents was filmed by Heiko Kiera aka Ojatro in 2009.
The black mamba, deadly, venomous snakes serpientes mortales, la mamba negro, cobras mortais, a mamba negra,

@MrApuparmar Thank you. I simply got sick of watching how the major tv companies like Animal Planet, Discovery Channel etc only showed over and over again how one "wildlife expert" after another chase after venomous snakes (like Black Mambas) but doesn't show us anything on how the retile lives, hunts and fights for its life.

Filming with black mambas has been very difficult but I certainly would like to continue on the subject if the possibility arises. Thanks for watching.

@kingbooforums No. It's the other way around. A bite from a mamba can kill in less than twenty minutes but a man y people survive bites from black widows.

Theres a youtuber, Dingo Dinkelman, who uploaded a vid the other day explaining what happened with his Black Mamba bite, if you want to learn more. Long story short, its considered to be the 4th or 5th most lethal, but by far the quickest acting, snake venom in the world. And they are huge, only the King Cobras are bigger among venomous snakes. So they have a ridiculous amount of venom, way more than they "need" to kill anything it wants. He was paralyzed within 10 minutes, and his diaphragm stopped about 2 minutes later. Fortunately he was in a big city and the hospitals there ALL have mamba venom (they are super aggressive), so he made a full recovery, but it took 3 days on a ventilator completely paralyzed. Basically dead within 12 minutes, and hes probably a 230 pound guy! AND hes now ridiculously allergic to all neurotoxic snake venom, apparently its like getting stung by a bee. He went into anaphylaxis and spent a day in the ICU when a garter snake (or some other technically venomous but not medically significant colubrid) bit him. And we didn't even know those things HAD venom until a few years ago because its so weak lol.
