Thanks! We have a couple of these units. This one stays in my wife's home office. She loves it. I have another one that I bought used and I keep it in the garage. It is pretty hot in the garage and doesn't cool as good in there. But it still feels great to have an AC unit in there. These things aren't perfect but I really glad we bought them.

@@zZiL341yRj736 I was using it in my single car garage and it never got that cool in there. It felt great when I was standing next to it but it never got my garage below 90 degrees. But when it's 110 deg outside 90 degrees is a big improvement. I upgraded to a 10,000 btu ac for my garage and it didn't seem to do much better. It's in the high 80's in there now. So I usually just put it next to me when I am working. My wife keeps this unit in our house in her home office and it seems to work great in there to make her room a little cooler than the rest of the house.

I’m also on my second summer with the black and decker portable a/c. I bought mine for my second floor bedroom. I can attest to it being a chore to move up and down stairs. It’s very heavy. I had to bring mine up two flights of stairs and it was not easy. Mine is also very loud. At first I thought I wouldn’t be able to sleep, but I got used to it. Now it doesn’t bother me at all. I agree with the window set up too. I have small areas where I need to add more insulation to plug up some little holes. I don’t particularly like how messy it looks with the insulation sticking out around it, but that’s just me being picky. Since my bedroom is up on the second floor, it gets very warm, and the portable unit has helped a lot. Overall, I’m happy with it. Thanks Jason!

Thanks for the review. I have one of these B&D portable air conditioners and I agree that they're loud - too loud to have on in a bedroom at night, unfortunately, which is what I wanted it for. I also use the strategy of turning it on in advance and then turning it off when I want to be in the room. It only has one filter which is easy to access in the back, and I also haven't needed to drain water out of the unit. Regarding the window vent, another downside is you lose the sound and temp insulation that a double-pane window provides when closed; with the vent installed I hear a lot more road noise and the room is colder in the winter. You also can't open the window if you just want fresh air instead of using the A/C, so if that's important it's better to put this in a room that has more than one window. Over all the unit works well, but it's good to be aware of the issues to avoid problems.

Yeah they are portable but by the time you put in the window vent and insulate the window you don't want to move it.

I have the same exact ac unit and I must say works great, like he said it’s a bit louder than other ac units but not too much, at least this ac unit is very small and does not take up much room what so ever, I definitely recommend, peace

I have one of these AC units, got it in 2023 and it's doing a good job in my bedroom! It looks like there is a different version of the same SKU for the air conditioner, yours has static vent on the front whereas the one in the affiliate link, and also mine, have vents that can angle slightly. Still a great air conditioner!

Yeah these things are pretty nice. They have a few different configurations on the vents now. I also have another one were the vents move automatically. I think the ones with adjustable and moving vents are little nicer. They still sell this style in the 12,000 and 14,000 BTU versions but it looks like the vents have changed in the 8,000 BTU version. We have had this one for a few years now and it still works great.

Ive had mine for two summers and I like how it works pretty good when the outside air is around 80-85. The auto mode turns on and off the compressor based on temperature. However if your house isn’t insulated well or you have old windows or it’s hotter than 85 It doesn’t like to shut off. Everything around it is just heat. The exhaust is plastic and it heats up and gets pretty hot with a bunch of leaks Also if it’s 100 or higher outside. I have to run mine at 86-88 which kind of sucks. Also not sure if the remote has anything to do with how it registers temperature. I wish black and decker made the hose with insulation and a better seal. It’s also good if you rent a house or apartment. Great review though. Thanks for doing a 2 year review. I wish I’d see more of these.

Yeah the hose is kind of an issue. I was thinking of trying to figure out how to insulate it better. I also have another unit that I use in my garage. It's pretty hot in there and I couldn't work in there without it. There are better ways to cool your home but for the money these are pretty good. I think a window unit is a little better because you don't have the hose issues. But all the rooms we want to use the AC in face the street and our HOA doesn't allow AC window units.

Our window is 58 inches. The window vent is adjustable so it can fit different window sizes. But it needs a little extra insulation. I added some weather stripping to my Amazon store front. I want to test out some different weather stripping and make video about it too.

The top drain is used when you run the AC in dehumidify mode. The dehumidify mode will create a lot of water in the unit and you will have to keep the drain hose hooked up to it while you run it. I just run mine in AC mode so I never use that one. The bottom drain is used when you stop using your AC at the end of the season. The AC will circulate the the water in the unit to cool the compressor. The compressor can get pretty hot and usually evaporates all of the moisture inside the AC. Every time I drained it the unit was empty. But it is still a good idea to check the bottom drain if you aren't going to use it for a while.

I've been thinking about one of these but maybe building a surround out of mdf lined with some rubber mats to contain the noise a little. Might get it down 10db.

That sounds interesting. The way a large AC units works is that the unit is split up with the compressor outside and the air handler is in the attic. The sound is dampened because the unit is in another space. So yeah building an enclosure would be similar to that.

Nice review. What about the water? Does it drip into a pan, or does it just evaporate?

Under normal condition this unit evaporates the water when you run it in AC or Fan mode. But it does have a dehumidify mode and that requires you to hook up a drain hose when you run it like that.

Question, I live in an apartment and have a room but have no windows for outside. but there is a large square hole that connects to the living room and i think they made that hole so that AC air can go through the hole but it doesn't help. If i buy this Portable AC unit for my room and put that hose through the square hole through living room, will there be any water leaking from the hose? worst case i can think of is maybe put a bowl or something under neath the hose

This unit does a pretty good job of evaporating the water when it is in AC mode. So that shouldn't be an issue. You can connect a drain hose to it if you want to run it in dehumidifier mode. You can also get a long dryer hose and some heat tape if you need a long vent hose to blow the hot air outside.

Ours came with the window slider and the vent hose. We bought ours a few years ago though. So I am not sure if they changed it. But I just looked at the listing on Amazon and it shows that it comes the hose and the attachments. I would call customer service and see if you can get the hose and the slider sent to you.

I am not sure how to test it. For us we are set up on an even pay plan with our electric company. Every year they review our energy usage and adjust our bill. We have used this AC unit for 2 summers now and it has not raised our electric bill. We also have 2 more portable AC units that we use in the garage. So for us using these units has not raised our electric bill. We have a 3400 sq ft house. So turning the central air thermostat up or down a few degrees can really cause the electric bill to fluctuate because you are cooling the whole house instead of just one room.

What are the temperatures outside usually, and what are they inside the house before cooling?

It's over 100 degrees this weekend and we keep our house at about 76 degrees. My wife uses this AC unit to cool off her home office. I use another AC unit in the garage too. It is about 90 degrees in the garage before I turn on the AC unit.

The fan will stay on. This is nice because it will continue to circulate the cool air in the room. The compressor will shut off when the unit reaches the desired temp and will come back on when the room warms up. Also the unit is a lot quieter when it is just running the fan.

Hi. I have a brand new 8000 BTU unit that is making a huge racket. Black and Decker wants me to ship it back to Amazon for a replacement. (it's on a level surface). There's a heatwave right now. Is there any easy fix?

It probably has something inside the fan or the fan mount is loose causing it to rattle. One thing you could try is to turn it upside down and see if anything falls out. If it is styrofoam or packing material than you are good to go but if it is plastic or a screw than you will need to send it back. Amazon is pretty quick with returns but yeah best case scenario is still 2 or 3 days. Good luck and let me know if this works or how long the return process takes.

When you turn it on the fan will start blowing air right away but if it is off it shouldn't be blowing any air. The sound should be lower at the different fan speeds but if the compressor is on it may not be that much quieter.

Do you have to remove any hoses before using the dehumidify mode?

The dehumidify mode will build up a lot of water and it is recommended that you put a drain hose on the back when you use the dehumidify mode. But the AC mode will evaporate the water. So if you are just using the AC mode you don't need to have the hose connected.

One issue could be the power. It requires a dedicated breaker. The compressor will shut off if it isn't getting enough power. I was running mine on the same breaker as my garage freezer and the compressor kept shutting off. Once I plugged it into a dedicated outlet that didn't have anything else plugged in to it the AC worked great.

The best way to screen your vent is with the existing window screen. But if you are unable to use your window screen I added some screens to my storefront. You can check out the links in my video description. The trick would be getting the right size. The Zhanmai vent screen may work the best because you can cut it to size and put it in-between your vent hose and the window vent. I haven't used it before but this it what I would try. I am not sure if the Generic 5" Portable Air Conditioner Exhaust Hose would fit? Let me know what you end up doing and how it works.

Hey man i have the 14000 BTU one and I had to put a bucket behind the machine when i first got it because the machine kept spitting out water. After about 2 weeks of use, no water comes out. Why is that?

I am not sure. When it is in AC mode the water should be recirculated into the unit to cool the compressor. But when it is in Dehumidify mode you will need to hook a drain hose to the middle drain connector on the back of the unit. So maybe it was stuck in-between dehumidify mode and AC mode. But it sounds like it worked itself out. Just keep an eye on it to make sure you don't have a leak. It shouldn't have any water coming out unless it is in dehumidify mode.

you must have a misprint on your remote. I have the exact same model and the missing button says "air swing" on mine.

It’s probably better to have an air conditioner with dual hoses. That is an intake hose for outside air cooling the condenser and then the exhaust hose for the hot air. Otherwise, the condenser cooling fan will exhaust the air from inside the room compromising the efficiency.

It says it is 950 WATTS and 11.5 AMPS. It requires a 3 prong outlet. A 110V outlet can have a 20 Amp or 15 Amp breaker. I have used it on both. The only issue I have had with power is that I was not able to to run my old shop vac on the same breaker as the AC unit because it would trip the breaker sometimes. I switched to a Wen 5.7 Amp dust collector and I can run them both on the same 20 Amp breaker without any issues. My wife runs it a lot in her home office which is on a 15 Amp breaker. She is also running her computer and TV at the same time as the AC.

There are 2 drain plugs on the back. The bottom one is for draining any excess water from normal use. The top one is to attach a drain hose to drain the water from the unit while you run the dehumidifier. I don't get a lot of humidity so I just run it cool mode. So I don't have a lot of experience with the dehumidifier but I think you need to run it in that mode if you have a lot of humidity.

It is louder when the compressor is on. So if you set the thermostat down the compressor will stay on longer. But when the AC gets to the temperature on the thermostat it shuts off the compressor and just runs the fan for a while. In my garage I turn the AC thermostat all the way down and the compressor stays on the whole time I am in there.

Wondering which state you are in, coz I’m in Dallas Texas and wondering if I’ll need a drain hose?

I am in Arizona so it's hard to say. We don't get a lot of humidity. The unit says it doesn't need a drain hose during use unless you run it in dehumidify mode. The unit gets pretty hot and you really need to vent the heat out the window so it should evaporate the moister pretty good under the AC mode.

@@theadamcalebshow7045 Plus that is only the temp coming out of the unit. Your room has to be enclosed and the proper size to get close to that. I am not sure if any portable AC units will be colder that 64 degrees. Let me know if you find one and I will check it out.

They think it looks trashy I guess. But whatever I just do the best I can to not get fines from them. If it was up to me I would have a window AC unit. But the price on mini splits is coming down. I am thinking about getting one. But in the mean time these portable ac units are pretty nice.

Hi I just got my 8000 btu 1 month ago and I don't know what is going on it was very loud but cold, now it seem to only run on fan even though it is supposed to be high cool, also every time I switch it over I see the Dh and just the blank lines, I have been having issues for about a week and it's hot. Please help

I never run it on Dehumidify mode but I think it is just getting the moisture out of the air in dehumidify mode and not cooling that's why you just see the blank lines. As far as it not cooling in AC mode it sounds like the compressor is not coming on. It could be a power issue. If there is not enough power going to the unit the compressor won't come on. Check and see if you have any other appliances plugged into the same breaker. You can also test it by plugging it into a few different outlets in your house. This is a good way to test it to see if it is a power issue or if there is something wrong with the unit. If you test it and it still doesn't work the controls could be stuck in fan mode or the compressor could be having some issues and you would need contact Black and Decker support to see if there is something else that you try to get it working again.

Yeah it gets pretty hot out here. I also keep one in the garage too. I just added another one to my sons room as well. He has a gaming computer and it get pretty hot in there. I keep the thermostat at 78 and even if I turn it down to 76 it is still really hot in some of the rooms upstairs. So yeah these portable AC units work great to cool down the rooms upstairs.

Any idea what's wrong with the unit if the reset test doesn't work? It won't click... concerned about using it now.

If you are asking about the button in the plug it could have got stuck or broke. You can buy a new cord for it or take the AC unit to a black and decker service center to have the cord replaced. The only time I had an issue was when I had the AC plugged into an outlet in my garage that had my freezer on the same power breaker. There wasn't enough power for the unit to work and the compressor wouldn't turn on. Only the fan would run. I had to plug the AC into another power outlet an push the reset button to get the compressor to come on.

I just bought one of those second-hand but it looks in very good condition, which I don't understand because after a while it accumulates water in the drain that is supposed to be used for dehumidifying, say the one above. why would this happen?

If it is running in dehumidify mode it will build water up in the top tank and you will need run it with the drain hose attached. But in AC mode it should be pretty hot inside of the unit and it uses that moisture to cool down the unit. Try draining it and then running it for a while in AC mode and see if it evaporates the moisture inside of the unit.

One issue that some people can have is the these units require a dedicated breaker. If you have a lot of other things plugged into the same breaker the unit can automatically shut off the compressor if it's not getting enough juice. I had mine plugged into the same breaker as my freezer in the garage and it wouldn't cool. So I plugged it into a different outlet on a different breaker and it worked great. There could also be something else wrong with and it may need to be serviced. But I would try plugging it into some different outlets to test it out before you have it serviced. Black and Decker has a list of service centers on there website.

How do you add refridgerant ?

I haven't had to add refrigerant so I am not sure. It shouldn't need refrigerant unless it has a leak. The most common reason that the compressor shuts off is from begin dirty or not getting enough power. I had my ac plugged into the same breaker in my garage as my freezer. The compressor will automatically shut off and stop cooling if it doesn't have enough power. I plugged my AC into an outlet that was on a different breaker and it started working again. Try that first to see if it is a power issues. The intake vent could be covered in dust and that will shutdown the compressor too. Hopefully it is one of those two issues.

First, Turn the Unit OFF using the remote, then press TIMER. Select desired TEMP using UP/DOWN arrows. Then press TIMER button again. Now select how many hours long you want the unit to remain OFF before AUTOMATICALLY TURNING ON. (I use this feature so that the unit turns on half an hour before I get home from my 8 hour work day by setting this timer to 7.5 hours right as I'm about to leave my house, so my room is nice and cool by the time I'm back home) OR First, Turn the unit ON using the remote , then press TIMER. Follow the same steps as above, except now you are selecting how long you want the unit to remain ON before it AUTOMATICALLY SHUTS OFF. This is good if you want to run the AC for a couple hours and then not have to remember to shut it off. As for the sleep, from my understanding: After the first hour of pressing SLEEP, the temp will go up by 1 degree. After the second hour, the temp will go up another degree. Then the AC will remain at this temp for 6 hours. Finally, the AC will cool again back down 2 degrees to be at the original temp you set it when you hit SLEEP. I think the point of this is for the AC to operate using less energy during the hours that you are asleep and aren't, i guess, really conscious of the temperature.

The vent space that is dusty? I use white duct tape. Fast and easy.

We keep the window vent on so we don't have an issue with bugs getting into the vent hose. But if you take off your window screen you will need to get a screen for your vent hose to keep the bugs out.

I have mine in a “great room” that is living room & kitchen combined. I put a fan in front to distribute the air better. Works well but you need more than 8000 btu probably. Mine is 14,000.

I've had one of these for four 4years, and I've never had to drain it. But when I got a window unit, the difference was like night and day. Window AC units are far better, and they waste half the energy as the portable AC units.

That's awesome! Window units are great! But we live in an HOA and they don't allow window units. So if I want to upgrade I will have to get a mini split.

The AC unit evaporates the water when it is in AC mode. So you shouldn't have to drain it very often. I opened up the drain plug after about 6 months to check it and it was empty. But if you run it in dehumidify mode you need to connect the drain hose because it will build up a lot of moisture pretty quick. It's really dry were we live so I haven't ran the dehumidifier. I just run it in AC mode.

It works for my apartment but my god is it loud. Even on the lowest fan setting it is blasting noise like no tomorrow. Can’t really sleep with it on but that’s just me

When the compressor is on it is pretty loud no mater what fan speed you have it on. You are hearing the compressor not the fan. Try cranking it up for an hour before you go to bed. Then turn the thermostat to a higher temp. That should make it a little quieter while you are trying to fall asleep.

I haven't made a video about it. I connected the drain hose to it a few times and it was bone dry. They say it evaporates all of the moisture inside of it automatically and you only need to connect the drain hose when you run it in dehumidify mode.

I am not sure how to calculate that. For our situation my wife has a home office and that room was a little hotter than the rest of the house. So she was turning up the main AC in order to cool down her home office. Now she can just cool down her office with this portable AC. For us our electric bill went down. If you have no AC and you start running a portable AC your electric bill will go up. I am not sure by how much though. But if you are doing what we are doing the AC will pay for itself in energy savings. If this is going to be your main AC I would look at a window unit or a mini split because they would be more energy efficient.

There are 2 different hoses. There is the big vent hose and then there is the drain hose. The vent hose will connect to the large connector on the back of the AC unit and go to the window vent. The smaller drain hose will connect in two different places. The bottom connector is only for draining the unit when you are not using it. The hose connector on the back middle area is for draining the unit while it is being ran in Dehumidify mode. If you are running the unit in AC mode you don't have to connect the water hose. The unit will use the water to cool the compressor. But if you are running the Dehumidify mode you will need to drain the excess water out of the unit from the middle small water hose connector on the back of the AC unit.

Like where do you live ? I live in the Mohave desert. 110 F in the shade in July.

We live in Phoenix. So it gets pretty hot here too. We have two AC units on our house one for each floor. But a few of the rooms seem to never cool down. So we put these portable AC units in them so that we don't have to crank up the AC in the rest of the house.

I not sure if a portable can handle it lol so every year I just move my work into the house lol I shopping mini splits but I think they gonna be way to high to have an ac guy install it and I not want to install it myself. I’m considering the biggest portable I can find or maybe back into the house for summer.

Yeah I was thinking of getting a mini split for the garage too. For now I just use the portable AC units in the garage. I have a 10,000 BTU in the garage. It doesn't cool down the garage that well but it blows 64 degrease on me while I am working. Without the portable AC unit I wouldn't be able to work in the garage at all in the summer. I have two garages and I keep one in each garage. I use the 10k models but they don't cool as well in the garage because it is not insulated as well but it still works. It is so hot in there that I couldn't do anything in the garage without the AC unit on. Most of the time I position it so it is pointing at me while I am working. It doesn't cool down the whole garage that well but it will keep you cool while you are working.

Is it expensive to run?

I am not sure how expensive it is to run. For our situation it actually saved us money. The rest of our house was fine but it was a little warm in my wife's home office. So she was cranking up the AC for the whole house to cool down her home office. But with this AC unit she was able to use it to cool down her office without cranking up the main AC. So it saved us a lot of money. But if you don't have an AC and you start running this unit your electric bill will go up. But I am not sure by how much? It will probably cost about as much to run as an electric heater.

What exactly is the difference between cool and dehumidify?

You can't run ac and dehumidify at the same time. If it is really humid run the dehumidifier for a while then switch over to ac.

Normal rain shouldn't be an issue. Plus the areas that we have it set up are protected from rain and wind pretty good. But if it is on a side of your house that is exposed and you get a lot of wind and rain you may need to take it out if you have a really bad rain storm that is blowing the rain sideways.

Question B&D is god air conditioning or not?

Yeah we have had it for a few years now. It is a good portable AC. If you have to go with a portable AC the Black+Decker is great. But if you can go with a window AC unit it will be cheaper and work a little better. The best would be a mini split but they can be a little price. So it really just depends on your situation.

What about condensation

In AC mode it will recirculate the condensation and use it to cool the compressor. Most of it will evaporate. But if you run it in Dehumidify mode you will have to hook up the drain hose to the upper drain connector on the unit to drain out all of the condensation that is collected during the dehumidifying process.

I heard these things get very hott is that true?

Yes the hot air coming out of the back of the unit is really hot. that is why you need to vet the hot air out of a window.

If you run it in AC mode there really should be any water draining out of it. The water is recirculated to cool the compressor. You only need to hook the drain hose to the top drain if you are running it in dehumidify mode. If the unit isn't getting enough power it will shut off the compressor. Try testing it by plugging it into some different outlets. I had it plugged into the same breaker as my freezer in my garage and it kept shutting down too. But once I plugged it into an outlet on a different breaker it was fine.

I returned the one I bought after 1 day. Room was 79 degrees when I hooked it up. 4 hours later it was 81. These things DO NOT cool down a room. Customer service was a joke.

When we run it in my wife's home office it cools the room down pretty good. But when I run it in the garage on a really hot day it doesn't cool the garage down that much but it feels really good to have it blowing 64 degrees on me while I am working. I wonder what the issue was? Could you feel cold air blowing out of the unit? Did you have it properly vented? There could be a few issues that caused it to not work properly. I have 4 different modes and they all work pretty good but there are a few things that can go wrong and cause them not to cool properly. Let me now what AC you decide to get next and how it works. If you can get a window AC unit they usually work a little better though.

How loud is this?

The product description says it is 52 db. I don't have the equipment to test it but I got a comment from a guy who tested it. He said, "It can get up to 99.6db, which is loud. 18 inches away it's around 80db but 6 feet away it's 65db." My wife said it used to bother her and she would turn it off when she was teaching her online classes. Now she is used to the noise and it doesn't bother her any more.

Do you have to drain this?

It is supposed to evaporate all the moisture in the unit so it doesn't need to be drained like other ac units unless you run it in dehumidify mode.

I think it is also a heater. It cools dehumidifies and heats.

I googled "windowless portable ac unit" & got this model🙄....please, im very poor & very desperate, & the pathetic hovel i live in has no wimdows, zero...& soon in NC it will be 100 degrees in the shade with disgusting levels of humidity....can you please reccomend a *windowless* version? & are the windowless versions worth a damn? With my luck, no, they probably are not. Damn it.

If you can get a Mini Split AC that would work best for a room without windows. But you will need to drill some holes in the wall and connect it the outside or to the roof. If you can cut a hole in your wall you can use almost any AC unit even a window unit. The Black+Decker portable AC will work in dehumidify mode without venting it though. But you will need to connect the drain hose when you run it in dehumidify mode so you will have to have a way to drain all the water that it collects in the unit. I am not sure how hot it is in your room but dehumidifying it may be enough to make it more comfortable.

If you are concerned with living in a clean neighborhood where the property values continue to rise than an HOA is the place to be. But if you want a little more personal freedom then living a little ways out of town were the rules are little less strict is the place for you.

Oh no! The compressor does shut off when the room gets to the temp on the thermostat. Did you try lowing the thermostat? I haven't had to repair mine but you could contact Black+Decker. They may be able to help you get it figured out.

@@WE-gz5tr Yeah it sounds like something is wrong. it could be something simple. I had a unit that wasn't working and it turned out to be the power outlet. I also had a freezer plugged into the same breaker. If the unit can't draw enough electricity the compressor won't stay on. I plugged it into a different outlet and it started working.

i just don't like the idea of it drawing outside air into the house. it may take longer to cool down a space.

It's not drawing air from outside. It draws air from inside the room into the intake vents to cool down the AC compressor. The compressors inside AC units get really hot and they need to blow the hot air outside through the vent hose. The AC blows cold air out of the front of the unit and hot air out of the back of the unit through the vent hose.

@@ThatHobby I thought about this idea before but didn't know how these unit work. So if it pulls air from the space in to cool the condenser coil and dump the hot air out side, my question is will it draw air from outside? Because the space will act like a vacuum chamber?

@@iceyaj3167 For our situation my wife is using the AC unit to cool down her home office. That way she doesn't have to turn up the AC in the rest of the house. So the ac unit is drawing some air from the rest of the house from under the door. In general it will recycle the air in the room but since it is blowing hot air outside it has to bring in new air from somewhere. Most AC units have the compressor outside. So if you can get a window AC or a mini split that would be more efficient. They do have some portable AC units with two vent hoses on them. In most situations it's not that big of a deal but if your room is airtight the AC unit has to get air from somewhere. So you might want to look at one of the other options. Let me know what you end up getting.

HOAs are everywhere out here now. They make all kinds of rules. They even make us pay for cable. But they don't provide of fix anything. So I am always having to fix things. It can really add up too. But during the pandemic there was big housing shortage out here and rents doubled. So it was nice to have a fixed payment from our mortgage and not have to worry about the rent increases.

We have not had any issues. I checked the tank and it was bone dry. If you have a lot of humidity you may need to drain your tank regularly. I have also heard that if you are using the dehumidifier you will need to hook up a drain hose during use. Not sure if this is the issue or not? Where is the water coming from on your unit?

I had the same issue as Issac, it leaked water and ruined my wood flooring. I swapped it out with another portable AC but now want to use it in another room so I put the entire unit in a 2 inch deep plastic mud tray. I may attach a tube and pan to hold the water when it overflows

The leak happened in 3 weeks of use. We only used cooling not dehumidifier. After the leak, we drained the unit and swapped it out as I was afraid it will leak again at night and would further damage the floor. After a year now, I have turned it on again in another room but put a mud tray underneath to capture any leak that may happen. But now I noticed that while on cooling mode at lowest setting (it’s 104 degrees where I live!) it makes water noise constantly as if a tap is left on in the sink. Is that normal?

@@HetalJagirdarBrahmbhatt Thank you for sharing your experience. So I think you will need to empty your tank every week or keep a drain hose hooked up to it. The water sound isn't normal. It makes me think that a lot of water is building up in there. So a drain hose may be your best option. We are still in the 100's too but we live in the desert and our humidity is typically 20% or lower. So our AC unit is able to evaporate the moisture from the humidity. I opened my drain plug after a year and it was still bone dry. So I didn't know that this was such a big issue for some people. Thank you this is really helpful. I can share this with people who live in more humid climates.

Yeah they give us fines too. I get notices if we have leaves or weeds in the yard. They send me a letter telling me that I have a few weeks to clean them up or I will get a fine.

Yeah my wife said at first she thought it was too loud. But she asked some of her coworkers that she was talking to on the phone and they couldn't hear anything. She also says that she has gotten used to it now and she doesn't even notice it anymore.

I can easily see the class system of ancient Rome creating the perfect environment for a man of Jesus' caliber to have mass appeal. Is he some magical dude? That is a question only faith and belief in an Abrahamic religion can answer. However, there is historical evidence that the man did exist.
