Songs these days rarely make you stop and think, so thank you very much for composing this awesome piece! Peklat cream is a double entendre. It is about abuse and entrapment in a relationship. The cream symbolises the deep wanting to fix what is broken, albeit on a superficial level. It hides scars from plain sight, but does nothing to address deeper issues. In a way, wearing make-up is blaming yourself for your own behaviour. Nilinis mo naman hindi kuminis Pinahid mo na nga panget pa rin One feels trapped, afraid to leave, but wanting to end an abusive relationship. The cycle of abuse just repeats itself until something is done. However dark it is, we realise later on that she's mustered up the courage to leave... Kinuha ang maleta Nagbihis, suot ang ebidensya Here's another interesting line Nagulat ka, bigla na ang jowa mo'y parehas sa tatay mong abusado Perhaps, we are in a cultural bubble where abuse can keep on occurring and where breaking the silence is considered taboo. I’ve love them since I listened to Sisikat ka iha and I love how they can portray the problems from real situations to artistic songs.
