Bitdefender has a very good protection and the slowdown problems have become less and less over time as the average hardware gets better. Keep in mind that your machine won’t be this slow as shown in this test as it’s a VM that uses minimal hardware components

Hi J I have a subscription to Cylance Protection Corp. Would it be possible to do a test with Cylance, as I've already looked for a test like yours and never found it. It could be with any other AV in the NGAV segment. Thanks.

What do you think, why the internet got disconnected in BD. I have also seen the internet getting disconnected on your previous BD vs Kas va Norton. I don't think it is really the VPN issue, the BD team needs to look for this.

There was a nother vendor i tested, the malware disabled the ethernet adapter but renabled after restart, i think this is what happend to BD but didn't check the adapter.

Another great video !! so priceless in this “age of malware we live in!! I own both of those products(alongside AVG and Sophos) so here are my quick comments : 1)Never understood what my conclusions should be when I see reports such as BitDefender’s (19:30) : “Resolved: 4 / Password Protected : 265” !!!😲 What on earth my conclusions should be when I noticed that 265 files/programs weren’t checked due to password protection ? do I have a clean system or perhaps a system which is full with password-protected malware files ? this always annoyed me with Bitdefender reports and haven’t seen such confusing reports with any other antivirus(among the 4 I have at least) . So ,again ..what kind of conclusions can someone reach when sees a report like that ? 2)About Malwarebytes: I currently use Malwarebytes in my work-PC (*in the same PC previously I was using BitDefender) and in my work PC still Malwarebytes interface hasn’t changed to this new interface ,so a question : did you use the default settings right? the feature “block penetration testing attack” is it still disabled by default or has anything changed with this updated Malwarebytes interface ?

No antivirus can scan a password protected archive without its password

@@Adam__1 OK , but what am i supposed to do with that info ? they report 265 password protected files .... OK .... so ,can i actually do something with such an info ? never understood the value of reporting something for which you can't take any action...

@@Sitharii It's always good to have such informations, a scan should scan every single things in the computer, if it didn't scan something, you should be informed, let's suppose that you did a full scan and you think that your computer is totally safe, if you extract that archive and it contains a malware, you'll think that the antivirus did its job badly whereas it just wasn't able to scan it. I personally use ESET, and it does the same thing as Bitdefender, it even tells the name of the file.

@@Adam__1 The way Esset handles that(*based on what you say since I never used ESET ) makes a lot more sense . Having the info which files are password-protected gives you room for further investigation . But the way Bitdefender handles it(*only the number and nothing more) makes no sense since you can’t use those info further… Anyway , thanks for the thoughts !!🙂

There will be password protected files on a machine, so it's not uncommon. You can investigate the location of the zips, then you can decide if this is suspicious or not. My ESET as do them all i think report on alot of protected zips it can't scan. As mentioned by Adam_1, no AV can scan the zips without the password, thats why many malware come in protected zips to evade detection. When the zip extracts, this is when the AV "should" detect if there is a threat. My malwarebytes did not auto update to the new interface, i think it might be a staged rollout, so i manually upgraded it. The pentesting is disabled with the new one as well, of for me atleast.
