Black Dam males taking over new territory 🦁

The Black Dam males moved up north again after being away from the area for a little bit. It seems like the lion dynamics are changing completely, also since Mapoza has not been seen for a while now.
Early in the morning before game drive heard the deep roars of multiple male lions. We knew immediately that the black dam males were back in the area to claim land. We found them not too far from the lodge still patrolling along the boundaries of their territory. We were able to get ahead of them a couple of times in which then then walked straight passed us. Insane feeling to be so close to these big cats, especially since it was 3 of them together. They were marking territory persistently in order to make sure that there is no doubt about who claimed this land. Epic sighting!

Were these boys separated and 1 thought dead? If that's the case....so happy they're back together and claiming territory.

It is originally a coalition of 6 male lions! 2 males have split and went more towards sabi sands, while the other 4 are situated in the south of Thornybush. These 3 males do most of the patrolling while the other stays mostly with the pride in the south😃 Of the 2 that split a while ago, 1 was missing for a couple of weeks. But he has been found a couple of days ago!

Thank you so much, really appreciate it Kimberly :) They definitely ate the night before, they were struggling with their big bellies haha! Special to have them walk passed the vehicle so close.

@FieldGuideJordi To get that close up to lions in the safety of your vehicle must have been awesome. Lions are some of my favorite animals. I admire their beauty, their power, and they take such good care of their cubs. Continue making these great videos, but please be careful and stay safe.

@@Kimberly-pf4iy yes they are part of the a pride of the south. If I am correct they control the Guernsey females and they do have cubs at the moment!

@@mechcavandy986 Hey I love wildlife and lions and all kinds of animals. Fascinating. I clicked on this video for a reason. But a bunch of lions walking around is just lions walking around. Acting like it's more than what it is not useful. Come on.
