    You’re not wrong people suddenly become body language experts and can read emotions and minds out of thin air. They over analyze every minuscule detail of a person to come to some outlandish conclusions, kind of baffling but also funny because I would just think it’s just two people hanging out or something like that. Like everything there’s the good and the bad, I’m glad you experience the good. I would love more of these videos. 🥰

    I actually can read body language quiet well but those analysis videos are always so out of the loop and full of projecting and also ignore cultural differences 😅 I guess some are meant in a joking way but then there are some where 2 people just sit next to each other, playing on their phones but apparently they are deeply in love and super flirty in that moment 🤷‍♂

    Your fanfic answer was pretty much what I'd think, if I'd be in the situation. That being said, mentioning that even the writers wouldn't want that (which I usually agree with, fandom spaces are for fans) made me think of "Little Achievements" where two Star Trek actors acted out a whole story their characters were written in and the fanfic author introduced them. Absolutely depends on the actors and writers, and probably the content itself lol.

    It's an interesting question and I absolutely respect Perths pov on it. I can understand how people writing fanfic about you could be something you don't want to consume. If I was an actor and there were fanfics written about m I don't think I'd want to read them either. I do enjoy watching actors respond positively to some fanfics though. It's the actors who get angry about it and attack the writers that really make me sad for fanfic writers.

    @@AlexBsSecret well, it's not about fanfic not being made into things at all, if that were an issue, then half of contemporary media wouldn't exist - it's about actors whose roles are written about in fanfic not reading those. Sometimes they do, and very rarely that is a good thing. Most of the time, people at events will make actors read bits of fanfic to make fun of fanfic writers and that leaves everyone feeling super bad, including the people who are asked to make fun of their own fans. Generally, fanfic is from and for fans and never for the actors whose roles are written about and most certainly not when RPF is involved.

    But that doesn't make sense as most fans who are girls generally believe that besides fan service, what's the point of acting for fans outside of the series? In real life ? using its name and everything is completely different and problematic.

  • @clbert7460

    @clbert7460

    Жыл бұрын

    @@CarlosEduardo-iw9jr I would guess that depends on one’s own interpretation. I would use the term “fan service” to inform people that these are activities to promote the series or other products. No production company wants the fans to stop shipping their actors. I’m curious, why would it make a difference if the fan is male, female or gender neutral? When I see BL actors doing fan service, it gives me an opportunity to see them continue in their “roles” unscripted. But I recognize it for what it is, part of their job. I think it is much more difficult for an actor especially when some of them are new to the field. And sometimes you can tell that they really are not comfortable with the situation or their partner, but hopefully continuing to do fan service will help them with that in the future. You can also see when people have a genuine affection or partnership with each other. I don’t think that you have to be gay to like another person of the same gender or feel comfortable enough to hug them or even kiss them. That often comes with familiarity and a person’s own comfort level societal pressures aside.

    I personally hate fs because it it lying after all. If people have a genuine connection, then they should just be themselves and not force anything. I totally understand why they do it, but I hate questioning the actual feelings of the people. And I am not just talking about BL, but in general: other series, k-pop, etc. I know some pairs (for lack of a better term in this situation) really like each other and do things because they want to (at the same time thinking that fans will like it) but I really hate when people pretend and force connection playing with fans. At the end of the day it stops being fun and turns into lying and sometimes even ship wars.

    @@IrinNovy I understand your feeling because you think of fan service in a different way than I do. I think FS is part of their job as actors, they do it because the company insists on it, their sponsors want it and the fans like it. I’ve tried to not think about it but would end up thinking about it even more(I tend to do this since I have anxiety). And actually during the time I was watching your video my mind didn’t wonder even once so thank you, even if I’m back to stressing about it now at least I was relaxed for 22 minutes😅 You always have my full focus when watching you! But yea so thanks for todays video and I hope you’re content continues to do well! Also you’re the only man I’d ever willingly pay a subscription for🫶🏼 💜💜💜💜

    Thank you so much for this video, Perth! ❤ It was really interesting to hear you answering these questions, giving us some insights into the industry and sharing your experiences! I just wanted to let you know that we (speaking on behalf of the fans, I guess 😂) appreciate you not only as a BL actor but as an actor in general as well as a great person. You are cherished not only due to our interest in BL stuff but for other things that you do! Also I wanted to mention that you inspire me to learn languages! I’m not a native English speaker and watching your videos helps me practice my listening skills a lot, because you speak so clearly and it’s easy for me to understand Thank you again ❤

    This was such a great video, I loved hearing your perspective and gaining a bit of knowledge about how things come together with the shows I absolutely love. I love that you touched on some of the more basic aspects of the BL industry. The costuming for example and the heat. I just finished watching Chains of Heart and one of the main characters Lue, always wore suit jackets and blazers or leather coats and leather gloves. I mean his wardrobe was practically it's own character, I don't know how on Earth he could stand it and what was crazy was he never seemed to be sweaty. Sometimes I watch a series and you can see the actor sweating, not on their clothing but on their face and around the hairline. The team responsible for keeping that from showing deserve some sort of award! In any case, I have enjoyed your work and appreciate the time you take to make these videos, your Thai lessons videos are fantastic and I look forward to seeing you in more roles in the future!!

    That was a great Q&A, I have enjoyed you in the four series you mentioned, and even more on KZread. You cover many topics that I am interested in. I also love the way you seem to be able to adjust to both sides of your heritage without giving up either. I salute your parents it is a hard thing to balance two cultures. (Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt) Acting is a hard career on the wallet, it takes a lot of guts to not only chase the primary dream, but to work hard as an entrepreneur takes guts and perseverance. It was strangely comforting to hear that your brother runs lines with you, that means you have family support, which is heartwarming. So keep up the hard work, looking forward to seeing your future projects, blessings on you and yours.

I have also see other comments mentioning abt ppl behind the scenes , like the cameraperson or boom operator and honestly, that would be such an interesting perspective to have. Perhaps you could make this a series with having a dif. person every time to answer all us Fujoshi/fudanshis ' queries. P.S. Love watching your videos a lot and your smile and laugh is so cute and infectious. I really love your sunny and fun personality too :)

    I appreciate this video so much for some reason. Like.. It just really answered all the questions I had and it’s interesting to see how a BL actor’s mindset is like and how they work. The Thai entertainment industry is still very much small and not as English inclusive, if that makes sense? It’s just hard to find content with English subtitles, so Perth is a godsend.

    You are so straight forward and articulate with your answers. It's a pleasure listening to you. On the fan service question I would have expanded it and asked if there are actors who are pushed by studios or management companies to do fan service when they may not really want to. Also my biggest question that I have asked in so many forums, but no one will answer, is do any of the actors in a series get any money from merchandising or sales of boxsets. Yes, I would really like it if you could do another Q&A video and as far as a guest it would be wonderful if you could get Talay to be there. I liked you guys together so much in My Engineer. If Talay comes on you should wear your neck tattoo again! HAHAHA XXOO 💖🧡💛💚💙💜

    It was interesting to hear many stories I wanted to know! I hope you will do it again✨✨ The Thai bl actor industry is a bit like the Japanese voice actor industry. I have been thinking that the Thai voice acting industry is similar to the Japanese voice acting industry because Japanese voice actors also expand their activities by holding events and radio shows in combination with their hit series.
