Loved the film . Horse Black Beauty was past on to so many people and lucky to survive. All it wanted was to be at a good home cared for and loved . A happy ending 😊
It is difficult to comprehend that this fine film was made 5 decades ago. Beautifully crafted movie staying close to the book by Anna Sewell. Ireland and Spain were the location counties for filming. Mark Lester (Mark A. Letzer) who plays young Joe Evans is now 62 ! Apart from the advertisements it’s a classic and wholesome entertainment from a time never to return.

Patrick Mower is 85yrs old, still acting and looks amazing for his age today. He used to live in Dukeswood Gerrards Cross Buckinghamshire, tiny town next to my village. We knocked on his door as kids early 1980's because he was dating Suzanne Daniel. Just wanted a glimpse of her being 12/13yr old lads then but they weren't in according to his Butler who answered the door. She had done Hammer House of Horror and Tales of the Unexpected and was very sexy back then and then she went and married that ugly golfer Sam Torrance....i wonder why?. ££££££££££££££££.
This is one of my favourite movies. The music triggers amazing memories. I feel so lucky. Please keep it on KZread 😊
Very beautiful, very sad - and so TRUE!

my english literature class used the Black Beauty graphic novel as a learning material, how time flies
thanks so much for putting this up xx brought back loads of memories lol!!! The recent adaptations can't come close to this.....what Disney have done in the latest version is abysmal!! The tv series of the 70's i grew up watching is available on youtube if other Black Beauty fans want to watch...with that magnificent iconic theme tune lol....still gives me goosebumps listening to that today xx

A classic version of BLACK BEAUTY. Mark Lester is brilliant in in this film. A great family film with great acting all round. No swearing no violence just a great film for all ages to watch. And a brilliant print quality.

No violence? Beatings on animals, killing a horse, a woman kidnapped, war and canons, swords in the stomach and dead soldiers...What is violence to you? I wanted to show this to my son but I won't, he's 6 and this is way too violent in my opinion, old classic or not.
@ScratchyBaws

Plenty of violence throughout the movie and as for swearing the word BASTARD used twice is considered either.

Such a depressing movie.Its criminal how this beautiful horse was treated...Sickening movie.
@nikitamenezesgama2648

The movie is a depiction of sickening times, and the reality of that time. It's based on a novel by Anna Sewell, who loved horses very much, and wrote the book Black Beauty, more to create awareness and build empathy and consideration in the masses towards horses. She hoped to change the way horses were treated during her days, and hoped to shed light on the same. Makes me terribly sad too.
Parece ser um filme bom tem cavalos tem crianças não tem maldade. Tem esse cabeludo que parece ser muito ruim
This is not the real story Anna Sewel had written. The story is different. I ever saw a movie of Black Beauty which was closer to the original story. A good movie. I know the book very good and I like the original movie. Otherwise, this movie is also nice.

1971 , I remember it well , I had read the book to try and get my parents to get me some horse riding lessons , it was expensive and we were in the city , so not easy and rather expensive . It worked . I felt so grown up . I was 9 . Definitely 1971 , (kissed my first girlfriend ) , and we also had decimalisation that year . 1971 for certain . STAY WELL . AH MEMORIES ............

@nikitamenezesgama2648
Жыл бұрын
@@copperbunnies9849 I don't think he actually recognised it really. They did show a flicker of nostalgia in his eyes, to show that he did find a great likeness. It would've been many years, and the horse wouldn't look just the same, I don't know anything about horses, but it probably looked different with all the hardwork and mistreatment. Joe had also probably lost hope of ever seeing his old mate again. It did however, warm his heart to find a horse with such a close resemblance, so he named him Black Beauty for old times sake. At least that's how I interpreted it. But if he really recognized it, then it warms my heart the joyful reunion. I'd like to believe your version.
YUP, still a much better 1971 movie than "clockwork orange"..... yuck!
