BJJ Student Gets in School Fight & Gets No Punishment
Спорт
Last week I shared the actual voicemail from JJ’s school principal about the fight he got into, today you get to hear it from the champ himself! What a spectacular young man. Leave your feedback for JJ in the comments and I’ll make sure the family sees it!
Congratulation to his parents and to Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Houston for the incredible work in shaping this young man so beautifully.
JJ and his SIX siblings have confirmed that they’re coming to the Bullyproof Summer Camp in Torrance, CA on August 1-5. The camp is open to ages 6-13 and no experience is necessary. To save your spot in Torrance or at one of many Certified Summer Camp locations, register at www.BullyproofSummerCamp.com - space is very limited but if you have to cancel for any reason it’s 100% refundable.

“No untrained person in BJJ could get out my side control”! Man! I love it! Strong work kid! Disciplined ! I love it! Thank you JJ! You’re an inspiration and a great example to BJJ admirers and practitioners everywhere!

That kids comment really made me smile. The confidence allowed him to do what he had to without needing to prove any kind of point other than the point he had already made.

The smile on Rener’s face when he heard “I double legged him and got him in side control” was priceless

Lmao I watched this similar to what I did a kid got aggressive with me I tried to avoid it dodged a punch and then double legged him, I then kinda just left me on the ground
That's a champion move, JJ! Dude, just want to let you know that I'm a 28-year-old guy and I feel inspired by what you did to keep showing up to my own jiujitsu classes. Thank you for being a role model for not only your classmates and kids, but adults too!
"No untrained person could get out of my side control!" That gave me some good energy!
I knew Rener was gonna offer him to assistant teach the second he brought that up.
Respects to the child's Parents! The child is very respectful!
What a well-spoken young man.

This kid rocks!! Could have hurt the other kid but didnt. A great bjj story 🤙
Absolutely amazing story. I don’t know this young man but I’m so proud of him. This is exactly why every child should learn Jiu Jitsu.
Well done JJ!
This little boy is more articulate than most teenagers these days

JJ's a badass! Glad the school understood that JJ was just defending himself. Bright future for this mature young man!
man i wish i knew gracie bjj in school, i was 110 lbs skinny guy who got picked on by bigger kids! Now I train at the gracie academy in Weatherford, TX and love it!
I’ve know people who have gotten in trouble for doing stuff like this cause the other person could “have suffered a concussion due to hitting their head” No joke, I saw kids get in trouble for defending themselves cause the aggressor could’ve gotten a concussion. props to the principle, parents and the school admin for teaching both parties about self defence, restraint, and “don’t start something you can’t finish” We need more stories like this.
And again, this is why we love Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, especially the Bullyprrof Program!!! When kids have CONFIDENCE that they can CONTROL the situation, they do NOT have to default to FEAR which is an emotion, and when you respond EMOTIONALLY, you've LOST CONTROL. Great job, JJ. Wait, does JJ stand for JIU-JITSU?!?!?!?
Proud of this kid. This made me smile
This is one of the reasons I respect the Gracies...that young brother was very composed and diciplined.
Beautiful story. Nobody likes a bully. I am very proud of this youngster.
Dad's well proud I started bjj/gjj at Gracie academy Watford with Ben I done it for about 5 months 3 times a week but work stopped that in mid 2019. I've started again at Gracie Barra Haringey with professor Santana I'm just 4 stripe white belt I go 4/5 times a week and do double/triple sessions sometimes. I really love learning the Gracie gift to the world. We spar at Gracie Barra but I've use the fundamentals I learnt with Ben at Gracie academy so I have to thank you for the great work you are doing. I will always work from guard (self defense style) and this is Gracie academy that taught me this. Some of my training partners and professors have won competitions so I'm in good hands. I'll go visit Ben once I get my blue belt to thank him personally. Love life love Brazilian jiu jitsu forever. I'm 45 by the way not that means anything but shows age is just a number anyone can start at any age and achieve great things. Peace from London England Emlyn
This great as always guys...well done.

Brought tears to my eyes. Man, its the greatest gift to give your kids that kind of confidence.
You the man JJ! Testimony that this stuff works. Bullyproof is a necessary investment for all our kids!
Well done JJ! Stick with it young man. Real proud of you.
EVERYTHING about this is absolutely beautiful. Gives me tears of joy. God bless all three of you. Cool story in this world of so much angst. Mahalo. Aloha.
Wow JJ is going to have such a great time! I’m so pleased for this little dude. I hope he keeps going and one day and opens his own school “ JJ’s JJ “. Rener what a great gesture keeping it real dude you’re actually doing it! It’s working, Awesome🤙
Great job for the kid and the school!
I teared up - proud of you JJ - neutralize the threat - GOOD JOB. ❤️
JJ you rock! Your side control sounds awesome!
Man this is awesome! Congrats JJ
This kid is awesome congrats.
Classic! Good for him! Tired of seeing the bullying! Hopefully these kids with bad behavior will start thinking twice. I blame the parents!! These children are learning these bad behaviors.
I think I love Renner's reaction just as mush hearing theses stories!
Great job JJ!
That’s awesome buddy, great show of discipline and self control
When Rener heard Double leg he was like a sith lord "Gooood"
Such a great kid and clever thinking on his feet.
Thank you sir for adopting!
Look at the smile on that kid’s face
What a great kid! Good job buddy! Love it!
Great job jj!!!!!
No better tell of a failed parent than when a child becomes a bully 🤷♂️ Glad JJ handled that situation with that little asshole so well! Awesome to see that.
Love this kid and his dad. Glad the school didn’t punish him. 👏👍🏻
What a mature young man
great content!
Wow, a school that doesn’t punish a person for defending themselves against a bully? This has to be fake. That doesn’t exist😂 In all honesty, this is great and just made my day, and it’s only 9:30 in the morning
Well done JJ FANTASTIC
That’s the awesome thing ever!!!!!
Awesome!
Love it... ! Well done kid!
Great use of the gentle art.
Mad props, JJ!
Good work JJ!
Amazing!!
I want more of these stories
I Love this kid!
I can totally see this kid pursuing a career in politics.
bravo to that young man
I love seeing this!!
Love it!!!
My religion says self defense is not violence. Good work little man.❤
Glad that Rener highlighted the positive response from the school also. It’s so easy to not recognise self defence, which would have disempowered JJ.
Great job JJ..
What a Dad though 6 kids
JJ is the man 🔥🔥
Awesome
Osss.. love a happy ending
Awesome what a cool kid 💪🏼
My son came Home from school four years ago, told me that three Kids began to Bully him. He did a handlock to the Leader of the group, let him kneel down as He'd learned at Judo and they Just gave up. He was the smallest boy at class and they thougt he would be a nice victim for them but they miscalculated. I'd Always told him Not to Attack first but to defence himself. He was never punished and seldom was bullied.
Wow well done kid! 👍🏻
I love it!!!
awesome!
Awesome. Great for the the sport and for self defense! 🥊

I've 3 young daughters. And we have a saying. "Girls don't start fights, they finish them" We tell them school policy is if you put hands on someone else you get detention and parents are called. If they get in a situation where they have to defend themselves they have to take the detention. brcause er agreed to follow school rules. But we tell the teacher that the only consequence is the biggest bowl of ice cream you have ever seen with more sprinkles than they could eat. We tell our kids this so they know and the teachers know that we are accept the school rules but we are rewarding our child's bravery to defend them selves. So far we've only had ice cream once. (3 girls hassling and pulling hair. One karate ageuke high block and an arm lock later one girl is crying and 2 are running away)

are you proud of this? "girls dont start fights, they finish them" in what world does this hold any merit? are you positive you're not raising any bullies? how can you know for sure that your three daughters are innocent and not causing any of these problems themselves? The real world doesn't give out bowls of ice cream for defending yourself, why would you instill this reward system in their heads for something that should be taken seriously? it's gonna bite you in the ass.
Future MMA champ right there
My favourite part is when you mention the policy of punishing both part in the fight make worse the situation. Bullies doesn´t respect rules, victims and witness does
Give your child the gift of Jiu Jitsu
Gracie BJJ ROCKS!!!
Hey JJ! I'm almost 50, buddy, and i can't express to you how much i wish I had started BJJ when I was your age. Stick with it, and maybe you'll kick my butt in a roll someday. Good job with that bully! Oss!
WHOA!!!
He never threw a punch. Nothing to get in trouble about
Where’s the video?
4:00, oh no JayStation spirit is around
A kid not getting in trouble for self defence impossible
He should've given the bully a small taste of the americana...
The camp should be longer than 3 hrs a day. That s long trip for a short lass with all due respect
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
The next week that same person asked JJ to sign him up in his bjj gym
I practice Silat, Escrima, Taiji, Bagua and Xingyi. I focus on ending flurries of punches with joint locks. I know how to take people down. We crouch we never go prone. One of my friends who practices Escrima suggested I learn BJJ just for fun. Congratulations JJ on diffusing a violent situation without injury!
If everyone knew jim jitsu. No one would need to use it.
