Every year our church which is non-denomination will have Holy Convocation. I only attended once and I was in the back working in children’s church. I didn’t get to see what the ceremony was all about. I go to church but I rarely participate in the “extra” things. I’m fortunately to be close to my bishop and first lady. I truly can say that they love us and me even though I don’t have a lot of money to go. They love on me anyways.

It doesn't come from scripture but from copying and wanting to be like the Catholic Church besides that it's utter nonsense every time in the Bible when men chose something they made a mistake they did the wrong choice imagine electing a man to be over you instead of having Jesus Christ over you

I had never seen this as I did not attend the event. It looks so Roman Catholic! It does not look, feel or sound like a Pentecostal service at all. "Quo Vadis" COGIC?

You'll find that much of this, especially the vestments, are Anglican imports (Anglicans, like COGIC are protestant). The holy communion service is interesting to me. It seems to be Bapti-Methodist in nature. This actually makes some sense, seeing as the Holiness movement was very much influenced by Methodism, and COGIC was started by former Baptist clergymen.

Revelation 18:4, "COME OUT OF HER MY PEOPLE AND BE NOT PARTAKERS OF HER PLAGUES". One thing about the Apostles, they didn't have state meetings, installation services, concerts, fish frys, chicken dinners, baked sales, raffle tickets, silver, nor gold. But what THEY had was the PURE UNADULTERATED GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST, AND THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT THEY PREACHED. THEY NEVER LOST SIGHT OF WHO THE MESSAGE WAS ABOUT. THEY DIDN'T LIFT MAN UP, BUT THE LIFTED UP THE NAME OF JESUS!

Presiding bishops in COGIC are elected every four years. Bishop Blake was re-elected presiding bishop; thus he was reinstalled--much like President Obama was re-elected president of the U.S. and had his second inauguration in January.
