He was so willing to work on that spin he’s like awe man this is easy! Let’s me keep doing this.
3:00 He is looking for a treat in the step-up hand. When he sees there isn't one, he doesn't want to step up.
She's making the same hand gestures for step up as she is for offering a treat. Hes looking for a treat when she's trying to get him to step up then wondering why he's not. So frustrating to watch lol

I could see that feeling a bit like teasing to the bird.

I was hoping someone else would notice that lol... Im like well the bird isn't doing the wrong thing there, the lady needs to use proper hand movement for step up.

I was just about to say the same thing lol. If a flat hand is offered to my bird he expects it to contain a treat, this could start a frustrating cycle with the bird. He is so sweet though xx
I'm not sure if you are aware, but the black cockatoo in Kangaroo Island in South Australia has been wiped out by the fires. 😭 I'm working with a few different agencies to get medical supplies over there for the surviving animals. It's just devastating. 💔

Can the Parrots be repopulated from the Parrots in captivity? I'm thinking maybe we can all work toward that happening.

@@delnita2064 There's a very interesting YT video, about scarlet macaws being rehabilitated in Honduras in Mayan ruins. The ancient Mayans used to call them sun bird and they regarded these birds as sacred. Edit:Here's the link if your interested- https//kzread.info/dash/bejne/aptkz82uYLDLobw.html

Thank you for the info BoleynGirl3. I will definitely go find it and watch it. I used to raise parrots hand feed the abandoned babies and I fostered parrots. I kept a Cockatoo that was rehomed to many times now in his forever home with me. It breaks my heart to hear about what is happening in Australia with the fires.

@@delnita2064 Yeah it's just awful what's happening there,it's heart braking for the wildlife and the ppl..devastating. And i'm glad your 'too found his forever home with you. I'm told sanctuaries wont even take them cockatoos anymore, who's gonna take care of these guys?
Aww he has such a lovely voice! Different tone than we are used to hear on your channel. :D And the "hello" was so cute! Appropriate for the situation too :D
That is a beautiful bird, I love the red with the black. So does my Macaw apparently because he is currently knocking on the wall and telling the bird on the screen to come here. Thank you for another great video I love watching them.
Wow,...what a beautiful bird!!! I didn’t even know that there were black cockatoos until I saw this video. They’re so pretty!!!💖
What a handsome gentleman! Black cockatoos have been on my radar a bit since I heard about the awesome breeding practices of Katy McElroy, who specializes in raising well adjusted black 'toos.

Black cockatoos so gorgeous 🥺
He's beautiful. And seems very proud of his spin! lol
What a sweetie. I adore him.
These are my absolute favourite cockies!!!!! So flipping gorgeous! I wish all cockies were free and wild.
Oh my gosh, he was so adorable and a fast learner. 😍
You have made my day I love black cockatoo species.
Black Cockatoos look so prehistoric. It crazy cool.
Omg the cockatoo is so beautiful😮
WOW! Black Cockatoo has caught my eye from the first time you showed them in Australia. Probably because I've never seen one before. The red tail feathers are gorgeous in flight. Roman definitely wanted to train this day. lol It's always fascinating to watch you customize training for each individual bird/situation.
red-tailed cockatoo is my favorite bird and had a logo based around one I met in Miami.
Roman is by far one of the most adorable birds on the channel, gentle and kind like Sunny, and handsome like Bubba. Their owner is very kind and gentle as well, I can tell they really love him.

OMG this bird is soo cute!🥺 I love him so much☺️ black cockatoos so beautiful!💕
I saw four at my local park today! So beautiful, very loud and very messy! I’m lucky in WA you get to see them in the wild!
I love Roman's sound. Are there any birds like him being bread in captivity so they can be reintroduced to the wild? Love to all, Maren

there are 5 subspecies of the red tailed black cockatoo some are doing well in the wild some not so well. the south eastern black cockatoo are only found in western Victoria & eastern south aus & they are not doing so well last count approximately 1500 left in the wild. the glossy red tailed black cockatoo is listed federally as endangered & i really worry about the population of them on kangaroo island after the devastating fires there. they have a very specific diet which is shea oak trees & i,m guessing alot of that habitat has burned.

Beautiful Bird!
What a beautiful bird and I love his voice!
Gorgeous bird!!
You always provide very informative information
He’s so adorable! 😍
Wow. This bird was absolutely breathtaking. I was totally fascinated with him.
Roman has his spin down! It's interesting to see a black Cockatoo up close, they are quite beautiful. It must be more of a challenge when training him, (not being able to see his eyes), but maybe like humans it's more about body language. Thank you for sharing.

My absolute favourite species!!!
Beautiful bird
SUCH a smart bird!!!
I'd always wondered about the consistency with treats, or them doing tricks outside of training sessions and you not giving them anything. Makes sense that they associate the treat with not only the trick but the training session too. Your videos are so interesting btw :D hoping to have a pet parrot myself some-time in the distant future
Black Cockatoos are truly the best cockatoos😍😍😍
I Love Banksies. Became aware of them in my local zoo and I loved them so much that I got an annual pass, so that I can visit them every week. They are so personable and affectionate. They recognise me and even follow me and let me pet them.
Gorgeous bird. Smirky and smug owner.
He is such a sweet clever guy and how he preserved everything ❤️ a beautiful being 💋 I hope they can save these beauty’s on our planet
Awww super cute
These birds, I mean any birds are so intelligent and amazing animals I actually own a couple there my baby's I love em. I've been subscribed for a while:)
Dogs are absolute cuties!
Aw! It's my birds avian vet, Dr Phil, sitting to the left at the start of the video! He's the best
Oh my goodness his face at the end of the video He is so cute I just want to hold him and kiss him.❤
Smart bird
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL PARROT. I DIDNT EVEN KNOW THERE WAS A BLACK COCKATOO UNTIL ABOUT 3 YRS AGO! Funny how little even knowledgeable parrot owners, such as myself, really know about the bird species and varieties as a whole.

What a cutie. Never knew they could be black too
My budgie was watching this will I was talking with him in his cage. I started to do his target training then and he saw the cockatoo doing it and he was better then. I've only just started with it yesterday.
Can you please do a video on smaller birds in particular cockatiels?
I'm surprised you guys don't have your own tv show. You'd be as popular as the dog whisperer, but without all the controversy
How Beautiful❗A black Cockatoo ❣ I can imagine how much they r here in the U.S.❗ Although I have never seen one at the bird stores here
And Mel for the save! 😆
YES, I liked the video to make it 667...wheww. lol This guy is so smart! He's picking up things so fast😊❤ and he's such a pretty bird
That bird probably thinks he is teaching her the command to click and give treats by spinning....

What a cutie patootie!
Such a beautiful boy. He was checking out everyone. I don't know bird body language at all; was he nervous about all the people around or just really curious? He did really well despite all the distractions.
GORGEOUS birds!! I watched a video about them a few minutes ago and the narrator said “Because they are so long-lived.....” what is their usual lifespan?
Omgosh! I want one of these so much :-(
Never knew there were black cockatoos!
The black and reds are so important here in WA as there isn't a big population. I just recently moved and found there are some living in a park across the road from me and it's a fabulous cacophony of sound.

I live in QLD and they fly over my house regularly...I love how they honk as they fly!😀
he's such a cutey!
Such a pretty bird and a likeable owner! The bird seems to enjoy learning. 👍 I have one question: when the bird shows a behavior that I have not asked for and I always reward it. Doesn't that make the bird raise its humans? so to speak "look, I can turn, and now give me the reward!" instead of the person asks: "would you please turn?" , the bird turns and is then rewarded. I know thus rule fromm dog-training. Greetings Claudia

No, it makes the bird (or other animal) understand that they can offer you natural behaviours and you will communicate to them (through marking the behaviour with a click, then give a treat) whether you want them to do the behaviour or not. So it is simply a sign showing that they have understood that this is about communication and it is also how Karen Pryor (the «inventor» of clicker training) recommends you use clicker training, it is clicker training in it’s pure form when the animal understand they can offer you behaviors and it is a great way of training tricks... All animals love it when they feel understood and clicker training (whether or not you use an actual clicker, or not) contributes to that... 👏☺️
An update on my poor parrot, he died last night after we had him for 6 weeks and he was 6 months old, we got him to help me through an illness, that I got almost exactly a year ago, what bad luck. We can't afford an complete analysis, but we will try and find out what happened to him, R.I.P Ayo, the best thing that ever happened to me. Edit: I know the beginning may sound pompous, and I am sorry for that.

Henry hockenhull ...I’m so very sorry about the loss of your parrot, Ayo. I know firsthand how difficult it is to deal with the unexpected, and premature loss of a beloved pet. It’s sad to lose an animal anyway,...but when it is a situation where it happens way too soon, and we are completely blindsided by it, it can take on a whole new dimension of heartache, as we torment ourselves with the questions,...why, what happened, and could I have done anything differently? They are members of our family, and it is a heart wrenching experience to have to go through. My thoughts and my deepest sympathies are with you during this very difficult time Henry.😔💔 Take Care of yourself. I’m sending you lots of love and hugs from Phoenix, Arizona.💖💕💖

@@jenniferduvall147 Thanks so much Jennifer, you described all the emotions and questions I have, the vet said that he had some sort of germ in him, most likely before we got him - what a relief- he used to look down on me wherever I was, he would change his place on his cage so he could do so, and bow his head for scratches XD. I feel so sorry for you, you certainly don't seem like the type of person this should happen to, at least we will see our friends again, and I hope that both of us never go through this process again. Thanks so much. Edit: the store even refused to give us a discount on another bird, let alone a refund, and the first person we talked to (at the store) just shouted at us for not getting insurance. (We were going to in the future, maybe after a year or so, as then we new the bird would be healthy).
I want one!
I'm curious what cloth material are you using for cover the centre part of the PVC pipe perch? Is it the grip band cloth?
How come whenever I watch bird training videos, the birds usually stay on the perch while my birds (lorikeets) sometimes just fly away or rush to my shoulder?
