Considering that Disney forbids cast members from pointing normally, it’s literally one of the rules and why the do a five fingered gesture when referring to something, she was absolutely trying to get that guys attention. He was wearing a badge and was most likely her handler. Each mascot has a handler to help them with lines (rowdy guests) and getting around as it’s pretty hard to see out of the head pieces. A lot of them do have to be strong enough to pick up a cast member, especially during hotter days in the case they overheat. It’s why meet and greets have small but frequent time brackets, to give them a chance to cool down. So, no, not a random guest grabbing a cast member. He would have been stopped by the handler if that was the case.
@mrimmri
7 ай бұрын
@@greglbennett I'd said especially during hotter days, not that this was specifically what was happening. The cold weather doesn't matter as well. You can overheat with too many layers even in the cold. Considering both US Disney location being the way they are in the winter, overheating even in the cold could also be a possibility. Florida doesn't really start to get actually cold rather than cool until January or Mid January. The California, Anaheim, location tends be similar in my experiences of going and living near both. The number one cause of mascot cast member injuries are a result of heatstroke no matter what time of the year it is. That doesn't mean this cast member was going through it, particularly with the limp, but it is absolutely a possibilty that could have enabled as well.

I live in Florida legit five minutes away from Universal Studios. I go to the theme parks all the time, and I have a friend who is a character cast member at Disney. You would not believe just how hot these costumes get. From what he tells me they don’t have a fan inside them. On really hot days they have to wear them no matter how hot the day. They have to walk throughout different parts of the park. Instead of just keeping them in one spot where it’s mostly shaded. Often times if they do any meat and greets they’re very short-lived to give the cast member time to go off the scene and take their mask off to cool down. It amazes me just how great these characters can do even in the hottest of days at the theme park. It also amazes me just how responsive and great the handlers are in situations like this.

I've passed out before for other reasons so I can honestly say it's one of the scariest feelings in the world. No not heatstroke. Looks like hamstring.
@mrimmri

What happened: Disney posted an article on the topic since it blew up. The cast member badly twisted her ankle and did not have a choice but to get her handler’s attention for help. She is okay and has been back up and running as a cast member for months now. She was not stolen and most handlers and park security within the Disney Parks in the US wear casual clothes to keep them from being noticed over the other workers.
Most likely he understands if the mascot breaks character they are fired, regardless. He wanted to bring that mascot to privacy so they could get the help they need without losing their job.
They were having a heat stroke
Bruh he worked there and was helping. "If you're strong enough, you can do whatever you please", is a dumb message to send to people. Especially your younger audience.
“Proving if your strong enough, you can do whatever you please!!” I hope no woman will experience you as a boyfriend
She was holding the top of the mask to make sure it didn't fall off in front of the guests. She WANTED that cast member to get her backstage. If she didn't, she would be trying to fight him off.
Dude he clearly had a tag on and the person in the costum was clearly struggling trying to stay in character so they picked up whoever was in there and took em in the back
The cast member was over heated in the outfit, he was helping her because he is her/his helper. My sister Betty worked at Disneyland and she had to often help like that.
I also heard that if a character puts their hand over their eye they are sick. She was signaling she wasn’t feeling well.
ytubers like this are annoying ngl
That was a cast member who picked her up. The tag is perfectly visible.
Forget the dumb commentary. Kudos to this "friend of Jessie" for staying in character, pointing to her handler until he came and after he picked her up - which is also amazing - grabbing her hat to keep her costume intact. They are both awesome and make magic.
This dude literally has a name tag on his jacket, he works there. Each character has someone watching them
I think Jesse was dehydrated -- thus stumbling. That was a cast mate helping her. He probably took her backstage, and gave her water to hydrate. Those costumes are HOT!!! Good job to the guy who helped Jesse.
That poor woman in that costume nearly died from heat exhaustion
Honestly, props to that cast member for attempting to stay in character while passing out from heatstroke. Kept trying to do little Jessie poses with their hand on their hip while hanging on to that railing for dear life.
the man who carried the mascot is not a random bystander, is the Disney employee going to help the mascot.
He should have said "Andys coming" all the toy story characters have to play dead when they hear it. So he could have just picked her up anyways
Bro delete this. That's a handler helping a cast member suffering from injury or exhaustion not "A rANdoM bYstANdeR sO StRonG thEY cAN DO wHaT eVEr TheY wANt."
That was another Disney employee saving the girl. It’s extremely HOT inside those costumes and the person inside was suffering from heat exhaustion.
The badge proves that if you work at Disney you won’t get in trouble for this😂
