Black Diamond Cosmo 300 Headlamp review

I have had so many headlamps, and because i use them so much they tend not to last a long time, its usually the elastic band or something of that nature that wears out the fastest, its usually never the headlamp itself, so this gives me the chance to have new ones more often than I really want. So far this Cosmo 300 has the features a $100 headlamp should have. infinite ramping output on all modes. which should be standard. and for a 29 dollar headlamp to have this is actually incredible.

Hey, great video! I just used this light for the first time after getting my truck stuck in the snow on the way of from work at 11pm. I walked about 2 miles in about 1.5 feet of snow. The head light worked great!!

I was looking for information about cri/ color temperature/ type LED chip but after 2 hod on google I have nothing information.. , I am electrician and colour on wires must by real.. Does anyone know at least what type LED is used (sorry for my english ..)
Great video! I just bought that one after long deliberations, it is in the mail. I had in mind going with the Nitecore or a 160 lumins also from BD but decided for this. Have you had any experience with it on the outdoors? Thanks for the review!

just a little. it works great for most applications. battery life is actually longer than i originally thought. certainly worth the money. thanks so much :) really the only issue i have with it, is when its on for a good amount of time it tends to get a little uncomfortable because the light itself and the 3 aaa batteries tend to weigh it down
Hey, thanks for the review. You don't find the cosmo difficult to tilt down using only one hand? Mine is, and the plastic, ratchety sound is annoyingly loud. Plus, the headband stays adjusted when it's on my head, but each time I take it off and put it back on, I notice it has become looser, which is a minor gripe. Thoughts?

Oh man you’re not kidding. That sound is annoying, Unreal how these are the same problems I’m having as well. Yes I have to adjust it literally everytime I put it back on. It’s a great headlamp because it’s outlasted some of the 60 and 70 dollar ones I’ve used. But every one of the things you’ve mentioned has been the same case for me. You’re not alone lol!
Is it possible setting red light on memory?
The problem is that you bought some noname headlamps for a while. Black Diamond, PEZL are the best goto brands

Nitecore and Klarus arent "NoName" the truth is im just hard on headlamps because i use them sooo much. While Nitecore and Klarus are chinese brands, most of the other brands are also technically made in china too, so these days what would qualify as a good brand? i certainly am not gonna pay 250 for a surefire lol
Does it have tilt? And if so, how do you tilt it?
Can you use rechargable batteries in these?
Cosmo or Spot, what the best choice?
Good review, Just a heads up on the water proof rating. It's only on the led housing. The battery compartment is not water proof on most black diamonds.

I wonder why it would just be on the housing, thats so odd, why would anyone just submerge the houseing? lol but thanks for the advice. im so wierd with lights, even if a light was bulletproof i would still be scared to even drop it. kind of like you know how the newer iPhones and Samsung are waterproof? im always terrified to even get rain on them lol.

@@04mach1speed I learned this the hard way. I drop my black diamond in a puddle of water. I picked it up quickly and opened up the battery compartment and saw that it was full of water.

@@rdlman3 I've never bought a headlamp from this company, but was considering doing so after this video. Did you read about the waterproofing only pertaining to the housing in the paper insert packet that came with the light or something? Have you spoken with any of the reps for the company? Also, what's the warranty like?
No battery level indicator on this model?

This information is important for me but after 2 hod on google I have nothing information.. No info about LED chip, how many kelvin (color temperathure) nothing, I am electrician and colour on wires must by real .. However I buy it, I will let you know if headlamp comming .. (sorry for my english ..)
just bought one. took it home to test it. doesn't work after 1 minute... tried unlocking it, everything

you should post more videos mabey make a high power laser like a 10w laser and show how you built it

Yeah I really need to start making more videos. I haven’t posted much in a long time because I have had a lot going on. I really appreciate the comment. Hopefully I’ll have more time soon. ;)

Oh yeah the box is actually empty. I just use it to set my laptop on. You made me check the inside though 😂
