I've had Biscuit for over a decade now. He's seen better days, has some of the problems you mentioned actually, but I still love him. I wish I could play with them without my real dog giving me a disappointed stare lol

I am proud to say I have owned one since I was seven and he is still 99% well and good. Sometimes his neck goes funny and he doesn't have the collar, but I have the bone and everything works really well. I love him to pieces and he has been a significant part of my childhood. Or maybe I was 5. Who knows. All I know is I've had them for a very very long time.

You are right about the front legs being a weak point, however they can be repaired at home using the original parts. It is either a design flaw or the wrong material was substituted for the required material. The plastic used bends under the weight of the toy and the weight of the child playing with it. The plastic does not break however. With the right reinforcing material, they can be straightened and strengthened. The work needed to get access to the affected components (the forearms) is tricky but not hard once you work it out. Finding the screw holes in the fur on the shoulders was the hardest. Two recessed Philips screws per shoulder and the shoulder comes loose. Two or three electrical connectors to undo and the whole leg comes away. Carefully release the clips holding the fur to the leg (four at the shoulder, three at the paw) and you can slide the fur right off the leg in one piece! The forearms can be easily removed from the shoulder and paw sections. Put the forearm in boiling water for a few minutes, then stretch the forearm until the compressed sections are straight (you can see the plastic has gone white where over compressed) and the end sections of the forearm that connect to the shoulder and the paw are straight relative to each other. Let it cool down. Then fill the affected sections with a material that will set hard. I used plastic wood, but hot glue might work as well. Let it dry or cool until firm. Then reassemble. That's it! Next job is to check his tail.

i just got one for 2 dollars at a yard sale, and only one of the legs is slightly bent, so he sits up very well and he looks really good, im really happy with biscuit.

Even on biscuits that haven't been sat on the legs will gradually warp over time. The best biscuits I've seen have been stored laying on their side with the neck supported and a wad of foam between the legs.

How I wish I saw this video back in 2017 when I got mine. bended front legs. They got worse coz I kept him sitting instead of laying down. Now he spends his days laying down, hardly play with it. I was one of the dumb people who didn't knew about this trap and fell for it. I still love him. I wish it could be some repair for him, he is so cute and fun. Mine was more than two to three years laying here, and today I tested him and still does his commands. If I didn't keep him sitting he would sit a bit better. Thanks for this video.

The legs were designed that way so that part of the legs would bend instead of a tooth breaking in a gearbox or some other part failing. They could actually be repaired or replaced with some effort. The plastic ring around his neck is only to keep the fur around there from pinching his mechanism. The neck issue is one thats actually a problem, a spring holder sometimes breaks off with extensive force. He falls over when begging because his hind legs have bent a little bit outwards and the floor was too slippery to hold them. Towards the end of the video he was just idling but he did get stuck in an animation

The back legs have been fixed and have support brackets in them now. The joint is loose and clicks. i dont want to attempt to get inside

They need to make more like biscuit but instead of a dog have it be another animal like a lion or tiger and make it able to walk

Why can't hasbro prodcue these realistic animeals anymore? These new dogs don't look so good.Their eyes are too big and their bodies are too small! Butterscotch and Biscuit are big, realistic and can do a lot more than today's animals.

I think he's doing a "sleep" animation when he lays down suddenly. most robot pets do some form of it if not being interacted with for a while or if the light sensor detects no light.

butterscotch and smores can have problems too. it’s the reality. butterscotch is from 2006 and s’mores is from 2007-2008. same with biscuit. old toys can have issues

You would do well just to buy a golden retriever plush by Melissa and doug. It's a lifesize. I've had one for almost a year and shes still in excellent condition. Her name is Collina.

The beast is not ready yet.. It goes to show you make an item and charge an arm and a leg and presto it won't work... I want furbie back they truly made an awesome pet and they were funny toboot..

You have to treat these dogs like they are a real dog, if you sit on dogs, the legs will break, same as a real dog, i think the hight and size, the legs cant suppot the pressure on him

You can fix him: cut off the fur inside the Front legs an pur lego or hard small peaces inside the leg. Put they in THE side...where they are bent in. Then he is stabilised. .......then he is goingt sit..hard gue the fur together:) J hope this helped 😀

Look on Facebook marketplace, eBay, and other local selling sites (they don't make biscuit any more so you have to buy secondhand)

It's completely inaccurate to state that these can't be fixed if they have inward bending front legs. The front legs are very easily straighten.

Very easily to straighten? You’ve clearly never dismantled one before. Once the plastic is buckled thats it, you cannot get the kinks out.

i kinda want this but 1. they are hard to come by with accessories 2. the leg issues and 3. they are really expensive
