It was 1992, I was 15 and I had gotten myself into a 21+club. I was 6'2" and had facial hair so it wasn't too hard to imagine why they'd let me in. I had received this album as a present from my Mom. She was pretty cool and had some amazing friends in the fashion, hair, makeup world of 1989 Los Angeles. I danced me ass off to this album for at least 2 years. Shortly after I got this album we moved to Spokane Washington and there was nothing there that mattered when it came to pop culture and music. This album saved my life until I met some pervy 19 year old that lived on my block. He had just moved from Germany and he had a bunch of new music for my desperate little ears to drink in. Fuck I miss the 90s

the early 90s era (1989-1992) was basically the highest evolution of 80s electronic pop music. It was bizarre how the sound of Cathy Dennis/Black Box/CeCe Peniston/Crystal Waters suddenly disappeared, and was replaced in 1993 by the much more acoustic & introspective sound that people today generally associate with 90s music. The early 90s are a unique era separate from the rest of that decade.

When this came out, it was rejected by the underground. This was seen as pop commercial music. When it could no longer sell in “pop/ commercial” music numbers, and grunge took over, and the entire singer/songwriter coffee shop thing happened, music like this had nowhere to go, except for the club.

People saying they came here for _Family Guy_ . Bitches, please: I'm here because of my sweet memories of the 1990's, because I had the singular *privilege* of living and enjoying those golden bygone times. People always talk about how amazing the 1980's were, and they are right, the 1980's were amazing, but the 1990's were amazing too and with a magical touch that died with that decade.

Ohhhhh yes it will. It's a very good song, but not a classic. Classics live. You'll thank me. And one more thing, yes, this is a super song to groove to. cheers.

@@flemingcourt I disagree, just because a song isn't a classic doesn't mean it's dead. As long as it's sampled/refrenced in other works it's still kept alive. Of course, I don't know if this song was ever sampled but it was refrenced in family guy!
This was one of the greatest times in America. Music was fun. Peace and logic ruled. The only real deception was hiding the actual talent behind "Black Box," and "Milli Vanilli." :-D

It's interesting that many a commercial on TV now consists of old Disco tunes and even companies like Apple is catching onto it. So who are they targeting as their buyers? Certainly not the teens of today but some do bite of course. Baby boomers and past do have the careers, the money to burn and the memories of better days past. I value my youth (born in '60) and can still listen to all kinds of music from serious hard rock, screaming from the likes of Ozzy and disco too. Only difference with me and a teen is that i'll look into the history of the older tunes to see what the real intent was-the meaning behind them and so on. I appreciate the creativity and their own personalities that went into their creations........
This song should never end😊
