Wow, unbelievable breakdown. Font did way more than I expected to neutralize Cody's game, it wasn't just an 'off-night' for Cody like many analysts think. This was a shutout from Font from start to finish.

As you alluded to, what I believe was Cruz's downfall in his fight with Garbrandt is that he let his ego and Garbrandt's taunting get to him and break his composure. It's crazy how as more time passes Garbrandt's performance is seen less and less as a high IQ masterclass dismantling and more as him just being a favourable stylistic matchup.

@Philosopher KS Technically he did point out in his Dominick Cruz vs Cody Garbrandt breakdown that Cruz was able to win the last round by taking the measured approach that Font did but by then it was too late.

@Philosopher KS Of all the tactics that Dominick Cruz implemented his utilisation of the jab was among the more successful. Yes, Cody Garbrandt was able to initially dissuade Cruz from furthering this strategy but that had more to do with how demoralised Cruz was than the inefficiency of the strategy itself.

Absolutely. When the guys can't hit the head, I think "Why don't they blast the body?". Especially when they pull back steady, just rip into the liver side. But I'm not a fighter, so I don't know

not really. rob has the style to beat cody bcz you cant move your head to a jab as cody does to powerpunches. cody can still beat anyone but he will always have problems against jabbers like font or cory

Your analysis is gold, Scout. Nothing the UFC puts out even comes close. Whoever you are, I hope you're putting your talent to work making a living within some realm of combat sports. I want the Cruz-Garbrandt rematch. Cody learned to not go apeshit in a firefight, maybe he'll learn to stop headhunting before he retires. I'd love to see you do some analysis of martial arts that have little to no presence in MMA.

I was really rooting for Cody on this one, and it was a good fight but I was thinking it would be way more of a violent slug fest with a K.O. ending . . . and it is hard to say where Cody goes from here. Great video analysis mate !

The video didn't even started yet but i will say it already, he should've kicked more, he did hurt him witj like 2 low kicks, font was limping to get out of the octagon, cody lacked the inteligence to change it up when he couldn't reach the guy with his hands

Yeah, should've listened to his coaches. Once Cody spent all energy on wrestling, he did the same shit for 3 rounds straight without any good results, so its not like he had better ideas in mind.

TJ was better than Cruz, but let pre-fight antics get to his head and moved forward headhunting in the octagon. Only rds 4,5 did TJ adjust to not chase Cruz and took over. And then Cruz was better than Cody, but let a dance move from Cody trigger him to move forward and headhunt. Only late after getting knocked down did he adjust and won rd5. Bantamweight title has been fumbled time and time again and Cody is overrated

cody must've learnt his footwork from kattar or smth, dude kept backing up in a line and into the right hand.

Cody looked more muscular to me and seemed to gas very early. No excuses just what I saw

He wrestled a lot at first, different than how he usually fights. You fight how you train, he doesn't train as much wrestling as striking so the cardio wasn't as good. He was doing ok before he tired tho
