Also worth noting on the keytrack EQ tip that you can assign the keytrack modulator to the global shift using the same spread value, allowing you to shift all bands at once. To work around the monophonic nature of this EQ technique, stick the entire device in an FX Selector, duplicate it a number of times and set the selector to Round Robin. It's more taxing on CPU, but super useful for some specific tasks.

You can bounce either a clip or a segment of time to another track by highlighting what you want and dragging where you want to go while holding Alt. Like bounce-in-place, this will only bounce the first instrument and whatever is contained in the FX containers, but if you use that workflow it makes things a little bit quicker. More generally, scream that part about bounce being better than freeze / flatten from the rooftops. It becomes even more powerful when you do stuff like putting printed audio in group master tracks or even the master track to immediately cut off long reverb tails and such. Super flexible design.

Great tips! I'm loving Bitwig for how it makes so many things so much easier than in Ableton. I've used Ableton for 20 years, love it, and will continue using it for some things. But Bitwig is a huge breath of fresh air, fresh ideas, and so many helpful creative tools.

Also you can pack a few tracks into group and then aplly bounce in place to time selection range (entire lengh of the group clips). Then you can deactivate nested tracks and this is looks more like freeze alternative. When you'll copy, cut or remove group metaclip, all of nested clips will follow editing (even if deactivated tracks is hidden). So you can "unfreeze" it back with changes you did for blablabla. Hope you understood me.

This is definitely the best use of "Bounce In Place", on a group. You get roughly the same effect as freeze, for cases where you want that. I never use it on the track itself.

I always learn something from your videos man!! I had no idea you could enter an equation to get the right reverb times. Super useful as I don't need to use a separate delay calculator to get in the ballpark!! I use the exact same bounce workflow it's honestly the best (definitely better than Freeze in Ableton!) It would be really nice if the bounce dialogue contained check boxes to include a variation of the original track name and send information in case you are sending out to fx. I find myself renaming the bounced tracks constantly. It's pretty easy as you can do it while its being bounced down but it's another step. Additionally a way to revert a bounce in place back to MIDI would be amazing but with the bounce to new track workflow it's really not needed. Thanks again!

I'm not understanding the C3 frequency coming in at 262Hz on Bitwig as when I tune a voltage on my ER-101 (Eurorack Sequencer) for C3 and I see my scope showing the frequency is 130Hz. If I take my sequencer to A4 the scope reads 440Hz which is the agreed on international value, so that works. At 262Hz on my system, I get a C4 note. Any idea why Bitwig is calling a C3 262Hz?

[Bitwig beginner] Hi PM, Thanks for this. Probably, I have lost the plot so excuse my ignorance. In Part 3, "Key-Tracking on Filter"; why would one do this? Presumably you are using Polysynth to produce "note-based" frequencies but then you throw in a filter which you then add key-tracking to produce note-based frquencies? I don't get it?
