All branches in BITS will provide opportunities. It is upto the student to make use of it. See the previous video on BITS. Plain MSc Eco is OK. But if you want only Eco - there are better options in India - Delhi University, Ashoka etc. Mechanical in BITS is better if you can make use of the flexibility the system offers to improve your coding skills, take minors, go for an internship in an IT company etc.

Tough Choice. Pilani offers a better Institution experience. Student is OK with staying far away from family - Pilani is a better option.

sir is slide and freeze option present in iterations or councelling and sir at most how many preferences can be kept

for IITs you should quit at the end of 4th round, for NITs you can quit at the end of 5th to get your money-5000(processing fees). As explained in the video - MSc Eco is OK

If you are interested in getting into IT industry ultimately M&C is better. Maths will be difficult, ECE is also difficult and involves lot of maths.

Sir, should we not go to msc at bits by taking a loan , can't the student repay the loan after he is placed? Is there any risk involved in that?

No risk. Family should not strain their finances. For example if a good NIT option is available - you can take it. Of course if no option is there you can go for the loan.

Sir, in BITS out of ECE, EEE and EIE what is the ideal order of preference ?

Gud evng sir, we r from Hyderabad. My son got 228 marks in BITSAT. As per last year cutoff for his score is there any probability of getting any of the circuit branches? He can get from Mechanical onwards. Is it worth pursuing Mechanical at BITS considering placements n other aspects or should we opt out of BITS. How is the scope for BE Mechanical students at BITS. Can they sit with other cSE n Circuit branch students for placements

This is answered in other comments too. Pls check. BITS provides a platform with a lot of flexibility- how you use it depends on you. We know of several students from Mech who got decent IT placements. Is it worth pursuing? Definitely yes. Should you take it - depends on what other options you have.

BITS Mech for the Institute experience. Use the flexibility in the BITS system to practice coding, take minors, do an internship in IT.

Both are good institutes - but serve specific purposes - IISc if you are interested in research. IIST if you are interested in Space Technology
