BJJ Student Gets in School Fight & Gets No Punishment

Спорт

Last week I shared the actual voicemail from JJ’s school principal about the fight he got into, today you get to hear it from the champ himself! What a spectacular young man. Leave your feedback for JJ in the comments and I’ll make sure the family sees it!
Congratulation to his parents and to Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Houston for the incredible work in shaping this young man so beautifully.
JJ and his SIX siblings have confirmed that they’re coming to the Bullyproof Summer Camp in Torrance, CA on August 1-5. The camp is open to ages 6-13 and no experience is necessary. To save your spot in Torrance or at one of many Certified Summer Camp locations, register at www.BullyproofSummerCamp.com - space is very limited but if you have to cancel for any reason it’s 100% refundable.

I’ve know people who have gotten in trouble for doing stuff like this cause the other person could “have suffered a concussion due to hitting their head” No joke, I saw kids get in trouble for defending themselves cause the aggressor could’ve gotten a concussion. props to the principle, parents and the school admin for teaching both parties about self defence, restraint, and “don’t start something you can’t finish” We need more stories like this.

And again, this is why we love Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, especially the Bullyprrof Program!!! When kids have CONFIDENCE that they can CONTROL the situation, they do NOT have to default to FEAR which is an emotion, and when you respond EMOTIONALLY, you've LOST CONTROL. Great job, JJ. Wait, does JJ stand for JIU-JITSU?!?!?!?

Dad's well proud I started bjj/gjj at Gracie academy Watford with Ben I done it for about 5 months 3 times a week but work stopped that in mid 2019. I've started again at Gracie Barra Haringey with professor Santana I'm just 4 stripe white belt I go 4/5 times a week and do double/triple sessions sometimes. I really love learning the Gracie gift to the world. We spar at Gracie Barra but I've use the fundamentals I learnt with Ben at Gracie academy so I have to thank you for the great work you are doing. I will always work from guard (self defense style) and this is Gracie academy that taught me this. Some of my training partners and professors have won competitions so I'm in good hands. I'll go visit Ben once I get my blue belt to thank him personally. Love life love Brazilian jiu jitsu forever. I'm 45 by the way not that means anything but shows age is just a number anyone can start at any age and achieve great things. Peace from London England Emlyn

He did a handlock to the Leader of the group, let him kneel down as He'd learned at Judo and they Just gave up. He was the smallest boy at class and they thougt he would be a nice victim for them but they miscalculated. I'd Always told him Not to Attack first but to defence himself. He was never punished and seldom was bullied.

I've 3 young daughters. And we have a saying. "Girls don't start fights, they finish them" We tell them school policy is if you put hands on someone else you get detention and parents are called. If they get in a situation where they have to defend themselves they have to take the detention. brcause er agreed to follow school rules. But we tell the teacher that the only consequence is the biggest bowl of ice cream you have ever seen with more sprinkles than they could eat. We tell our kids this so they know and the teachers know that we are accept the school rules but we are rewarding our child's bravery to defend them selves. So far we've only had ice cream once. (3 girls hassling and pulling hair. One karate ageuke high block and an arm lock later one girl is crying and 2 are running away)

are you proud of this? "girls dont start fights, they finish them" in what world does this hold any merit? are you positive you're not raising any bullies? how can you know for sure that your three daughters are innocent and not causing any of these problems themselves? The real world doesn't give out bowls of ice cream for defending yourself, why would you instill this reward system in their heads for something that should be taken seriously? it's gonna bite you in the ass.
