In theory the entire history of AEW thematically is centered on Adam Page attempting to be the champion, falling into despair, learning what it takes to be the man, becoming the man, losing the top spot and going dark try to get it back.

That's a bit of a stretch. If anything, the main character of AEW is Kenny Omega. The company was really built off of his tenure as leader of Bullet Club in NJPW and Hangman's story was tied to Kenny's downfall in AEW due to being mentally disconnected since he left Japan.

This definitely feels like a country-like song about a broken cowboy feeling betrayed by everyone who's supported him and going in a different direction from the cowboy code. Instead of wearing a brown cowboy hat, he'd exchanged it for a black cowboy hat. Great theme by Vincent Pedulla

No. He’s been consumed by his hatred of Swerve, a man who broke into his house and talked about his child over his crib, then watched as that man became world champ to the cheers of the crowd. He isn’t a heel. He’s lost. He rejected the Elite, actual heels. He’ll only co-exist with the Elite so long as it means he gets his hands on Swerve, maybe at Blood and Guts. He’ll do bad guy things, but he isn’t a bad guy.

I remember when I just saw him as "The guy in Bullet Club with the noose around his neck." Then I realized the guy with the noose is named Hangman.. Then he became the first wrestler I ever met... Now he's one of my favorite wrestlers. Time is a funny thing.

Hangman came out the babyface tunnel. In his mind (and reality) he hasn't actually done anything wrong. Think about it Swerve broke into his house and cut a promo on his BABY. The fact that the AEW audience still chose Swerve in that rivalry is everything wrong with pro wrestling fans. "Oh Nana gonna do the little funny dance" hehe "oh who's house, swerve's house"" hehe. Like I enjoy Swerve as an act, but Hangman was the correct man to be routing for in that feud, and thinking anything else your moral compass sucks.

Swerve is so flipping cool it's near impossible to boo him, despite the wicked things he's done, and continues to do, to his opponents. Nick Wayne, Hangman's family, he even brought Ospreays family into things recently!!! It's what makes Hangman's character and his motivations so interesting: he's done nothing wrong

Hangman is the morally justified heel who was wronged by said baby-face yet the crowd turned against him unjustly

I was expecting more of a remix to his old theme but this is brilliant all around (as is having him return as a Lone Ranger against the The Last Outlaw).
Reminds me of Man With A Harmonica, which was not only the main theme of the movie Once Upon A Time In The West, but also the entrance music of Terry Funk when he worked for WCW back in 1989. The year the Funker was at His absolute best, character & wrestling-wise. 😊

Their paying def rebel just to crest the song and that’s it a one time fee. TK and AEW are spending money on good music. Entrance music matters so much. Imagine in the 90s, HHH, Rock & Austin having music by Def Rebel. I wonder if they’d be ok with that
