Are there checkpoints to the roguelike elements?

Thank you for the great review. Is the attack button active like in any console game or passive like in the original mobile version (which was the best mobile game i've ever played)? Could i set it to passive if i wanted to have a more relaxed procedurally generated grind while being on the phone and talking to another person while playing for example?

*A Wink to the Past* is pure gold. Definitely getting a LoZ meets Isaac vibe from the gameplay. The pixel art isn't the best (and I'm also a fan of the style), but it looks fun enough. How steeply does the difficulty ramp up into mid/late game? Gungeon levels of intensity or more forgiving? And can I buy those lootboxes with real money? =P Great review!

Nice review man! I did not like this game at all when I played it on 3DS. I wasn't a fan of the randomness and difficulty, and it didn't seem to play as well on the smaller portable as it looks like it does on Switch. I'm glad you got a kick out of it though!

I like how the developers released this on Switch, yet, they still haven’t fixed the horrible game-breaking bugs on the 3DS version.

Yeah I played bit dungeon on my 3DS and my game started slowing down and crashed none of my games ever do that

It can be played with only one Joy-Con?

My first purchase regret on Switch, I'm afraid. The combat doesn't feel great and at least for now there are definitely some strange bugs, or confusions around item pickups. It is cheap, but it is destined for a 50-75% price drop some day. My friends were a bit turned off from the game as well. Boss-rush mode is either bugged, or badly designed, as only the player to get final hit earns any gold to buy upgrades... surely, this was not the intent :/ I should have put these dollars towards Steredenn instead.

Aw man. That’s a shame. Yea multiplayer is similar, the progression isn’t set up so great for more than one person. I liked the combat but I played it for quite a while.

Where's the review? All I see is an explanation of how to play the game.

Watched it again. Wasn't so bad the 2nd time. Maybe it's me.

i might have bought it if it weren't for the fact that if you die you start all over from beginning. i don't like those kinds of games that set me back far.

good review, but I would say the high school football game announcer voice has gotta go

I played it on mobile, the game play is a lot faster and harder, and it's a open ended rpg
