I was so lucky during my labor ! I was at work, starting having contractions …. And waited until they were closer together . Then I just knew . I drove myself to the hospital and checked in and they said alright ! You are 5cm dialated ! I got changed called my family , everyone came up and that night I got my epidural and pushed for 20 mins and my son was here ! Best day of my life !!!

So glad you got to experience his birth with an epidural. This has been so fun to be a part of your life!!! Enjoy these newborn days. It goes so quickly.

Totally cried at the end with Larry’s happy tears and then Liam’s little noises while laying on you for the first time. What amazing memories you’ve captured! Congratulations Mindy & Larry on an absolutely precious little boy!

I can remember being induced with my oldest son, at 42 weeks. That was a very long day, since I hadn't dilated at all. I'm so happy for y'all!! I know it's been a long journey, but this is the best part of it!! You've been so strong and so positive through all of it. As a mother, you'll have the strength you've never had before. Every birth is unique and every baby is unique. Books can give you advise, but your intuition as parents will carry you through. I know you're going to be wonderful parents!! So happy for you guys!!!! I’m 10 weeks 5 days pregnant and scared of the actual giving birth part. Seeing how the epidural works is comforting honestly because I wasn’t sure how that worked. Does it hurt going in though? I’m so excited but nervous! Watching this was honestly comforting and I’m so so happy for you guys!

The epidural itself shouldn’t hurt. Before they place the epidural in, they will give you a shot of lidocaine in the area to numb it first. Once you get the numbing injection, you shouldn’t feel the pain of the actual epidural procedure after that. The lidocaine shot really isn’t painful at all, just a little pinch, which barely even lasts because as the lidocaine goes in, it starts taking effect pretty quickly. I personally don’t find needles or IVs to be that horrible, but for what it’s worth, I think an IV is worse than a numbing shot, so you should be just fine! Congratulations! 😊

@@BhappyD thank you!! I just got 2 wisdom teeth out which they put a numbing shot in 4 different places and honestly I barely felt that. So the numbing shot I definitely don’t think will be too bad then. Thank you for the info!
